It's not a shite thread at all, it's a valid question.

Owen never felt anything like ours the way Torres did and after his initial betrayal anything he did didn't really matter because once he was unfairly dimissed from Real, he was never the same again. Watching him beg for a club with his stupid promo catalogue akin to the dog on the advert (he's becoming a regular in my posts) was both laughable and pitiful.

Owen to Real is just as bad as Torres to Chelsea in that regardless of where they went they both royally fucked us over at a time when loyalty could have made all the difference. I don't even see Torres going to Chelsea as worse because really if he does have ANY loyalty about him, he couldn't have gone to a team in Spain and he wanted to stay in the other best league in the world, so given Arsenal wouldnt buy him and United didn't bid (would he have gone there?) then Chelsea were about it.

Torres to CHelsea. That was a move directly from us, and the timing was awful.

Owen to Utd was a great move for him at the time, but his bit part status there reveals his true standing in the game these days.

Food for thought for Nando as he looks to Owen. You get the sense that he might enjoy some immediate satisfaction with his move to Chelsea as he fights for the CL in the knockout stages. But I suspect that as something special builds at Anfield he will live to rue the day.
