    Sorry, this is in Canada. As it stands, our centrist Liberal government has "only" suspended funding temporarily. The lesser of two evils, as always.

    The leader of the Conservative Party here, in the wake of the allegations against UNRWA, has proceeded to call them a "terrorist organization" and promised to cut our funding to it. Knee-jerk reaction is always to the extreme, no nuance, no thought, just senseless destructive attack at every opportunity.

    What a brutal tournament structure. Both those clubs were out on their feet at the end, and DRC will still have to play 3 matches to win it all.

    It was strange. The ref did a really good job otherwise, didn't fall for any of either side's constant histrionics, and gave a straight red card appropriately without any hesitation. But going over to the screen, and watching it in slow motion? Maybe it's something to do with being told by someone else that you're wrong, or the slow motion.

    Ref looking right at the play, declines to give Guinea a penalty, and rightly so as it was a dive. VAR says go look at the screen, he doesn' and gives the penalty. The penalty taker does that shitty slow run up and puts it wide off the post. Justice.

    Is it just me, or has Salah's absence dispersed the offense across the width of the field? And how long until Bradley is Quansahing TAA's job? I'm being a tad flippant, I suppose. But this is a lot of fun to watch.

    Shoah Documentary on the Holocaust, consisting primarily of interviews with victims, witnesses and perpetrators. It's too much to take in all at once. The part I watched today was about Chelmno, what happened there, and also the attitudes and experiences of the people who lived there in the '70s. Harrowing, eerie and affecting.

    You're trying to send migrants to Rwanda. And getting rid of human rights laws to do it. If you're worried about your reputation being besmirched by proximity to far-right-wing politicians and policies, you needn't look too far afield.

    I'm assuming the withdrawal from negotiations with Canada is just a bargaining ploy. A few million worth of cheese is one thing, 25b is another. The point is, of course, that none of this was necessary.

    Happy with that, one mistake aside. Controlled all but the last ten minutes. Most impressed with the overall spirit across the squad (for want of a better phrase). Kids come in, play with similar quality and confidence of the vets. Hooper did a good job as well I thought. Didn't buy their constant diving.

    Barring an influx of early-20th-Century European aristocracy taking command, battle-field stagnation seems like a good thing.

    Ottawa's use of Emergencies Act against convoy protests was unreasonable, violated Charter, court rules Federal judge, so will be appealed to the Federal Court of Appeal and (probably) the Supreme Court.

    Mauritania knock Algeria out of the tournament. Can't say I'm disappointed by the result.
