  1. How close is Leigh-on-Sea to Newcastle?
  2. Pickford suffers a bout of Origi deja vu there with Antonio. And before he can recover WHam take the lead from the ensuing corner.
  3. Make it 4. If Crackle gets the axe whoever follows him will be saddled with that woeful back four, and having to start a rapidly-aging Ronaldo in every match. They're a half-billion pound shambles.
  4. As I mentioned, United are shite at the back. Absolute clown circus. Leicester not much better. And now it's 3-2.
  5. Very good young player. I don't want to wish him ill, but you have to wonder about his development, playing for a team with virtually no offensive structure.
  6. Slabhead switches off leading to the goal. United's defense is shite, Leicester have walked through them repeatedly.
  7. Little Miss Muffet Rode in her Tuffet Powered by Curds and Whey In My Aston Spider I Drove by Beside Her And wished her a Very Good Day Charles, on any given afternoon
  8. I thought the point of vaccine passports was to force people to get vaccinated, thereby reducing the number of those seriously sickened, hospitalized, treated in an intensive care ward and/or killed by the virus.
  9. Boris has just rung the front desk to ask if he can have the room for another week, and requested they send him up a couple more tubes of Quinacridone Rose.
  10. Out of the Past The Killing Two straight up noir classics, though completely different movies. Mitchum, Kirk Douglas and Jane Greer in the first, Sterling Hayden and an ensemble in the latter. An excellent choice for a double-feature.
  11. Escapes prison, beaten to death by a mob. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
  12. Thanks for the reminder. I'd forgot these were on tonight. Argentina up 1-0 vs Peru at the half btw. (I have a love-hate relationship with the internationals. I wish most of them weren't happening, but I still watch them.)
  13. Canada beat Panama 4-1 last night in WC qualifying. https://www.tsn.ca/alphonso-davies-canada-panama-world-cup-qualifier-1.1706184 Alphonso Davies with another demonstration of why LFC need to sign him and put him back up front.
  14. I'm a bit surprised the also-rans aren't a little less also-ran. If people aren't looking beyond the big two now, at what point will they ever?
  15. All part and parcel of the WWII allusions? First he's Churchill fighting them on the beaches, now he's Churchill painting same.
  16. The most encouraging thing I take from FSG and the Sox is that they've won four world series with three different managers over the 20 years. They have a good track record of hiring the right people for the job.
  17. I'd add "Midnight Run" and "The Seekers" (speaking of John Wayne). Yeah, Starship Troopers deserves special mention: I don't know if it's a masterpiece, or drivel, but if it comes on, I watch it. I laugh every time.
  18. Whichever prick is managing Egypt vs. Libya has Salah still out there, despite them being up 0-2 after sixty minutes. Gone down in a heap after a bad challenge. Back up and looks fine, but why would you risk your best player in a match that is, for all intents and purposes, over? He's just created a third with a beautiful little pass through the middle.
  19. I'm not a carpenter, but for some reason I'm wondering if that's tongue-and-groove flooring.
  20. Haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if I'm repeating something already covered, but how wil WFH impact on the tax revenue for cities if city centre property values drop? Is that part of the concern of government?
