    Looking through the posts to see how things are getting on. I've been doubtful of Henderson for a while now so was looking for some other thoughts from other posts. Well in Melchett mate the only post that had anything to do with the thread. I agree he should get a run at cm for a spell seeing as thats the position he was playing when we signed him.     The game today summed up our season.We played well,never took the chances we had, their keeper had a great game. I've been critical of Henderson but he done ok today.Arsenal don't look that good to me and I still think they will lose some games as well as Chelsea. Don't know whether we have the ability to catch them. Doubtful but you never know

    Me and the grandson was sat in block 220 top tier row 5 and there were a few empty seats around us. Bit later on found out quite a few reds shot down to to the lower tiers as everyone was standing up and there was plenty of room. Was a bit nose bleed that top tier. Personally I would have the millenium any day over wembley. Everything regards Cardiff was better than that cockney wasteland. That said it was great to take the lad and the grandson to the place were the King ( in the words of the great late Brian Moore " it's across the face of the goal " )scored the winner in 78.

    For me Shelvey is a better prospect than Henderson. If we had signed both players for the same fee Shelvey would've started more games than Henderson. He is better all round.

    Watched the lad today and I am convinced that young Shelvey is a better player than him. Spearing is better,and I would bet that Coady would at least attempt something positive during the course of a game. It's shite slagging our players but I really do not know what he is supposed to be doing. He doesn't tackle, he doesn't take chances with a pass. All i've watched him do is run about doing fuck all. We bought the lad on the strength of some good shows for his club and it was documented other clubs were interested in him. Jumped the gun I reckon and we are stuck with him. He's only a pup so may improve but his basic ability has me doubtful of this happening as he hides all the time. Players who arrive at our place with a big reputation sometimes struggle to get to grips with what is expected of them. I just wonder whether he is actually talented enough to keep a first team place. Thing is Kenny plays him regularly so must see something in him. I don't get it though. Him and Downing dropped for Bellamy and 1 of 2 between Dirk and Maxi for the final. Big number 9 gets a start. He deserves it.

    Gerrard is getting back to full fitness and no doubt has the euros inhis sights as it will probabl be his last tournament. You can't blame him for that. For me we have to have him in a free role linking midfield to attack with Adam and Spearing sitting in. Both can see a pass and need to get the captain on the ball as soon as we get possession. Gerrard takes up some great positons only for players not picking him out. For this reason Maxi plays before Dirk. Play Suarez and Bellamy around him and we will have a lot of movement and fluidity. Ball into feet around the box, both full backs to give us width. We only play at the weekend so tiredness shouldn't be an issue, and if this 11 stay injury free then we can go on a run of wins that will get us that 4th spot. Henderson and Downing don't get a game due to poor form. Carroll, unluckily for him, doesn't play as he fucks up all of the above

    This won't be easy as we tend to start slowly against weaker sides at home. The last couple of years have shown this We were fortunate to go in ahead at half time against Oldham due to a sluggish start and I agree with other posters that we put our strongest 11 out. Full week to prepare for the final. Henderson and Downing do not deserve to play for their piss poor outing last weekend and I hope they don't start at Wembley either.     Thank fuck that went off without any incident. Now we can kick on and push for that all important 4th spot as well as getting into the last 8 of the cup. We show them despicable cunts far too much respect when we play them but no worries, bigger fish to fry and all that shit . Good run of games to come so onwards and upwards.     Spot on that mate. He is a giant in the game and will only be out of work as long as he feels like. I remember Scolari telling us he would not entertain managing England due to the shite involved. After all the cosy Becks, Rio, Lamps and JT backslapping gang of pampered gang of cunts under Erickson and McClaren I was looking forward to seeing how Fabio could kick them into shape.     Seems Kenny is looking for any opportunity to play Jamie which didn't help today. That said he sorted it out early in the 2nd half to get us the win. Fair play to big Andy, he had a good go today and Dirk is the man for the big occasion. It's marvelous beating the backward manc gobshites. Just to watch the purple nosed socialist knight of the realm struggling trying not to explode in his post match interview was priceless on it's own.
