My resolution is to finally learn to drive this year. I'm in my thirties and have managed to get by using public transport, cadging lifts, cycling and walking. However, as much as I enjoy walking places, a bus driver went straight past me the other day and I thought "I'll teach you, you cunt".

The question now seems to be one of timing. I suspect in the summer Klopp wouldn't have minded had we entered negotiations with a view to getting Lemar +1 in, but Barca fucked about until the 11th hour and Monaco were picked clean by then and unable to find a replacement themselves. Now, Barca don't want to wait until the summer, as he could have a barnstorming WC and the price will go up again. We, on the other hand, will see that as the ideal scenario if indeed he is going to leave. Back to brinksmanship then, and the slow drip feed of pro-Barca news outlets claiming they're preparing a bid. Fuck me, they're even worse than us for "preparing" to swoop.

Just like in the summer, there seems a degree of over confidence from this Barca board, and that's being taken as evidence it's imminent from their end. Remember when the buzz was that Coutinho was going to be announced? Something's definitely happening. Then... nothing. I'm normally more cynical, but in this instance I think Nike are just getting their ducks in a row; like when someone makes a TV programme about an elderly celebrity who may be on their last legs, just in case they snuff it sharpish, but in this case the YTS boy working over Chrimbo hit publish.

Struggling to think where he'll go after this. Teams that dominate their league - like PSG and Bayern - want attacking football. He pissed and moaned about his time in Italy, despite being more in line with the pragmatism of the league, so might not want to go back. International football might be his last retreat, but now Portugal have won something and Ronaldo'll be entering his twilight years that's not going to bring any glory. The England job has been a long time coming for him, and it's probably tailor made for his skillset as nobody will complain with his standard of dull football given what England fans have been served up in recent history. His style's positively expansive compared to England teams.

I figure I'll keep most Switch games I buy as I like to build a little catalogue of titles for a handheld. South Park first, then Horizon Zero Dawn, hopefully by which time Witcher 3 will have got its PS4 Pro patch to add HDR support.

I had a bit of trouble getting into this. I might go back to it now I've finished Mario Odyssey though.
