  1. He was very much the elephant in the room that we were all avoiding.
  2. Don't forget money made from outgoing transfers. If we sell Markovic and Moreno we could... ah forget it.
  3. Lovren seems the most suited to partnering VVD, so that puts Matip as third choice. The problem with getting rid of him is that he's probably the most suited to covering as the ball-playing CB role that VVD currently has. None of the others can pass forwards. Gomez can be pretty decent at it when employed in the RB position, so perhaps Klopp can see him growing into that role centrally, but it seems a big ask.

  5. No, more of an all action dick-swinging box-to-box player. He can sometimes end up slightly ahead of the play, and look like an AM, but then he'll run through everyone snapping legs like Allardyce heading for a free buffet.
  6. No, risotto. All picked and PM'd John.

  8. Just gonna have a bite to eat then I'll sort my picks.
  9. There have been times recently where it's felt like we have been playing without a keeper.
  10. I think Serie A will fit him like a glove though. He's a proper unit, but he's also quite slow in acceleration and can't press consistently. The more measured, tactical nature of their play, where his strength will be more important, should be easy to adapt to. Even if he's rotated with Khedira for a year as he acclimatises, he'll likely be replacing him longer term. He doesn't strike me as the kind who'd leave here to go directly to Utd, whatever people think of his contract situation. As for City, well I could see him going there, but he'd probably know that he might get bumped well down the pecking order.
  11. I'm all in. I'm enjoying the ride of watching free-scoring exciting football and for the first time in a long time I'm not overly worried about a single player leaving. Klopp's team will just shift to accommodate the change, as we're finally establishing ourselves as a destination for top drawer talent again.
  12. Pretty sure I got that from a barmaid in Kent once.
  13. Good honest hat-wearing fellas.
  14. If his mother were a crack whore, would she be high hoe Silva?
  15. The pointlessly overwhelming range of toothpastes from the same manufacturers. There are about 20 Colgates and Sensodynes in my local supermarket, and they can't all be different. I stood there for about five minutes like I was playing a strange game of spot the difference. Repair, repair +, repair for sensitive teeth, sensitive whitening etc.
  16. If life's taught me anything (and it hasn't), it's that everyone has to try and thumb in a softie at some point.
  17. Gestapo? Yep, triffic player, I've been following him for years.
  18. Forgot I had two picks to make. Back to John again.

  20. Jumped before he was pushed I reckon. No point going on when half the press about you will be when you'll fuck off and they can get someone capable of winning the league in. Already loads of speculation about Pochettino.
  21. I'm ready to team up with Dogmeat again. Every open world game should have a dog.
  22. Went to a pub quiz last night and there was only one sports related question - "Name the Liverpool goalkeeper who made two catastrophic mistakes in the CL final last Saturday". Not sure he can come back from that; once you're a pub quiz question you're done.
  23. I've got a feeling Bert will stay, but his new role is chief jester to keep our South American contingent amused. They all seem to love him.
