  1. Hahaha, just on a wind up mate calm down. £20m was £15m too much.
  2. Oh, not sure about that. The report, just in terminology distinguishes between usage of gender incongruence and dysphoria as avoiding the perception of being perceived as purely a mental illness. I think it's included as much about parts of holistic assessment that are often missed, or done poorly. Haven't got to that bit of the report though, even on a scan through.
  3. In the context of "we should sign him" or "my boy" status? Different things, don't think he was ever wanting us to go in for puncheon...
  4. Adama traore... Or was that just ardja?
  5. Haha, yeah the Saka one just missing a wee bit of defender diving in to win a ball they can't reach and taking out a player. They are mental...
  6. It sounds like a further issue as, if you think gender services are inadequate, wait until you hear about the autism assessment waiting list...
  7. Interesting passage from the foreword to the full report that I think echoes Paulie's point quite well: "As well as hearing from those with lived experience, I have spoken to a very wide range of clinicians and academics. Clinicians who have spent many years working in gender clinics have drawn very different conclusions from their clinical experience about the best way to support young people with gender-related distress. Some feel strongly that a majority of those presenting to gender services will go on to have a long-term trans identity and should be supported to access a medical pathway at an early stage. Others feel that we are medicalising children and young people whose multiple other difficulties are manifesting through gender confusion and gender-related distress. One thing unites all these people; they all believe passionately in what they have told me, and those with either parental or clinical responsibility for children and young people are trying their very best to do what they feel is the right thing to support them. Despite the best intentions of everyone with a stake in this complex issue, the toxicity of the debate is exceptional. I have faced criticism for engaging with groups and individuals who take a social justice approach and advocate for gender affirmation, and have equally been criticised for involving groups and individuals who urge more caution. The knowledge and expertise of experienced clinicians who have reached different conclusions about the best approach to care are sometimes dismissed and invalidated."
  8. The overview is not too long, people can read about the much needed (evidenced by the demand) expansion and improvement of treatment and service provision for themselves. Rico has been a proven advocate for the provision of care to transgender people and does not have a track record of portraying them as liars, fantasists and predators at all. Internet points to the gasman. How the new car going? What range do you get? https://cass.independent-review.uk/home/publications/final-report/ Will have a read of the full report later, looking forward to seeing what actual evidence says for a change.
  9. The BBC have your say has a bunch of arsenal fans suggesting Elliot dived on Sunday... Insane levels of deflection
  10. Want both to go through, the ideal is they both get to the final and somehow both fail to win...
  11. Nah, it was used in the context of someone and their partner struggling to conceive. Maybe not intended in as mean spirited way as It comes across, but it was a shit joke.
  12. It's not wordplay is it, it's just a snide personal attack at someone you regularly butt heads with. Comes across as plainly vindictive.
  13. "I don't think it's unfair to charge him £3.50" "kill yourself" Haha, the good old days...
  14. Still think Diaz should be hammering a shot across goal (although to be fair the pass holds up a bit more than I remember). Two players following in, I think that's what Nunez is anticipating as well, slows ever so slightly before then having to speed up to get to the pass. On the whole I'm not too worried. We need John back on the pod to give some perspective on our attacking unit. We're so wasteful, but it's margins really. Diaz (although stretching), Dom (from Robbo) and Mo all fluffed much clearer chances than the above. Those were much more about just not doing the right thing, technically.
  15. If only there was a word for things like that...
  16. Come on, cheap WM pop and, despite what Rock says when selling it, he's really the final boss. As a punchline to that schtick it's fun, it's fine. Just hope we don't get a mess of a part-time feud running into next year...
  17. For all of Diaz's faults (he does make some pretty bad decisions), he has been contributing fairly consistently since Christmas and always runs himself into the ground. Makes up a lot for Salah's slightly blunted fitness. Needs that one guy who can knit it together. I really like Dom, but Elliott and Jones have both provided that more consistently at various points. Mac Allister is the guy, but we're asking him to give so much elsewhere.
  18. To be fair to him, having taken a quick look at who scored, he's actually faring better on several attacking stats beyond g&a compared to the last few seasons.
  19. Or just man Utd fans being "hilarious".
  20. I'm in the same place with the rugby. Rebuilding team, had few expectations other than needing to see the team show the effort and ambition I expect (to not go into games having already lost, always compete, show some pride). But now we've knocked the self-elected pre-season champions out of Europe (have that, "Messi") and I'm trying to keep sight of my expectations while wanting to meet all the people telling us how doomed we are going into the quarters with defiance. We'll probably lose, possibly heavily, but I'm not accepting it's a 0% chance. We are also up against it. If arsenal beat us then there's no shame in that, they're on the kind of run we're used to at this time of year and will deserve it. But let's not give in to self pity, it's a pathetic mindset at the best of times. This is where I want us to be, end of season, in a fight for trophies. You might lose, but I can't imagine wanting to throw in the towel. Can't stand it. Winds me up like nothing else. There's losing and then there's being a loser. One of these I can deal with. But hey, I'm still frustrated as fuck about yesterday as well, maybe people will feel different next time the side take to the pitch. I hope you do.
