  1. Fair points. Anyway, I'll return to this if and when the word 'negrito' transpires to be the crux of the issue. So far, this claim originates only from a handful of Fergies friends, and as I said earlier in the thread, I don't want to hypothesise based on claims from those cunts.
  2. I accept that, but Suarez and Evra clearly are not friends, and didn't seem to be on the way to establishing a friendship on the day. You could be right about an expert being called in. As I said, I'm not familar with it's usage, but if the word can be shown to have racially offensive uses too then he's in trouble. I also feel that Suarez's knowledge of English extended far enough to know that Evra wouldn't take Suarez calling him 'negrito' as a sign of affection. I might be wrong though.
  3. I know. But do you think the FA are above playing politics with this issue?
  4. I'm not sure of the timeline, but I think I'm correct in sayng that the charge came shortly after Blatter's comments. If so, I wouldn't be too surprised if the charge was a big 'fuck you' from the FA to Blatter, a way of rubbishing his remarks - not that they needed rubbishing anyway. Whatever the motivation for the charge, I certainly wouldn't be surprised if, following Blatter's remarks, the FA will be keener to prove the allegations for the same reason - to shove Blatter's words down his throat. As for the charge itself, if it revolves around the use of the word 'negrito' (as a few Manc friendly journo's have said) then I think Saurez is in trouble. I'm not familar with the term, and accept that it does have friendly connotations, but I think it'd be difficult for Saurez to convince the FA that he was using the term in anything other way than as an racially-based insult.
  5. Pepe Reina's indecision whether to go as Darth Vader or John Wayne Gacey caused some confusion at the LFC 'Heroes and Villains' fancy dress party.
  6. As things stand, I'd feel better about paying 15m for Enrique than I would Carroll. Still, I hope he comes good.
  7. Why not? According to Henry, we paid £35m for Carroll because we got £50m for Torres. What if we got £60m for Torres, would we have been prepared to pay £45m for Carroll if Newcastle didn't budge at a lower price? Henry's logic says we would. I agree the original statement seems a bit ropey though. It was probably thought up the moring after the night before, when Henry woke up and thought "fuck, I've just spunked a British transfer record on an unproven player. How to justify this."
  8. The Newcastle board have self-harming tendencies, there's no doubting that, but the fee was extortionate. I remember Henry explaining his reasoning behind it at the time - that, ultimately, we wanted £15m for Torres than we paid for Carroll. Does that mean that, if the Rentboys were prepared to pay £60m for Torres we'd have gone £45m for Carroll?
  9. I'm not even going to dignify Man U's latest entry in this saga (remember Nani's photshopped knee and reports of months out when Carragher gave him a paper cut?) with a response unless and until someone else verifies that this is what happened, but why the fuck is this still rumbling on? Murder trials have been completed quicker than this.
  10. Are they the cunts who sell the 'Heysel' shirts online? Fucking dregs of society in any case.
  11. To deal with the last point first, we brought in two replacements (Henderson and Adam) before Aqualini and Mereiles were shippped out. That's generally agreed to be the best way to do business in the transfer market. You seem be under the illusion (perhaps following your manager's example during this glorious window for him) that, if a player dosen't arrive after someone's left, then no-one's replaced him. Anyway, In the predictions thread I couldn't make the call between Liverpool and Arsenal for that fouth spot and, despite the differing starts we've had, I stand by that. Of course there's deluded fans among the Liverpool ranks, just as there is among Arsenal fans - the type who, with no basis in reality, predicted a comfortable 3-0 home win against us last season, the type who spent Wednesday night salivating like spastics whenever that tit from SSN mentioned the possibility of Arteta coming in for Fabregas, the type who, even giving the abysmal start you've had, still think the debate should be whether the title, not fourth place, is a goer for the Arse. But perhaps the biggest deluded fuck in all this is your manager; a once proven winner who, frankly, seems to be descending into a ever-worsening mental illness. For his own sake, he needs to get away from Arsenal and their shit, ungrateful, Johnny-come-lately fans, and spend a year or two on holiday. I mean, who the fuck boos their own team off in a pe-season friendly?
  12. Every cloud, and all that... If your pal needs any more straws to clutch at over the coming months, remind him of the parachute payments that relegated clubs get.
  13. What about the wages of the incoming players, or the payoffs and subsidised wages of those leaving/going on loan? Not that I give a fuck about how much we've spent. I'll leave pissing contests like that to the mongs who think expenditure is, in itself, something worth bragging about. The important thing for me is; have we improved much as a squad over the summer? The answer has to be 'yes'. If we've done that without spending money then that's even better, as it shows good financial management and gives us the means to spend later on if we need to.
  14. Nicked from Dalglish2000 on the offal, who did a translation of an interview he gave. LiverpoolFC Official Forums - View Single Post - Sebastian Coates to LFC?
  15. Fucking hell. I've seen people sectioned for having less delusional mindsets than Kenwright. "Every other Football Club wants to be like Everton" Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Bill.
  16. It's impossible to justify positive discrimination in the workplace while Mark Bright and Garth Crooks are in employment.
  17. The media = the important people. Fucking hell. In any case the media were backing him from the moment he took over right up until the bitter end. And if the fans aren't backing him maybe that's because, unlike the media, they don't have agendas and cosy relationships with the manager and do that old-fashioned thing of judging him on his worth. I'd love to see him get the England job. Or, more to the point, I'd just love to see him in the frame for it, just to see all those England supporting arseholes who said he's a great manager that we never gave a chance squirming in their seats as they contemplate the possibility of Hodgson managing their national side. It'd be like the boy who cried wolf.

  20. Greek debt: Greece launches massive fire sale as riot police clash with protesters | Mail Online Ha! I just noticed I made 6th place in the most negged list. TBF though, I was angling for some green with that comment on the DM site. Are they getting all liberal and tolerant on me?
