1. Nice photos - glad to see the forum is not made up entirely of grumpy old men like me. Proof if it was needed, in my first match I saw a Liverpool hat trick from Jack Whitham!!!
2. As mentioned in earlier post I think - Crystal Palace 4 Liverpool 3 in the FA semi final in April 1990. I think if there was one game that spelt the end of our domination it would be this one. Players at the end of their careers and shambolic defending opened the door for Utd to take over.
3. For the first time, I will not be voting in this election, simply because there does not seem to be any party worth endorsing at the moment. The news seems to be full of politicians unable to accept any responsibility e.g. Labour in trouble - lets get rid of Brown Expenses scandal - lets pin it on the Speaker of the House Not voting may let in BNP - the electorate will be to blame if that happens.
4. I read somewhere that Utd paid £6m for the 2 year loan with the option at the end whcih they can take or not. Third Party ownership looks a bit of a shambles.
5. Random Spanish girl Looking at this thread, it seems that gentlemen don't prefer blondes.
6. MESSAGE TO MONSTER-MASCH Instead of negging a point of view that you disagree with, how about using the the actual forum to put an alternative view across. I feel there are similarities between Torres and Owen at the same age in terms of lightning pace and hamstring trouble. Hardly conclusive but a cause of concern, thats all.
7. Just a quick rant on a pet hate. It happened yesterday as it does at most big matches. Why do news programmes sent out reporters into crowds of football fans? They always end up surrounding the bloke and singing or on their mobile phones calling home and smirking like a complete tit. Then is goes back to Fiona Bruce in the studio who is thinking " Where did he find that bunch of twats"
8. My only concern about Torres is that his career will go the same way as Michael Owen - I mean in terms of the hamstrings, not running off to Real Madrid.
9. Dear Aveez Can you help. I was negged for no reason whatsoever and received an apology at the same time. I am confused.
10. Song about a minute into the clip.
11. I'm ashamed to say that I had never heard of this event and found the programme very interesting. The only part that let it down were the reports of the exchanges prior to opening fire. It all seemed vague e.g The French Admiral was offended by the rank of the British officer sent in the first instance - and it lead to 1300 allied deaths?
12. There have been a few treads in praise of womens various body parts. But what of the sexiest part of all - the face. Who doesn't need to take their clothes off, who is simply gorgeous from the neck up. A few contenders Mrs Kaka Adriana Lima Kristen Kreuk Sysckya Porto Aishwarya Rai
13. Gone for Burnley with North West connection. Also, I admire supporters of clubs like Burnley and think they deserve a go in the top flight.
14. Before reaching for the neg button, could I just ask that you read the full post and give it some thought. The boycott of The Sun is complete nonsense. I have not bought the paper since 1989 but then I did not buy it before 1989 either - because it is a shit newspaper. Can I or many others in the same situation be said to be boycotting it? I had many friends/ relatives at Hillsborough and can vividly recall my revulsion at the papers stories. But headlines are created by people, most if not all concerned will not longer have any connection with the paper. It is now a meaningless symbol of peoples genuine anger over Hillsborough, a focal point to show solidarity and simply too easy to boycott. How many people read The Sunday Times or watch Sky Sports giving money to the same people in another pocket. I know this is an emotive subject and I have no wish to cause offence but felt it needed saying.
15. I feel I maybe swimming against the tide with the general feeling on this thread but here goes anyway. Sami was a great player and a credit to the club both on and off the field BUT he is not dead! I cannot understand the over emotional reactions. I have seen great players, Keegan, Rush, Dalglish etc. come and go and cant recall a fuss to equal this. If he has not been first choice for most of the season, there is no reason for him to be for the Spurs game. Securing second place was most important. He came on for a tribute to be given and that should be the end of it. Perhaps we are in an new emotional age - God help us when Gerrard hangs up his boots.
16. Could not have put it better myself. Interestingly she says " I live here in Salford" Would that not make Capitals Gains Tax automatically due on the London properties sold. Unless you are saying to the tax man " I live here in London"
17. Just to clarify, wasn't thinking of comments on things that affect us like to title race or even big events like the CL final. Just the routine pettiness that we should be above.
18. May depend on your operating system, but you could try going to Start button - Control panel - regional/ languages and ask for your English back.
19. Whilst this is going to look like a newcomer to the forum shouting the odds, is there any chance we can drop the obsession with Man Utd and/or their supporters? It seems to be a permanent major topic. Are we really that bothered? Could we just have one thread for anyone who really, reallly must post on the subject and leave the rest of the FF for general football or the reason we are all here - Liverpool FC.
20. I remember seeing a programme on the Liverpool docks. One retired docker said that there was a young lad in their gang who they left to do all the work whilst the older dockers rested. They nicknamed him - Adam He used to stand in the ships hold looking up and shouting " Oh God, am I the only one down here?"
21. Doing nothing is not an easy option but on the basis of a private one to one comment from this person, you have little to go on. In my previous job I took action in 2 similar situations of blatant discrimination. As much as people admired my principles, I am now unemployed. Like I said, no winners in this one.
22. I think the gap between to top 4 and the rest is increasing so the points total required will edge up each year. We need to gamble and turn most draws to wins even if it means losing the odd game.
23. Whilst your anger is understandable, if you take this further there will be no winners, only losers. This is one you cannot win. Keep it in mind but bite your tongue
24. Never cried over a match an hope not to. My bottom lip has only wobbled twice in all my time, Charlie George on his back on the Wembly pitch in 1971 and Michael Thomas 1989 ( damn you Arsenal both times ). Don't know why fans stay behind after a relegation to have a blubber. Sky tv have spotters trained for the following 1. Crying relegation fans 2. Attractive women in the crowd 3. Shirtless blokes with enormous beer guts ( rich pickings at Newcastle games )
