Someone I know (not very closely) works for Hawkeye on VAR. I am told Howard Webb changed the protocols at the beginning of the season and abolished an overseer they called "The Hub". This guys job was to coordinate communication. It is thought if the role had been available the Diaz mess up would not have occurred. I am also told that there is little chance of the audio being broadcast live as every other word begins with an "f" or a "c" - not family (or Sky) friendly. Don't want my acquaintance to lose his job but I'm sure he can be redeployed in Tennis, Cricket or Rugby.

I would like to have heard a comparison of the Jones and kovacic tackles but, to be fair to sky, the whole programme would turn into something LFCTV might broadcast. it appears one referee makes errors, appointing a second doubles the opportunities. Or they are cheats

Taylor didn't award the penalty until Diaz had been scythed. Possibly waiting to see if he scored but Taylor seemed to be ignoring the most blatant pen and red card. Then I see the refereeing/VARing in the Arse Citeh game and can't help feeling there is some vendetta going on.

Without VAR we have a valid goal chalked off but keep 11 players on the pitch. I’d take that. Mistakes will happen: VAR just compounds them.

One of the least irritating incidents came when we had 9 men and hooper, after initially allowing play to continue, called play back to the half way line to give us a free kick and book Bissouma(?). We’d just won a corner. How is a corner less advantageous than a free kick on the half way line?

If FSG sells existing shares in LFC to a new investor the Club wouldn't see the money. If FSG create new shares in LFC bought by a new investor, LFC would have the cash on its balance sheet. It could then use that money to reduce debt.

Anyone who has refereed will tell you how difficult the job is. Decisions that look obvious from the terraces are often trickier than they appear. I’m not alone in having given decisions based on players’ reactions rather than my view of the incident. There needs to be more appreciation of that but VAR is not helping. Refs feel they can be bailed out by someone at stockley park so avoid having to commit. This ends up with everyone looking more stupid. Bin VAR, get back to refs and linesmen making decisions and the rest of us accept they will get the odd decision wrong.

Hope the stabbing victim is ok. I remember in 2008(or 9) that a red got stabbed before our match with inter. Not badly but Italy is a scary place to follow your team

I think physicality is where he’s a bit short. Centre backs don’t tend to mature until they’re mid-twenties once they are fully developed. Difficult for CBs to come through the youth system for this reason. I heard a Bristol Rovers fan suggest he was abysmal last season although decent on the ball. I’d put this down to having to face huge physical specimens who might be a little short on skill.
