  1. The reason I think they'll be punished is there is no way the Premier League would go so far as to have 115 findings against their own competition without full knowledge in what they were finding against. This wasn't an external group making findings that the PL would want to go away. This was the PL openly embarrassing themselves saying their own competition has been corrupted for years and listing their findings. Also, the time it is taking, while pissing off others, is giving me confidence that they are doing this properly. As for the punishment? I don't think we'll see titles stripped or anything like that. I don't want Liverpool getting back dated titles so I'm not arsed about that anyway. I think they'll get huge fines and I think there's a very real chance they'll be demoted out of the PL. But, for me, most importantly, it'll be confirmed that they're cheats.
  2. The last thing we need is the Premier League starting to rush this thing to a conclusion due to pressure from clubs that, lets face, it, broke rules and are rightly getting punished. What an City have done has no bearing on the actions of Everton or Forest. Man City WILL be punished. Despite all the bleating from understandably pissed off fans, this process was always going to take years due to the volume of findings, the nature of them (actual fraud and cheating) and the actions of the people they are investigating. When it's watertight, they will issue their punishment, and it'll be extreme. Everton and Forests findings are basic accounting issues and very simple to conclude. Man City's were always going to take years.
  3. If you could have one guest on the pod, who would it be. Non LFC and LFC
  4. Look how long it took them to charge Everton for 1 charge that Everton had admitted. This is 115 charges against an entity that has put every barrier imaginable in its way. It’s going to take years for this to come to the punishment stage.
  5. Two things from the thread 1) I took Chris’s view on “Nunez will cost us a big game” to be a prediction thing. Right now all evidence points towards him in the future missing big chances yet again, but this time someone else doesn’t come on to get the goals that saves the day, and it could be a Cup Final and it’ll have been entirely predictable. There is nothing to make us think that way about Jota or Salah. However, if we get one chance in the 91st minute of a Cup Final and Jota skies it over from 5 yards, then he’ll be remembered for it, but everyone would say it was out of character and a surprise. If Nunez did it then everyone would say it was entirely predictable. I will add thigh that Nunez creates brilliant space and chances for others and I’d rather he is starting then not. 2) There was comments made complaining why the referee brought on the medical staff for that pathetic slight touch to the face from Virgil, but I’m convinced the ref did it to teach the player a lesson. Once you bring the medical staff on the player has to leave the pitch. The diving twat stood up and said he was fine when the ref summoned the medical people and some of the other players did too, but the ref angrily said no and kept summoning the medical people and then pointed to the line and told him to get off. I think it was the ref making a point to him that he knew he was acting up and was trying to get Virgil a red card with the lack of VAR. I was pleased the ref did it.
  6. The people on twitter taking it seriously and complaining about a BBC journalist saying it really need to grow up. He's allowed be a fan of a club and have all the petty hates we football fans have. If he has a burner account where he can vent like the rest if us then good for him. He's screwed up by posting it from his work account, but just let it die. It's a nothing issue.
  7. Jesus, in my head he's only about 55 years old. I see though he was 78. Fuck I'm getting old....
  8. Nothing. Sitting there, looking straight ahead out the window, listening to the pod.
  9. This is actually quite an important question. Barring a small cohort of idiots and basement masturbators, the vast vast majority of people won’t give a shit about him or his dumb opinion. But 24 hour news and social media means that his misogynistic, and now racist crap will be positioned as a ‘debate’ and Barton and his ilk will be made think there is large support for him in the public. In a perfect world he’d be ignored, but this is going to grow and grow until he gets his TalkTV spot.
  10. I used to dislike McIlroy a lot, but over the last few years have grown to like him. He’s been an almost lone voice trying to protect the game. I’ve a lot of time for him now and have gone from laughing at his Masters failures to now hoping he wins it. That’s unusual for me as I usually hold my grudges well and if anything hate the person more as the years pass. Not sure how McIlroy changed me the sneaky twat.
  11. Well that’s the future and we’ve no idea what that holds. For example, LIV could (and probably will) be a part of the overall year and they’re all playing it as part of a standard schedule. But we certainly can’t declare McIlroy a whopper for something he’s not done, and certainly won’t do in its current guise. You also mentioned something about McIlroy not turning down $500m? What’s that about? Last I’d read was McIlroy said he’d never had an offer and continues to make it clear he’s not interested in one? Is there reports he’s now considering a big money offer? Now that would sadden me if it was the case.
  12. I think it’s harsh to call it a “u-turn”. He’s said he’s accepted that the LIV thing is not going anywhere. Especially with the PGA agreement and now Rahm going. So he’s being realistic. He’s certainly not said he’s fine with it or anything like that. Just that him standing alone screaming into the void isn’t going to achieve anything anymore and it’s time to try and get golf back together, especially as the viewership is pretty small compared to other sports so division just cannibalises the sport. I hate LIV too, but accept something now has to happen to end the fighting and find a place for it. I thought McIlroys suggestion was quite sensible too.
  13. How can you not love Joel? RPReplay_Final1704555404.mp4
  14. You can choose to believe this or not, but I have it on good authority that he’s already requested the number 15 in honour of his favourite ever player, Ray Parlour.
  15. I've heard Jones is desperate to sign for Arsenal and may do a "let me leave" interview in the Sunday Times.
  16. FUCK YOU JORDAN HENDERSON. YOU CAUSED THIS YOU HYPOCRITICAL CUNT. FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU *weeps*
  17. I can only feckin dream! Socks again. Not even bus socks. Just socks.
  18. I’m not even half way through it, but nice to get the regular “ok, let’s deal with the elephant in the room and talk about Nunez’s miss” chat out of the way early.
  19. I'm not sure what to think about progress in AFCON. Last time when they lost the final his form dropped off quite considerably. So part of me wants them out as soon as possible, but will he then get in his own head and struggle? So maybe missing a few extra games and winning it sees a Salah on fire for the rest of the season? Very annoying either way that we're losing him.
