It gets worse, I work at Rolls Royce who, instead of building a new factory in the UK are currently building a brand new multi million pound facility in Singapore, once the factory is up and running there is nothing to stop the powers that be from moving more work from the Uk out to Singapore and putting us right up shit creek.

  8. Ali said some bad stuff but said it with what he believed was humour , I don't think that he realised how much he hurt Frazier with his comments until much later. Great fight though, funny how Frazier had 3 good close fights with Ali but Foreman totally wasted him!
  9. Sad day, me and my mate used to listen to tapes of Frank's radio show back in the day and be in stitches.
  10. Fernando Torres at centre of Liverpool intrigue | Liverpool - Times Online Martin Broughton, the Liverpool chairman, is reported to have said that it might be better for Fernando Torres to leave because it could take up to three years to sort the club out. The comments were allegedly made to Charlotte Jackson, the Sky Sports News presenter, who disclosed details of a conversation she had with Broughton, a Chelsea supporter, at the West London club’s Player of the Year awards dinner at Stamford Bridge this month. “I saw Martin Broughton at Chelsea’s Player of the Year dinner and he refused to tell me that we weren’t going to sell Torres,” Jackson said. “He said, ‘At the moment, he’s still on board, but it’s going to take three years to turn the club around, and at his age . . .’ ” Sources at Liverpool insist that Broughton’s position on Torres’s future has been made abundantly clear by a series of on-the-record interviews in which the British Airways chairman was adamant that the 26-year-old forward will not be sold this summer. But the fact that he is alleged to have suggested in a private conversation that the immediate future at Anfield is so bleak that it may be better for Torres to seek pastures new will increase concern among Liverpool supporters that the club’s prized asset could depart. Torres has attempted to put all talk about his future on the back burner until after the World Cup, but is privately deeply concerned about the direction Liverpool are heading under the ownership of Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr. Although it remains highly unlikely that Manchester City, who have expressed an interest in signing the Spain forward, could tempt him from Anfield, Chelsea are also monitoring the situation and the chance to join the Barclays Premier League champions would give Torres food for thought. When Liverpool played Chelsea at Anfield this month, Broughton decided it would be best, given his allegiances, if he did not attend the game, so the fact that he was at a dinner celebrating Chelsea’s season will not be of any great surprise. But the contents of a conversation he is said to have had at the event will cause a stir, particularly the suggestion that it could be three more years before Liverpool are able to get their house in order. Pepe Reina has already revealed his belief that Liverpool will have to revise their targets for next season in the event of a buyer not being found to oust Hicks and Gillett, and the goalkeeper’s pessimistic view has been supported by Jamie Carragher, who believes that a lack of spending power in the transfer market makes any thoughts of a title challenge being made appear fanciful. “Clubs like Real Madrid and Inter Milan can just throw £100 million at new players if they don’t win the title,” Carragher, the Liverpool defender, said. “But Liverpool can’t do that. We have to build. We can’t just raid the transfer market. “Next season, rather than thinking too much about the title, we have to concentrate on getting back in the top four.” Chelsea are expected to step up their efforts to sign Yossi Benayoun this week, confident that an offer in the region of £6 million could be enough to convince Liverpool to sell. Benayoun has been unsettled for several months and had been keen on a move to Russia, with CSKA and Spartak Moscow believed to be interested in acquiring the Israel midfield player. But Carlo Ancelotti, the Chelsea manager, has jumped to the front of the queue for Benayoun and is hopeful of signing him before the World Cup. Rangers have informed Liverpool that they will have to increase their initial £2 million offer for Danny Wilson if they want to sign the 18-year-old central defender. “We are currently waiting to hear back from Liverpool after we rejected their original offer,” Walter Smith, the Rangers manager, said.

  12. I went to a sportsmans dinner last year when Jan was the main speaker and he was great, very funny and hung around for hours after he'd spoken to chat with everybody, I ended up getting pissed and oining him to death but he was a gent! had a couple of one to one chats with him, he hates Souness and thinks Stevie G would get in the 1988 Liverpool side but only as right back!
  13. Liverpool are considering a shock move for Tottenham misfit David Bentley this summer. Rafa Benitez is looking to bring in some bargains as he tries to add more creativity to his midfield using a shoestring budget and has identified the White Hart Lane man as a suitable target. The former Arsenal man was excellent during the second half of the season when he got a run in the first team as a result of a long term injury suffered by Aaron Lennon. The 25 year old began to show the kind of performances that led to his big money move from Blackburn Rovers to Tottenham but is set for another season struggling to get into the starting eleven and so could be ready for a new challenge. Harry Redknapp had made it clear that he would listen to offers for the England international and Rafa could well be ready to offer Yossi Benayoun in any deal. Benitez has used the Israeli international very sparingly over the past three seasons and is ready to consider a swap deal to help seal the deal. The north London club are keen to recoup as much of the £15m fee they paid for Bentley back in July 2008 as they can. Liverpool have lacked natural width on the right for some time and have played Dirk Kuyt out on the wing for the best part of two years but the Anfield boss may feel that Bentley could offer more and is hoping that the carrot of first team football may help lure the Spurs man to Merseyside. 14. If Rafa was sacked by Liverpool I believe it would be highly unlikely that he would get the £16m payout, surely all the club needs to say is that they will drag it on over a number of years with Rafa having to pay a massive chunk in legal fees the longer it drags on? On old mate of mine used to sit on the bench at employment tribunals so I'm going to ask him about what he thinks, but I do believe that the club would make him an offer and tell him to either the offer or he can go to court. Just my 2p's worth, I'll go back to sleep now!

  18. No.He should never be a first team regular, as a central midfield player he can't pass or tackle effectively or consistently enough, he doesn't score goals nor is he a box to box player, far too many mistimed tackles and passes.
  19. Source? The guy at work who is a Sunderland season ticket holder obviously!
