Before anyone starts having a go, Im a scouser who has been going the match for 18 years week in week out and I have noticed the atmosphere going down hill slowly over that period since the number of working class scouse fans have been slowly getting outnembered by the out of towners.

I know what he means about the day trippers. There was about twelve Pakistani or indian fellas behind me in the main stand at the barnesly game talking fucking shite. they were up and down like blue arsed flies every two minutes and didn't even watch the game or sing a single word. Theres a lot of out of town supporters who are loyal and go to a lot of games so i want to make it clear i am not tarring all non-scousers with the same brush, I just wish there were more local passionate reds at the game instead of the "prawn sandwich" brigade as fergie calls them.

haha yeah i noticed the close ups of mcclair's bit fat face myself. Thought Kewell was very average tonight, especially when you consider the quality of the oppositon (reserves). Agger did ok as did Skrtel and alonso, nice to see Xabi do well, imho we need him doing a job in the first team in place of Lucas. All in all though, a nice 2-0 win and some first team players improved fitness. Everyones a winner......except the mancs obviously

I dont think he's all that bad myself, he's still got a lot of improving to do but I think the majority of games he's played he has been decent. He was just VERY shit on saturday.

Lucas and Mascherano both 6? I thought Lucas was fucking shite. Every time he got the ball he gave it away. Mascherano was excellent I thought. Covered every blade of grass on the pitch and made countless tackles.

Excellent point that neil, we have a fucking huge squad (one of the biggest in the league i think?) and a lot of it is average players. Hopefully if Rafa gets some money he will be able to fuck off the dead wood and replace it with hungry, good quality youngsters (the way Wenger does) who are willing to sit on the bench a bit more than fully fledged older international players. I think he has started to do that with Lucas, Babel, Insua, Hobbs etc coming, he just needs to start clearing out the average players now. Hopefully starting with Crouch, Itandje, Kewell, Riise etc
