  1. I've never been totally convinced that's going to make it, but I have to say, he brought a dimension to our attack that is sorely lacking today. He played Chelsea off the park in our last home game last season, and we could have used him tonight against the bruisers from Hearts. His defensive work was missed too. I don't think trading Carroll for Dempsey makes sense. Unless it's about our profile with Fox Soccer Channel. I wish him well at WHU, and I hope he justifies the confidence in him shown by Kenny, a big section of the Kop, and now Allardyce.
  2. The whole team in the first half, Sterling excepted looked nervy but in the end, it's true to say that the threat was nullified. It's not saying much given who we wre playing. If there are any conclusions to be drawn, they are not new ones. Spearing is not going to make it and should go. Ditto for Adam! Carragher is too much of a risk and should make way. Shelvey has more to do to prove himself but the potential is clearly there. Ditto for Henderson. Borini looks like he can make it, particularly unlucky today! Needs to keep focussed. Goals will help! It will be a different game Sunday, we can be sure of that.
  3. Martinez did not actually say he was offered the job. If his published words are all there is, it looks like he got the chance to discuss the job. Which is NO news! But he's spinning it into something more. hard to see why unless losing to Chelsea so easily has made him feel less untouchable from the wiley Dave. I don't think LFC will dignify this with a comment although you might hear some say "Brendan was our first choice" in the same way that Henry countered the SAF jibe about Suarez costing Kenny his job! Too many topics here!
  4. Watching Fellaini outplay the Mancs today reminded me how far he's come. He was crap at first. The bitters joked theyd bought the wrong player (Steve Dufour). But he's come good. Could happen for big AC!
  5. It's not just youth players. It's heartbreaking to see the talent that we've let go doing so well elsewhere.
  6. Albion did not exploit Johnson's weakness. Just look where the goals came from. I think it was a mistake to play him on the left. He's never looked comfortable there defensively, and it cost us his attacking threat. We beat ourselves Saturday. The biggest culprits being Gerrard (too many glory attempts) and Suarez with his misses. Be interesting to see the line up for City.
  7. Great post. There were plenty on this site that would have seen him leave and cheered. Without a doubt hebis the most formidable defensive asset we have. His influence is immense!
  8. I love this one! But for me, i don't really care about naming rights if they bring in the money. The ground never had a name originally. It was LFC's ground in Anfielc, where it still is. The whole "this is Anfield" thing was created by Bill with a touch of genius. Even if we move to Stanley Park - it's still Anfield. So if we get Apple Field, it will still be Anfield that you tell the taxi driver!
  9. Right on! I'm certain FSG felt he was on too much money and unlikely to be a saleable asset so it's a win-win move. He HAS to be replaced because he offered a unique threat with his pace and finishing ability.
  10. Very disappointing if true! It questions the authority of Rodgers IMO, unless he really wants to sell Agger. And I can't see any reason why he would. Too many of the rumors and our only signing so far seem to indicate very close involvement from Boston. Let's hope there's no more to this
  11. Shankly Paisley Fagan RAFA..........come back please, Rafa!
  12. Understanding? Do you think you can make shit like this up and expect to be taken seriously? Facts, thoughts, opinions, questions OK........BUT understandings? Mmmmm........recipe for disappointment!
  13. Not hard at all, but having entered Chevrolet in the Search Box and scrolled down all today's and yesterday's postings - finding zilch - what am I supposed to do. I like the Forum but it's not easy to use!
  14. We announced an Official Partnership with Chevy last week. Now the Mancs are doing the same. Anyone know what's going on? Would we really share a sponsor with that contaminated bunch?
  15. No matter what you think of Terry, and for me, it's not much, nobody deserves what he's been put through for what was an abusive exchange between two assholes. If he did use the word black, his opponent and the magistrate have declared it was not racist in either contextbor intent. It was common abuse, ill thought, and in the heat of the moment. It does not justify the public lynching in the name of what FFS, that he has been subjected to. He deserves to be treated like anyone else. I doubt if he would be fired or punished in the workplace under these circumstances, particularly when exonerated in court. ENOUGH!
  16. You are too nice! It's clear he thinks he's "hot shit"! The others just think he's shit!
  17. Quite agree! Suarez handed Ferguson the opportunity to stick the knife in and defend his player. And he took it! Ferguson was right in his statement that Kenny lost the job in part because of the way he handled the issue. At OT, an experienced and capable PR machine swung into action, no doubt having learned from the problem that Evra caused at Stamford Bridge. We rolled out T Shirts and petulance! In future you can be sure that the handling of the media will be in the hands of people who understand the importance of the brand and interests of sponsors. We've learned a lot from this, and one thing we learned is that no matter how good your intentions, or how strong your case, you have to understand how the PR game is played and play it as well as your opponent. In this instance, Kenny did not have a clue and hurt himself and our case in the process. With FSG, we are part of a much more capable and savvy organization, and I doubt that we would find ourselves outsmarted by the Mancs again. I understand Suarez' frustration, he too was naive, but he can help his cause by his behavior in the future, especially against the Mancs!
