  1. This seasons McLaren is a real pig of a car - they've not adapted to the new technical regs very well at all. There's talk that they may fully dump KERS, and give a near full redesign of the car. They need it...
  2. I 100% agree, in fact my company works to try to help people in such cases. Those people who work all hours god sends and are still being battered over the head to pay debts, having bailiff's call to their houses etc I have huge sympathy for people like them, but people who sit at home all day and have no intention of getting a job to pay their debts? It's not the same thing IMHO, and it sounds like the lady in question is receiving a lot of help already from her brother, and in receiving income support. Where does 'a little help' stop?
  3. That's very good, but no. Tell me, where exactly does it get more complicated than being a good citizen and paying your fair share? People closer than any of us to the situation, Acid and his mum, have tried to speak sense to the girl but it appears she's not interested. Do you honestly believe she doesn't have the contact details of the kids father? If she was interested in acting properly she'd be attempting to rectify the situation by contacting the father and attempting to get him to pay his dues. If not, give the bailiff his details. But it appears she's not interested, it's not her problem, and it will go away if she goes and has a sleep all day... Nobody wants to pay council tax, and there are days when we all will have felt like giving up work and spending more time with our kids and it would be great if we were paid to do so, but sadly it ain't that simple. Those who think it is are kidding themselves.
  4. Sorry, but she's jointly liable for paying council tax - *they* didn't pay it, not just him. I'd push her out the door and tell her to get a job, and if she didn't, the next time the bailiff's came to the door (and they will keep coming, hounding *you*) I'd call her to the door. Her thinking it's not her problem is extremely childish, and is a lesson her kid doesn't need to learn. Having a kid isn't a licence to sit at home on your arse all day doing fcuk-all for the rest of your life. The best of luck to you and your mum in trying to get her head straight.
  5. We were there on Sunday too, and you're right - the food is fantastic :) Our favourite used to be The Ruan Orchid in Chester, but this may well take over that mantle. We'll need a few more trips to make absolutely sure though... ;)
  6. Draw up a deed of partnership, be as in-depth as possible as to what is expected of who etc, what penalties there are for X or Y etc, both go to a solicitor and sign it. Be upfront with each other, and keep communicating even when you want to smash each others heads into the wall, make shit loads of money and buy LFC off the Yanks. ;)

  8. I've met him on a couple of occasions; one when I was collecting a 'Player of the Year' award for a team I used to play for. As we were having our photo taken a fellow team mate shouts out from the audience: "John, is it true you've got a massive schlong?".
  9. PM me with details of who you work for. I may know a solicitor who can help.

  11. I honestly believe Messi, Kaka and Gerrard are better players. He's a very talented player, but it's bollcoks that he's the best in the world.
  12. I think that's a bit unfair on Sony to be honest. A friend and I went out shooting together, he with his A350 and me with my 1Ds, and we swapped cameras for a small time. I was honestly very impressed; if you're a sports shooter then it may be a little slow, but for portraiture and landscapes it's a great camera. Bear in mind too that Sony make the sensor which goes into Nikon's top of the line D3x (and maybe other cameras too). I don't think they're trying to flood the market with mediocrity, I actually think they're the brand to watch right now. Two more points: consider Panasonic too - their Lumix G1 is a great bit of kit (see here) - and it wasn't Canon's top of the line camera that experienced the focus issues, it was the 1D mk3. Having said this, the 1Ds 3 experienced its own problems, the 40D did too and now the 5D mk2 & G10 have their own problems too. Canon's quality control isn't what it should be...
  13. Thanks Wanks ;) These were taken with a Canon 1Ds Mark III & Canon 17-40L IIRC. Me = All the gear, no idea... RE: which camera to buy. Dependent on budget (I'll guess around the £600-£800 mark) check out the Canon 450D, Nikon D90, and Sony A350. Each are lovely cameras, and if you choose one of the above you certainly won't have made a bad choice. With photography it's all about the lenses though, but that's a whole other topic...
  14. Fantastic film, one of the greats IMO. I visited Cambodia last year, and having watched the film it made me appreciate just how fantastically the Cambodians have moved on.
  15. Remember, this isn't the first time that a Ferguson and an Allardyce have been eating from the same dirty trough: Football calls in the Fraud Squad | Mail Online I'd love Rafa to hint at this :)
  16. I wasn't massively comfortable with today, but before you have a go at Trevor Hicks, read this first:
  17. It's not often Rafa is out-thought when it comes to tactics, but he was handed his arse on a plate tonight. Their man marking Gerrard and Alonso cut off our main suppliers, thus cutting off Torres, and it only emphasised our soft centre when Mascherano isn't available. Our subs stank too. Bad day at the office all round, but not the end of the world.
  18. Jan's kid is an Arsenal supporter. What a kick in the bollcocks that is!
  19. What's going on with the reflections? Some don't even look like the buildings they're supposed to reflect, and the sizing is all wrong for a few of hem - even taking into account that some buildings are supposed to be set further back than others. It's not the worst I've ever seen - Lisa Simpson doing sucky sucky probably takes that accolade - but it's a bit of a piss take for £50k.
