    There's a load of great American guitar bands around at the moment; Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver & White Denim to name a few. Most "indie" stuff from this country is utter gash and I'm in a job where I have to listen to a lot of this stuff. The Arctics are pretty much the only exception to the rule over the last few years. The Courteeners, Wombats, Kooks...what where the others...One Night Only, Kaiser Chiefs, how they ever got big I'll never know. All twattishly poor. The phrase I heard to describe this dross which instantly inspires the appropriate feelings of revulsion is a Soccer Saturday band.

    The second box-set if you're not hung up on extras. Obviously there's probably not much need to praise the Dollars trilogy. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly is worth the price on its own. Hang 'em high is a cracking Western in itself. Would highly reccommend this box-set too hmv.com: DVD: Wild Bunch/Pat Garrett/Ballad Of Cable Hogue/Ride The High Country: 6dvd (2006)

    Adam West...Adam West. 60's Batman is a classic. What other show has the Batmobile deploy a parachute out of the back of it so it can turn 180 degrees in the middle of Gotham City? Then Batman calls up his Bat-Parachute retrieval team to come and pick up the Parachute in a Van. With Bat-Parachute Retrieval team written on the side of it!

    The Bride Of Frankenstein is better than Frankenstein. Batman Returns is better than Batman.. I present Michelle Pfeiffer in a Catsuit as evidence. The Godfather Part II is in a different league to The Godfather. Evil Dead 2 is better but is it a remake or is Ash just really fucking stupid? The Two Jakes is better than Chinatown. One of these may be a lie.

    Probe are ok. I think you're right though Hairy is the best in Town and it's a bit depressing that you have to rely on HMV or Zavvi (one of which I work in, go to Uni kids). Even Porthmadog has the excellent Cob Records. Personally I'd love to set up my own little "Championship Vinyl" in town somewhere...if only I ccould get up of my arse.
