  1. Well if you think that's what it's about then you're right to think it's shit. I think you're missing the point though. He doesn't mock the afflicted, he mocks the mockers.
  2. Looking forward to it myself. Life's Too Short got tiresome pretty quick but the guy can write sit-coms, no doubt about it.
  3. I think you should definitely reply and post the responses on here. We could have a bit of fun with it. (Sorry LC, I know that would be wrong in the eyes of the Lord but it would be good entertainment).
  4. ...and I din't do the research because when I looked on Facebook I found a Maria Suarez who was wearing a bikini and looking fit. So I had a wank instead.
  5. You asked for a name and that was in the same post. It's Maria (Mica/Mika) Castello(n) Suarez. Elementary.
  6. Yeah about 6 years I guess. They're not too common by all accounts. I found it in a tiny 2nd hand music shop in Denver when I was visiting a mate. I was just walking out when it caught my eye. Got it for $400 (which was about 12p back then!) and I understand it's worth between £1500 - £2000, but haven't really done much research on it so that could be balls. Don't care. Would never sell it (for less than £2000!).
  7. To be fair, your detective skills have been somewhat lacking already seeing as Rem has posted several connotations of her name a few posts up. Leave it to the pros eh?!
  8. This is my Gretsch Historic Series Hawaiian. I quite literally love it. Amazing tone. Apparently worth a few quid.
  9. This also applies to people WITH technical ability. Still ready to use, no bloatware... it just works.
  10. Instead of getting pet insurance I started a savings account and put my 'premium' in there. So far I've amassed a decent sum, thanks to having a healthy dog, and if it gets to the stage where she needs some serious medical attention there should be enough in there to cover it. If not I'll just slit her throat and buy myself a really nice watch.
  11. Yes... definitely the cat porn.
  12. Well yes, an SSD and 16gb RAM is going to help isn't it?! The appeal of Macs is that you don't need to do that and the chances are, for a basic user, that you'll never need to take it into PC world to have it looked at because of a Java security issue or a build-up of malware slowing your computer down to a crawl. I use windows for work, mac at home. I prefer using a mac because it's faster and sleeker. Windows 7 is excellent mind... but as a home user try buying a 'PC' without any third-party software on it, or without a free trial of an AV you don't need (always the worst ones too, McAfee and Norton - which basically amount to viruses looking for viruses at the expense of being able to actually use the bloody computer). Straight out of the box, Apple is way ahead of Windows. Yes it's a lot more expensive, but I firmly believe you get the value in a machine that will last much longer than a PC without any looking after. I've always felt that the reason Macs started selling so well is down to one thing... Windows Vista. What a massive fuck-up that was. Even to the point where manufacturers would knowingly produce under-powered PC's running Vista with 1gb Ram when it needed nearly that much to run the OS.
  13. And it was looking so promising too! As you say, you can pick up and M3 or M5 Touring for under 30k. Absolutely brilliant cars.
  14. Mercedes C220cdi sport. Just got one last year and it's brought nothing but joy! Mercedes really know how to make a car, and the extras are immense. Who could ever get tired of your sat-nav screen rotating out of the dashboard? Nobody, that's who. Under 20k 2nd hand with low mileage.
  15. Is that due to people not having insurance and then needing treatment though? I' not saying it's right, but you'd be fucking mental not to have healthcare insurance in any country. In the example given by Mr Richards up there, the cost to him is 4k per year for his family (not including excess of course)... that doesn't strike me as being vastly expensive for good healthcare. Obviously, if you can't afford that then it's incredibly expensive! Fuck knows how much of UK tax goes to the NHS though so difficult to compare. Anyone? Tough one. I honestly think they've got it half right out there... and we've got the other half here. Both are half wrong. Obama FTW.
  16. Acer are great laptops. Personally, I would steer clear of Dell especially the Vostro range.. and the rest are just over-priced. There are some great deals on Amazon at the moment. Just to add to the other good advice you've got on here.
  17. Well you just need to change your router settings from 'obtain DNS automatically' to the ones given here. In theory at least... and that's assuming you're using a wireless broadband connection and not 3G.
  18. I'm going to try that later on if I get the chance... let me know how you get on mate.
  19. Quidco doing £15 cashback for Netflix and £18 for Lovefilm by the way. I really like it. It's got 7 seasons of The Office (US), Loads of IT Crowd, The Thick of It, plenty of South Park, the Louis C.K. stand-up which I'd never seen before and is great, Green Wing, Peep Show.... stuff I like anyway. Oh, and to top it all off... A Bit of Fry and Laurie! Lovely!
  20. Just to add another possibility, I had a situation where a user was having similar issues and I managed to resolve it by changing the MTU speed. Vista apparently defaults to 1500 and if the broadband connection is slower then you'll get problems similar to that of DNS issues (like, email working but not certain websites). Changed it from 1500 to 1450 and everything was tickety-boo. That was a Portuguese hotel mind.
  21. And this is a more expensive but apparently excellent alternative where you won't have latency issues. Apogee Jam - Studio quality guitar input for iPad, iPhone and Mac
  22. If you're using a version of garageband earlier than '11 you can adjust the latency in preferences I think. Or at least set it to minimum delay. Otherwise you could record without effects and add them afterwards... and sometimes the latency will go away if you quit and restart GB '11 or switch inputs back and forth. Seems to occur mainly on the first start up. Using the LINDY USB Guitar Cable with Garageband ’11 |
  23. Cheers. Repped. Just using the iPad you mean? You'll want an app called iDownload and a decent source on the web (which I don't have I'm afraid). Otherwise, just do it on a computer making sure to download MP4 or use Handbrake to convert other formats.
