This is it for me.
It's not just our club that's dying a slow death, top flight football on the whole is terminally ill. I reluctantly renewed my season ticket in the summer in the hope of new owners to go with the new manager and I'm seriously gutted I did. Even if we do get bought does anyone honestly believe it's gonna be the same club we all grew up supporting?
I went to watch AFC Liverpool for the first time last Saturday and I can honestly say it was the first time I've walked out of a match excitedly looking forward to the next one, for as long as I can remember.
I was talking to the missus about it on Sunday and she said to me, "You're going the real match today aren't you?" The fucking irony!! The AFC game was the closest thing to 'real' football I'd seen in years!
Fast forward a few hours and I'm trudging out of Anfield depressed after sitting through yet more shite. I'm at the point were I couldn't give a fuck anymore as it's gonna have to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.
And anyway, there's always another Saturday afternoon (remember them?) in Prescot to look forward to. Try it one week, seriously. It's liberating.
