If we had to lose

Yes, I would rather lose a European match than one in the league. Hopefully, when we need to win our last game in Switzerland we will do it. We have done it before against Roma when we needed to win 2-0 and I think we can do it again.

As for Saturday, then I have just read that Di Canio is out so that is good news. Hopefully we will get all 3 points on Saturday and not go on a run of defeats like Arsenal.

I agree with you about Stevie G too, he is so much better playing in the middle, even when he is not at his best.

I appreciate your reply James. Obviously mine is just a personal opinion too, but if we were to fall into the UEFA cup then I could never feel the exhiliration that I got from entering at the start and beating Alaves in the final.

Defeats are never good (just ask the Gooners) so I disagree that going out the CL could in anyway help our Championship hopes! Still, we seem to have the shared belief that winning in Basle is very obtainable and that has to be a good thing.

Dear SS - they do 24 hours in Tesco so please go Wednesday Shopping as - correction -GH said the ultimate aim was to win the CL - he didnt say this year and aknowledges we have a way to go (I of course exclude SS from "we")

Sure a bad result, and as everyone says we have to learn from it. IMHO 2nd half we should have used MB at RB JC at LB and push JAR up but trust the man to get it right nearly all the time. Those who complain about GH tactics last night are probably the same as complain he sticks by Emile and Spud to much (both taken off) So KEEP the Faith - we will do Basle - and we learn fast so dont dismiss our chances yet!!!
