  1. I didn’t mention top 4 and I don't have an opinion of him as a person (apart from his poor hairstyle choice). The title of the thread is "So who should be our next manager?" That is the only level for which I am critiquing De Zerbi. The most important thing I want to see from a manager is progression. Brighton have got worse under De Zerbi. He took over a team that had finished 9th the previous season, were (probably in a false position of) 4th when he took over, finished the season in 6th but his points total for his 31 games, was equal to 8th place Spurs and will finish 11th to 13th this season, while the form of the team is nosediving. He has also spoken out publicly about the club ownership. He should be nowhere near any discussions about becoming the Liverpool manager.
  2. No, not for Brighton but for a team managed by a prospective Liverpool manager, then yes, pretty fucking horrific.
  3. They have 9 pts in their last 9 league games. Their form is getting worse, and they are sliding down the table. They will probably finish somewhere between 11th and 13th. Where did you think Brighton would finish at the start of the season? Do you think that is worthy of getting the Liverpool job? And the hair, fucking hell, the hair!
  4. He isn’t exceeding expectationsHe is actually doing worse. For a manager to be successful at Liverpool currently, the coach will have to create a team performing better than the sum of its parts. De Zerbi isn't doing that. For the 8 months of last year, even with Sanchez, Caicedo, Mac Allister and a fit Mitoma, they got 49 points from 31 games. Good for Brighton, but worthy of the Liverpool job?
  5. And the not winning games, of course. De Zerbi would be nowhere near the conversation except for the handover he got from Potter's Brighton last season. They had 13 points from the opening 6 games under Potter last season. De Zerbi's Brighton got 49 points from 31 points last season - that's a 60 point season, so they would have finished 8th level with Spurs. Since September of this season, Brighton have 29 points from their past 26 league games. That's similar form to Palace and Brentford. Since Christmas, Brighton have beaten Sheffield United twice, Stoke, Palace, Forest, and Roma (1-0 in a return leg after losing the first leg 4-0). De Zerbi is on a really poor run of form for 7 months and the good run for 12 months, wasn't that great.
  6. Rumours of a few changes in today's line-up, including a benched Salah
  7. Fergie left when he knew there was nothing left to squeeze out too. They are not daft. 4 of the 11 that started last night made their Liverpool league debut this season. Kelleher played 5 league games before this season. Nunez is here 20 months. Diaz is here just over 2 years. Elliott and Jones are 21 and 23 years old, respectively. Gakpo isn't here 18 months. Quansah is a child. FFS, where do these guys get off? Morons
  8. Klopp very rarely plays Mo, Elliott, and Mac Allister at the same time. We are just too small at set pieces.
  9. Aside from the 5-0 at the Emirates in October, and another 5-0 when they went down to 10 men v Burnley, their goal difference away from home is For 22, Against 12. They drew away to Brighton and Villa and usually only lose by one or two goals. We should win but it could be low scoring.
  10. On the Mo one, if a forward pushes the ball past a defender, continues his run and then "runs into Dunk's (the defender's) legs, it's a foul.
  11. Taylor and Brooks. A cuntfest
  12. And finished more three times. 99, 97 and 92
  13. I woke my wife when I burst out laughing at Dave comparing his modesty and humility to Jurgen Klopp. Never change man.
