  1. Irrespective of how little or much ticket money brings in, it's all lumped into matchday revenue in the accounts(?) is the fact these owners havent increased prices in 6 years. Many other PL clubs have. Ergo, it aint beyond probability that ticket prices could increase substantially more than 50 quid under a new owner. It's the impact of the price rise on the match going fans that's the issue.
  2. Fuck the Tik Tok generation. Anyone would think nursing staff shouldnt find a little bit of respite when they've been dealing with death and other critical care issues all day, every fucking day and need something to relieve their stress levels a little.
  3. Yeah but we both know pound to a penny, Kane would have got a pen for that challenge on Mo.
  4. Yeah. But nearly 50,000 in the ground seemed to think it wasnt just a coming together of arms and legs. Not sure how Mo's locking arms with a player he was a couple of metres ahead of while running and collecting the ball before the big gammut clattered him.
  5. I think most of those losses came after Guardiola publically conceeded and decided to go all in for the CL while we were home and hosed.
  6. Peter McDowell gets on my tits. He thinks he's at Madison Square Gardens being ringmaster for a World Heavyweight Boxing match. You're surely having a laugh?
  7. A noble sentiment and one I agree with. I think the reality will sadly be different. We might also be able to revel at the renaming of Anfield to the Ambani Reliance Industries Arena. How delightful.
  8. Tragic mid air collision at Dallas Airshow between a Flying Fortress and P63. Both planes seemed to be in each other's blind spot with tragic consequences. There were no surviviors. RIP.
  9. They've usually got pots of money spare and loads of space in their big fuck off mansions in which to indulge. Waterman's got a huge O scale layout in a dedicated outbuilding. Rumoured to have cost £250,000.
  10. Er hang on, you think a filthy rich new owner will be bothered about cost of living in this country?
  11. And they've still to come to Anfield. So long as Guardiola doesnt conceed early in the New Year like he did with us and, if arsenal's form continues then the unthinkable for me, might be on. The last thing we want really is arsenal winning it because then, the football authorities will go 'See, you dont need the wealth of an oil state to win the league. Liverpool and now arsenal have won it in the last 3 years.' Nope, if we aint winning it, we dont want other clubs winning else it adds legitimacy to city's sportswashing.
  12. How long after any new owner takes over do people think it will be before the new owner increases ticket prices for the first time since 2016? Id say the beginning of the following season.
  13. Said this to my mates. The one season city turn in inconsistent results is the one season we cant string a run of results together.
  14. Wolves were fucking woeful tonight. What the fuck is their keeper doing for that first goal, criminal. He didnt do much better on the 2nd either. 5 point cushion at the top but I still dont see them winning it. At the same time, I dont see city romping away with it this season either.
  15. I see the lovable shite fans kicked off again. Showing their true colours. Oh I do hope they fucking go down this season! They can blame the World Cup if nothing else.
  16. Thoughts from the game: Who was that new keeper we had in goal? I didnt recognise Alli with his haircut and having shaved his beard off! The boy was magnificent yet again. I counted at least 3 world class saves and he collected balls out of the air like plucking apples off a tree. He even made gathering low shots look piss easy when they're anything but. MoTM for me. Bit of a weird game, almost like a cup tie. We could have won scoring another 3 or 4. At the same time and if it wasnt for Alli, we could have conceeded another 3 or 4. Thoought Joe was solid again today. Konate injured again, you say? Hmmm. I said to the lads next to me 'The Southampton keeper looks a bit small!' seconds before Bobby's header from just inside the box seemed to be just out of the keeper's reach! Did Bobby make Tite look a tit with his performance? Mo really should have scored around the 15 minute but was too casual with his shot which the keeper reached. How the fuck is that not a pen for Mo in the 2nd half? The fat cunt ref just waved it away. Obviously I cant see if the defender got a touch of the ball from where I am in the SKD Upper down the Annie Road End but lots of people in the Kop and closer than me thought that should have been a pen. Mo's in front of the defender who makes a desparate lunge. Mo seems to fall backwards. Why would Mo go down there when he's 1 on 1 with the keeper? Fucking diabolical the decisions Mo isnt getting unless the defender did get a touch. It's laughable some people say Harvey 'isnt good enough.' Yeah, that ball to Darwin was pure filth, wasnt it? The boy got a standing ovation when he went off. Darwin was virtually unplayable especially in the first half. Maybe should have got at least another goal, his header late in the 2nd half looked destined for the top right of the Kop goal. Big Game James' 600th PL game! Good bit of sportsmanship in the 1st half when Robbo and a Southampton player tangled by the corner flag with the ball going out for a Southampton goalkick. Both players tagging each other after. Like to see a bit of that. Ward Prowse, worth a cheeky bid in the January window? We needed that win, it's just a shame we now have to wait 6 weeks before we play our next league game. Something kicked off in the home area of the Annie lower tier down to my right. Bizzies and stewards waded in where a number of people were standing. Whether some people wanted to sit down and others stand led to some sort of confrontation, I dont know. But, you dont like to see the Police going into the home support like that. The Last Post before the game, awesome and respect to the bugler.
  17. Might be an interesting watch and really highlight the difference today and what it was like back in the mid late 60's? Programme is primarily a backdrop to the 66 World Cup Final with Qatar on the horizon. Geoff Hurst ended up on the dole probably like many ex pros did when their careers ended. Hurst: The First and Only will air on Sky Documentaries on November 13 at 7pm and will be available on streaming service NOW.
  18. Les at the beginning is a bit wooden but, there's a fair bit of footage here covering various traction!
  19. My thoughts too. I thought the idea of crypto especially Bitcoin, was that it was a limited supply and like all things with limited supply and increasing demand, the value goes up? But then other crypto currencies were 'made' so supply wasnt limited and values can fall accordingly? Does just seem like giant pozni schemes built on shifting sands though.
  20. Righto, you must be one of these who have loads of blubber to insulate themselves and stand in the ground shirtless throughout the game. 15 degrees aint 'balmy' especially with a northerly wind behind it.
  21. Would he have been banned for the EFL Cup game? Players now only get banned for the domestic competition they got a red card so a red in a PL game doesnt carry a suspension in an EFL or FA Cup game. But I agree. They introduced an independent panel but gave themselves a double jeopardy clause. This at the least should have a high bar for a successful appeal such as new or unseen video evidence and not, the FA dont like the decision.
  22. Breaking: Jurgen banned from the touchline for this game. Bollocks! Wrong thread!
  23. A tragic story from some months ago. If you believed in a deity, you'd thank yourself to it for being safe. Utterly tragic. A heavily pregnant woman from Mariupol, a photo of whom became one of the defining images of the Ukraine war, begged medics to let her die after she learnt her unborn baby would not live. Irina Kalinina was dragged out of the rubble of the city’s maternity hospital on March 9 after it was struck by a Russian airstrike. She was taken out on a stretcher, a stark image illustrating that made front pages around the world and became synonymous with the horrors of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. But Irina and her newborn son, who was delivered by emergency Caesarean at a local hospital, eventually succumbed to their injuries. 'I don't know how to describe the pain and loss' Her identity was not known at the time, but she has now been identified by her husband, Ivan, who has since sought refuge in Porthcawl, South Wales. He told BBC’s Panorama they had been trying for years to have a child, and had already named their unborn son Miron, after the Russian word for peace. He said he felt “completely destroyed” after his wife and child were killed in the attack. "I don't know how to describe the pain and loss,” Mr Kalinina said. "I was completely destroyed. I was disappointed in everything. I couldn't believe Irina died." Mr Kalinina said the picture still provokes angry and painful memories of the tragic day he lost his wife and child. Oksana Kyrsanova, an anaesthetist at Mariupol Regional hospital, witnessed the moment Miron was removed from his mother’s womb. “The baby was taken out showing no signs of life. I saw tears streaming down the faces of my colleagues,” she said. Irina begged the medics not to be saved after learning her baby had not survived the attack, she said. The mother also eventually died of her injuries. They were both placed in the same bodybag by the medics. "It is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen in my life. Packing a young woman in a black bag with her baby who we laid over her breast," Ms Kyrsanova said. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/11/11/pregnant-mariupol-woman-begged-medics-let-die-told-baby-would/
  24. I dont think Kelleher is a better keeper than Alli. All he's done in a small sample of games is shown his penalty saving technique and ability to take a spot kick. Yeah, Alli has made mistakes especially when trying to play the ball out with his feet but shot stopping, collecting crosses and general distrubution with the ball is better. Plus Alli has shown he was able to score a goal from open play. Yes, I'd love to keep Kelleher but like mentioned on the pod, I dont think he's going to be satisfied with a couple of cup games a season. I dont think you can put him in the team for a couple of PL games either (and it's too late for CL group games) because if he plays and we lose, some people will just go 'we wouldnt have lost if Alli had played.' It's unfortunate that keeper is the one position in a team you cant keep 2 very good players happy, one is always going to be understudy and wanting regular games.
