  1. And what about the "this time last year Liverpool were 13 points off the top and now they are only 10" We had 27 points, as if it was Roy that had conspired to ensuring the Chavs and Manure were 9 pts worse off this year. I'd give my right testicle to have 27 points now. We'd be 5th 5 points off top.
  2. "journeyman, middle-of-the-road footballers" - Alan Smith. I'm not having that. He was a good striker who won a lot of trophies. Otherwise, it's a good post.
  3. Dunne and Collins are struggling as they are very good at Martin O'Neill type defending, manning the 18yd box, last ditch defending and hoofball but Ged wants them to push up and play a high line and they are struggling with. It's why Dunne struggled under Hughes at Man City and why he got rid. Strange how it never gets mentioned that O'Neill sold a now £15m rated CH for £5m and replaced him with Curtis Davies for £9.5. I'd prefer Dann or Cahill rather than Shawcross as they seem more comfortable on the ball and he seems a bit rash to me. I think that if Manure were going to sign Shawcross they would have done it by now so might not be the stumbling block some here think, if that's who we decide upon.
  4. Answer to 1st line - Or maybe it's you and your shite tactics? Answer to 2nd line - Or maybe it's you and your shite tactics? I honestly believe that if this group of players had a manager that just said on a Saturday, "go out, press high up the pitch, play and enjoy it", they'd have more than 1 away win this season.
  5. Reina Johnson Skrtel Carra Konch Kuyt Lucas Mereiles Maxi Ngog Torres Gomes Hutton Gallas Kaboul Assou-Ekkoto Lennon Modric Jenas Bale vdVaart Crouch I predict this is how both teams will line up. Surely our 11 should not fear that Spurs side and should have a real go at them. Their defence is their weak link and their midfield are poor defensively as well, bar Bale who is good at protecting the LB. Let them off the leash Roy and press high up the pitch, please!!!!!!!
  6. I suppose like most here I am gutted that our club is subjected to something so ugly. Throughout the season our top players will score and create goals, Reina will make great saves and we will win games throughout the season but not enough and we will end up midtable at best. However, if Torres or Gerrard or perish the thought, our unbreakable no.1 get injured we are in serious danger of getting relegated. I am hopeful that the owners realise that results and performances like this is the norm and it aint getting any better under the present management.
  7. You do realise you moron, that the world economy is fucked and it's cretins like your buddy Hicks that created the debt ridden false economy that we and generations after us will have pay for. Clown!!
  8. The united front 6 after Hargreaves went off was Obertan, Fletcher, O'Shea, Park, Bebe and Hernandez. Granted they got 3 pts but their squad is getting worse and worse. That's the 1st thing that happens when there is a lack of investment as we well know.
  9. Gyan and Bent the only 2 scorers for Sunderland this year. And we are supposed to be a 2 man team
  10. ------------Reina------------- Johnson Krygiakos Skrtel Konchesky Maxi Lucas Meireles Kuyt -----------Gerrard------------ -----------Torres------------ Against the big teams Johnson doesn't get forward as much and seems more solid. Zhirkov and Ramires will start if Essien does not make it. We have a great chance to get the better of the midfield battle if Lucas Raul and Gerrard play an attacking aggressive type of game.
  11. And what Di Matteo is doing at West Brom even more
  12. I'm just wondering why fellas are advocating Coyle over Di Matteo. I can see similarities - both are young and have won promotion playing good football but Di Matteo has continued to play attractive football and would have a lot more contacts and respect in the game, something that would probably be required at Anfield.
  13. 4 super, absolutely spot on and very well put articles. That's what journalism used to be about, telling the truth! I'm gonna e-mail that piece to all my delusional sky brainwashed friends.
  14. If we go young I'd rather someone like Di Matteo. He'd have contacts over Europe, has learned his trade in lower divisions, seems a sensible lad and most importantly plays good football.
  15. I think Di Matteo will be an excellent manager. At the moment I don't know if I'd be willing to give him a job as big as Liverpool manager but I think he's on the up and up.
