    This signing would make no sense at all! If Torres was injured, Owen Couldn't replace him as a lone striker he's nowhere near good enough. We have Got Torres, Kuyt,N'gog and Nemeth plus Voronin coming back. I would rather we keep Voronin as our back up striker than bring back Owen. !!!

    So he wants Ribery and Alonso. Well if Bayern are demanding 74 million for Ribery, I reckon we should hold out for 60 Million for Xabi.

    The Figo deal was and still is, a crazy crazy deal! It would be like Ronaldo moving to us this summer, although I honestly believe Rafa would pick Dirk over Ronnie anyway!

    I could understand bringing Fowler back, as we were struggling to score goals plus he deserved another chance and got us some crucial goals on his return. The difference with Owen is the manner in which he left plus unlike Fowler, Owen has always relied on his pace to score goals which now seems to completely have gone. I would rather we re signed Fowler for a second time as I believe he is currently in much better shape that Owen!

    PSG CWC Final 1997. As with so many big games in that period, Liverpool froze. Another (and final) chance to complete the set. This was a semi final???? we lost 3-0 away and won 2-0 at anfield

    You honestly think the Spanish league is the best in the world??? To me, its less competitive than even the Scottish league! Barca are awesome no question, but after that its just awful! Real Madrid, the next best team in the league would have finished behind all the big four and Villa and Everton if they were a premier league team. It says a lot for the remaining Spanish teams that none of them could finish above the worst Real Madrid side in recent years.

    Man United were completely overran in midfield tonight. Carrick and Anderson were shown up for what they really are, average at best. Shocking to say it but they really missed Fletcher tonight. Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Barry if we get him are better than any of the mancs central midfielders, now that scholes is past his best.

    To any Manchester United fans who've got an empty feeling inside them now that they've just lost their grip on the Champions League trophy................................ Just make a short Journey over to Anfield because we've got one permanently on display!

    Imagine if the real reason Rafa wanted to sell Alonso was because we'd already lined up a deal for Iniesta, and it turned out Gareth Barry was just a smokescreen to divert the media off the scent.

    Babel will almost definitely leave in the summer, he's gone backwards this season, and if we need to sell before we can buy, he will command a good fee of around 8 million with add ons.

    it all comes down to whether Villa sell Gareth Barry......... again. Xabi really deserves better.

    I think i'm right in saying only 20 of those players have played a first team game in the league for us this year. The rest are either out on loan or young players in the reserves, many of whom i'd expect to have left by the start of next season.

    I honesty think it'll be very close between us, Chelsea and the shite. some weekends 3 points may not be enough, we will need to score plenty of goals too.

    The only four players I want us to bring in this summer are Tevez,Silva,Albiol and Barry, although this would cost us around 70 million for all four! I think we should keep Alonso, and offload Babel,Voronin,Lucas,Dossena El Zhar and Leto. This gives us a squad of thus, Reina, Cavalieri Arbeloa,Albiol,Carragher,Agger,Skrtel,Aurelio,Insua Alonso,Mascherano,Barry Gerrard,Benayoun,Silva,Riera, Torres,Kuyt,Tevez,N'gog Giving us a squad of 20 first team players, but occasionally calling on the likes of Spearing, Darby and Nemeth.

    A player that has been linked with us in the past is Valencia's Raul Albiol. A versatile player good enough to play at centre back, right back or in midfield. He's only 23 years old and is vice captain at the Mestalla. I think they want about 15 million for him though, which we may struggle to afford but I think he'd improve the strength of the squad no end and could cover us for the departure of Hyypia, and allow us to move Degan and Lucas on.

    Tevez will definitely quit the scum in the summer, ol whiskey nose has got an awful reputation in Argentina for his mistreatment of Tevez this year, and Heinze and Veron previously. The only problem we have is we can't afford him, well unless we sell Alonso.

    I think its mainly to do with their awesome home record 16 wins 1 draw 1 defeat 49 points from 54 is some going! Even though we're unbeaten at home in the league, too many draws have cost us. Hull,Man City,Fulham, Everton. If we'd had lost 2 and won 2 of them games we'd have been better off.

    we need to sign 4 players this summer. David Silva Carlos Tevez Raul Abiol Gareth Barry It will probably cost around 70 miilion for all 4 players which means one of two things. sell someone like Alonso to raise funds or not sign one of the above players, one of either Tevez or Silva. If we offload Babel,Dossena, Voronin, Pennant, Hyypia that should give us around 15 million plus the money from Keane plus whatever has been set aside for transfers?

    No way will Wigan keep a clean sheet in this game. The best we can hope for is 1-1

    Sorry if this has already been posteb but i just spotted it on the sky sports website. MOST SHOTS WITHOUT A GOAL Player Team Goals Attempts Downing Middlesbrough 0 60 Nolan Bolton/Newcastle 0 38 Palacios Wigan/Spurs 0 37 Muamba Bolton 0 32 Downing has not scored all season despite having 60 shots on goal!

    I honestly don't think the Share Liverpool Fc project is actually seen as a possible takeover plan but more another chance for Taylor to boost his own image, and Ego! Does he honestly think he is the messiah, come to the rescue of this club and we should all follow him, with our wads of cash, ready to dance to his tune? The proposed 500 million we need to raise most likely wouldn't be enough anyway, as the Yanks would simply sell to the highest bidders.

    Goals??? I don't think any player can guarantee goals, well unless we sign someone like Shevchenko or Kezman or Robbie Keane, oh wait:wallbutt: We need to bring in someone that can play across any of the forward positions someone like David Silva or Mauro Zarate, whos done very well at lazio this year. Torres will clearly be our number one striker, so we need either N'gog, Nemeth or Babel maybe to step up and push him for a first team place.
