  1. Not as good a racket as the goalkeeping coach I'd guess...
  2. We'll see Ings playing before Sturridge
  3. This is the icing on the shit cake really, if we were playing well it wouldn't be too much of a problem but we have literally no options to rotate meaningfully at the moment.
  4. Possibly, but he does it far too much, holds onto the ball far too long for 90% of the time.
  5. Im fairly certain that he's not telling Lallana to do another Cruyff turn once he's beaten his man though.
  6. Think you've nailed the lack of goals problem in the 3rd to last paragraph Dave, we have 3 of the same players all trying to do the same thing and it's clear to me too that another forward would be much better. Obviously when we have 2 fully fit ones available! Failing that I can't see why we couldn't try Ibe there, get him playing closer to goal and I think he could be good there.
  7. When (If) he develops a brain we'll have an excellent player, until then he remains a raw work in progress. In my opinion at the moment he needs 2 very good fellow midfielders alongside him to help bring him on as well - stating the totally obvious he'd come on leaps and bounds with the likes of an Alonso and a Masch alongside him. With any of the current bunch, less so....which remains a very large problem for me and why it is of utmost importance we address it in January/in the summer. .
  8. We start finding a way of scoring goals at home we get top 4, I'm convinced of it. Everton, Leicester and Spurs are testament to that's all you need in this league to be half decent and it masks all other deficiencies. See also our league challenge a couple of years ago.
  9. The season that keeps on giving this isn't it?
  10. A game that i don't think we deserved to lose, however when you look at the goals we conceded and compare it with how the Palace defenders cleared their lines then it's actually arguable we did deserve to lose. Can and Moreno both were brain dead for their first and Migs reaction to the first Dann header was poor(incidentally i thought that Dann did exactly the same that the Bournemouth lad did and climbed over his marker to get his header in - goes to show that the decisions can go either way) Benteke was very poor, worst player on the pitch and once again Lallana flatters to deceive - no end product to what is at times some very nice approach play, but we need him to start either putting the ball on the spot or chipping in with a few. Dishonourable mention to Can as well who as i've already mentioned to above doesn't engage his brain anywhere near enough. Its his biggest flaw as you can't fault his effort since Klopp has come in. On the positive side Lucas had a decent game and did his job well, give the ball to the more skilful players. Mad moment aside i thought Moreno was actually half decent but when you make a fuck up the only way you can 100% make up for it is by contributing to a goal. Coutinho saw a lot of the ball but the poor movement ahead of him didn't help. I just think that having him and Lallana in the team at the moment affects the attacking options in terms of the final ball and i'd prefer another striker instead or Firmino. Ibe looks a totally different player as well. Final note, and I think it might finally make a few people start looking at themselves is Klopp's comments about the crowd. The atmosphere at Anfield is generally shite and is something that we've been trading off for a long time in my opinion. I'm barely a match going fan these days and watch nearly all our games on TV (get to probably only one game a season nowadays)but when i can hear the players on the pitch and see fans leaving with 10 minutes left when we are only one goal behind it's fucking disgraceful, and I don't need to be a match going fan to be able to say it. You go to the game, you support the fucking team it's as simple as. If that means you get home half an hour later then so be it, otherwise get your priorities in the right place, what are you going - to support the team or sit there grumbling or be a mute and bugger off cos you don't think we'll score. We've got a manager who says what he sees and doesn't make bland statements so if he is commenting on it then the fans need to take heed too and raise their game. I'm not saying be a happy clapper but we definitely need to get back to the crowd being a factor again.
  11. We need a lot of players, but we desperately need some presence in the midfield asap, in my opinion we have nobody who can dictate a game. Beyond that a reliable striker ( as in fitness as well as quality)is an absolute must for next summer, just cos I don't think we would get one in a January window and I also think that one of Sturridge or Benteke will have to go next summer, we cannot have both our main strikers spending so much time on the sidelines. Someone like Aubamayang would be awesome, but probably on the radar of someone with very deep pockets next year. I'd also like to think that Klopp has a lot more pull in terms of getting in players as opposed to what BR could. If he can pull out some gems like Rafa did I'll be a very happy bunny. More Alonso type gems than Riera ones though!
  12. The way i see it is that Klopp's inherited a mediocre, unbalanced squad and has been further hindered by not having most of his attacking options available. He's not been dealt a kind set of cards for his first couple of hands but this is something 18 months in the making prior to his arrival. In most situations following a change in manager you see an uplift in effort in an attempt to impress the new boss, our problem hasn't been the effort it's a distinct lack of quality he's inherited. £300m or so spent in 3 and a bit years down the line we shouldn't really be in this situation, even allowing for the 'big' names leaving. It feels like the BR era has set us back further than a lot of us (me included) realised. I'll whinge and moan a bit when the inevitable poor results follow but deep down I know that I'm going have to show a lot of patience whilst all this is unravelled.
  13. I agree, just thought it needed saying given it's yet another game he's missed where we could have used him.
  14. I've reached the point where I'd sell Sturridge for even a half decent fee. I can't see it getting any better especially with the high energy game Klopp wants, it'll ruin him even more if thats actually possible.
  15. I like him, early days I know but I think he's shown some Dirk-like qualities, seems to be a good egg too. Fucking ridiculous he didn't see a moment of action till the 4th game of the season - on the wing...
  16. One all, at home, against a fucking 4th division team. Even if we get through this shootout for fucks sake please somebody let it end
  17. Just bought a raspberry Pi and got Kodi on it, been arsing around with it for 2 nights and can't get anything to work. I've done all the add ons, such as fusion, Genesis etc and can't find anything. Anybody else have issues with it?
  18. I'm just completely numb to it all now, todays result wasn't a surprise. I dont know what's worse; the fact he won't admit he's out of his depth and resign or the fact that those above him won't take the decision out of his hands and get rid cos the fingers will then be being pointed at them.
  19. I beg to differ, those bunkers were absolute carbuncles on the neighbourhood.
  20. For me he is worse than the owl, and you've pretty much highlighted the reason. Rodgers is a manager that's had an unprecedented amount of money spent on his squad, irrespective of committee signings or not it's a ridiculous amount of money and we are dropping further and further backwards. All that money spent and we're playing 433 with at least 4 players out of position, it's nothing short of incompetence. Hodgson was always the wrong manager and a defeatist tithead too. Rodgers is proving a lot of people right who said the job was too big for him from the start, I was always willing to give him a chance as he seemed to want to do things a certain way and had his 'philosophy' but I'm convinced now he is nothing more than a lucky bastard who blagged his way into the job from the start and took me along for a ride for a while. There is no plan, there is no philosophy - he had one great season purely on the basis of having one of the planets best players having the season of his life and dragging others along with him, including a manager who rode on his coat tails.
  21. This rot started last season when we decided we weren't going to go at teams anymore and arse around with it with one man up top constantly isolated. A lot of people put this down to Balotelli being shite, which he was, but we've supposedly got an upgrade and we are making him look equally ineffective.
  22. To be honest i wouldn't be averse to him being loaned to somewhere in the Premier League *if we can get someone daft* enough to take him, even if we end up subsidising his wages. Bit of a win win really as he can't play against us(not that i'd be worried if he did) and if he does well we get a decent fee instead of having to settle for peanuts from some broke Italian club after paying the vast majority of his wages as well. If it doesn't go well we're not in that much of a worse position in that we'd have to flog him for very little anyway, I just think a PL loan gives us more of a sporting chance of getting a decent fee. * i can't emphasise this point enough. Maybe a team like Newcastle?
  23. We've got more chance of a yeti lining up for us under Rodgers.
