  1. Tough call. Nah, not really, the Bloos every time, for the comedy value if nothing else. They’d be back after a season, but getting relegated might just give them the shock they need for reality to kick in and be accepted. Newcastle? Will no doubt have a long term plan, but when the ESL eventually arrives, they just might be excluded as nobody outside of this country will know who they are.
  2. This kind of warped shit needs reporting, there’s piss taking then there’s this. Totally unacceptable.
  3. Remember Terry saving himself for the fifth against United in Moscow (?) and slipping on his arse and hitting the post. It was a final I thought we couldn’t have a winner in until that happened.
  4. Any action against City will have to be 100%, cast iron provable because they’ve already made it clear they’ll just tie up any action against them with counter legal action lasting years and costing all parties a fortune, not that it will bother them as they can afford it. However, if ultimately they were to be found culpable, even after drawn out legal action, they know they will get the maximum penalties applied, including possible relegation and being stripped of their titles*. Anything less would make the whole idea of making them accountable a farce.
  5. You can’t uncover that which you aren’t looking for.
  6. Thank you Bob. But I’m just a fan and not a Professional who should, with the technology available, be able to make that call with his eyes shut, having played the game. Makes you wonder if there’s an agenda here. No mention of the 60m pass from TAA either. Pricks.
  7. Jota went to flick the ball over the keeper and completely missed the ball. Maybe that should have been enough to disallow any penalty because he’d miscontrolled the ball, perhaps not. Jota’s movement towards the keeper though was because that’s the direction he’d tried to flick the ball over him, fuck all with trying to draw a foul, but hey, he’s a conniving scouse cunt so what the fuck, he’s cheated Palace and the ref. Nonetheless, the keeper didn’t know he was going to mis-control the ball and would have wiped him out even if he had made the flick over him, so on balance, the keeper has wiped him out, so yes, penalty. Fuck you Jenas.
  8. Couldn’t give a crap if we win every game like this from now until the end of the season. Even then it might not be enough as we’d still be needing City to drop three points. But it’d make for a great end to the season if we could, and City’s resolve would be under real pressure, I think they’d crack first, but it’s unlikely to go that way. As for the penalty, well, you win some, you lose some, and we’ve lost more than we’ve won so fuck ‘em. I’d still love us to stick it to them in the CL more than anything else, preferably in the final, because that’s what their shithouse owners crave for the most, and the longer their “Champions Wall” or whatever they have keeps that at zero the better.
  9. Are there a more entitled set of fans than Arsenal fans? Think they thought they’d done all the work at Anfield. Need to keep up the work rate and watch the diving that’ll no doubt gather pace this half. Not sure that Atkinson hasn’t got a dodgy call in him that’ll not be overruled by VAR so we need to keep it tight and take every chance we can.
  10. As much an influence on what we have today as anyone else in the Clubs history. RIP Mr Robinson.
  11. Plucky display by Brighton and a deserved point. Calmer play in the Chelsea half and area and they should’ve took the three points. Lamptey took the piss out of Alonso all night and I thought he looked very useful. Wonder how Tuchel explains this away.
  12. There’s a world of difference between calculating what could happen and what is likely to happen for the rest of the season. True, if we beat them, we need them to drop 5/6 more points than we will and, presumably Chelsea won’t have a perfect record either to overtake us both should we drop enough points for that to happen. The only possible way I can envisage them dropping points is if they end up having to make enough changes to concentrate on, what I believe is, the holy grail of the CL, and in doing that they drop points that way. Still a massive ask and the head says they’ll win it by a distance even if the heart won’t give it up until it’s mathematically certain. The Champions League though, now that’s another matter……..
  13. He hasn’t got the best right foot in the world, but I do like Ward-Prowse. It would have been interesting to see how he might have been if Klopp had have got him a few years ago.
  14. Why are we worrying about what is happening at Everton? The time to worry is if they ever ask themselves “What would the Everton Board do?” They plainly haven’t been doing that any time in the recent past. Long may it continue.
  15. Sadly accurate report. It was one of those games where you knew early on we probably wouldn’t score. As soon as Xhaka was sent off and they went 5 at the back, I was looking for us to change the 3 defensive midfielders we had and add a bit more positivity and attacking threat. It didn’t happen until way too late and Arsenal, yes Arsenal, had played themselves into a semi decent defending block who looked as though they were happy to put themselves in the firing line to keep it to nil. No point in repeating who was playing shite as there were times when every one of our players made simple basic mistakes, apart from Matip. The lads who came on improved us a bit, but I expect many of us left thinking we should have kept the kids in the team. That’s the most damning thing that can be said, and while any team is entitled to have an off day, we really can’t afford them if we’re to pick any silverware up this season. I don’t expect Arsenal to be as good defensively as last night, or us to be so turgid and so next Thursday could still see us through, it’s only half time as they say! But we need to get the sluggishness out of the way against Brentford, who’ll have seen that performance and Salah and Mane away and will be thinking we’re there for the taking, and I’m not just talking about the players either, for pretty much the first time I thought Klopp was at fault last night in not making changes as quickly as Arteta did and it could have made a big difference if he had.
  16. Very well done series. Maxine Peake is a fabulous actress and was brilliant in the role. Tough watch at times though, and brought back feelings of sadness and of course, anger. Don’t mind admitting there were a few tears being brushed away. I had a mate a few years ago who was a copper in Merseyside Police, he’s a Blue too, but a pretty sound lad. We only ever talked about Hillsborough once, several years after it happened, and he said to me that they were trained to treat crowds, particularly football crowds, as a “fluid force”, that if you stopped the flow at one point, then it would flow around you to another point, but that it was their job to anticipate and counter the flow becoming dangerous to the public. I remember he said that they’d plainly got it wrong at Hillsborough, and he was always uncomfortable with how the West Midlands and South Yorkshire Police forces had gone about their “duties” afterwards. He also said Bettison was disliked and couldn’t understand how he’d been appointed Chief of Merseyside Police. Sadly, we’ve all known for decades what went on, and I will never forgive the slimy cover up from our so called betters that caused so many years of hurt and angst for everyone affected by it.
  17. Good points there, I also feel Jones has stalled somewhat and possibly because he’s been asked to play a more “safe” game? Certainly his performances have changed, but I’m not savvy enough to say exactly why.
  18. I suppose doing his Team of the Week keeps him busy.
  19. There are still those who believe the Earth is flat. Not a big jump to realise there’ll always be some who believe they know better than the actual truth and proven facts. Or who just have an agenda and always will have.
  20. Keith Weller at Leicester, liked him a lot, think he may have got a handful of England caps but was a good player.
  21. An off night all round. Can’t afford too many of them, or draws. Not over yet, but starting to look like almost perfection is going to be required if much more of this goes on, City unlikely to be leaving too much wriggle room. Next.
