  1. What the article doesn't say is that Purple Aki was in there as well.
  2. He's a fucking awesome player who'd run through a brick wall for his club. He puts his body on the line time after time. He works his arse off. He supports his teammates without any thought of his own personal glory. He's a dynamic player who just never stops. Who am I talking about? Mascherano or Kuyt? Because for me, they both have the same attributes as players - and the same faults. Neither of them scores enough goals. Both of them are the heartbeat and the engine of the team.
  3. Their press machine tries though : "including the rain Manchester occasionally experiences" - FFS, what bellends. Can't even accept that!
  4. So that's what happened to Claudio Rainieri. I liked it -- that's what banter is supposed to be like. Harmless and funny (-ish).
  5. Not one of you wished him a happy birthday - miserable sods. Happy Birthday mate. Any photos of your bird?
  6. Setanta are like a breath of fresh air for me too-- except for their frigging commercials and irritating music! The bottom half of Lansdowne developed major stress cracks after the U-20 world cup, so they had to knock it down. They are planning a new facility there.... honest. Despite the fact that the mayor is the most corrupt (allegedly) human being in the city (takes some doing with the Tories in power) (allegedly). BUt hey, as long as we can still have the farmers market and the Central Canada Exhibition, who the hell needs an outdoor sports facility? James Sharman is an arse -- he is a big red, apparently, but has a face like a younger version of Dick Howard and is more annoying than Vic Rauter. If nobody outside Canada knows who I am talking about, onsider yourselves lucky. Nunavut. Why?
  7. It's all propagated by lazy journalism. The worst are the dickheads in North America. Even people who should know better jump on the bandwagon. The irony is that in places like Montreal, it's the ice hockey fans that riot -- yet any crowd disturbance will inevitably draw the "soccer hooligan" comments. Of course, when knobends do shows like Football Factories it sort of defeats the purpose. Twats, I hate them all. In fact. When all is said and done, I just hate everyone. Misanthropy can be very, VERY satisfying.
  8. Accies fielded an extremely experimental side for this game and it was the Liverpool Reserve team that came away with a victory. Manager Billy Reid played no fewer than 5 trialists from the start, with another coming into the action after the break. None of the team that won at Inverness started the game, although several of the top team squad were involved. The good news for Accies was that David Elebert played the full 90 minutes as he continues to gain fitness. Liverpool opened the scoring with a first half header from centre half Ronald Huth that looped over Accies 'keeper Sean Murdoch. Accies equalised in the second half with a smartly taken goal by Joel Thomas (left) and he nearly scored the winner from a tight angle after rounding goalkeeper Martin Hansen but his shot hit the post. Accies spent the bulk of the second half on top of the game, but it was a Liverpool substitute who won the game for his team after rounding Sean Murdoch near the end.
  9. It's not just the friendlies though, it's the competitive matches, there are way too many of them. 14 or 16 games to qualify for a Euros or WC - ludicrous. Pretty easy to rectify though - instead of having 8 groups of 8, have 16 groups of 4 - only the top team qualifies. Would make it more interesting, same number of qualifiers and reduce the fixture list. In fact, get rid of internationals altogether.
  10. The problem with these smaller countries, like the US, is that they lack the proper infrastructure. Does Setanta not broadcast where you are (they do pretty much everywhere in the US, I thought). Failing that, there's the Offal site.
  11. At least San Jose scored. Not surprising they lost really, it's pretty much the first time they'll have played together all season, I think Abo was using loads of the Academy kids in previous games. They're against Hamilton next, I think--be interesting to see what the response is.
  12. He's just a bald Neil Mellor
  13. It's the fuel surcharge. The passport only costs 75p.
  14. Give him a break mate - he may have acted like a complete twat in the past, but he's done okay here. About time too, mind.
  15. This is the perfect example of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Whoever we vote in gets to be the scapegoat - his name's already on everyone's lips. Personally, I blame David fairclough for everything, the moaning, whinging, stuttering gingeropath
  16. I don't agree with this "he's lazy" stuff. Last season, maybe - he completely lost his way after the injury. But this pre-season, FFS, he's really been one of the more hard-working players on the team. In fact, his workrate has been exceptional. He's made a huge effort, looks like he's lost some weight, has scored a couple of nice goals -- the chip against Lucerne was superb, as was his finish against Lazio -- and seemed to be bouncing back again. He's working hard and deserves a break - and that means not having people slag him all the time.
  17. I'll start posting when hamstrung changes his avatar. I lose my thought process and then it's not really wor... booooooooobies

  19. He started off well enough for me - scored a cracker against Toulouse, was brave for his goal against Derby, looked a decent striker. Then he got injured, lost confidence, struggled to adapt to England and seemed to give up. However, pre-season he has been working his arse off. He looks fit, motivated, enthusiastic and has scored (the chip he scored against Lucerne was excellent: skilfull, cool and composed). He may have deserved criticism for the middle of last season, but he also deserves praise for doing his best to turn it around. Kuyt was given the same stick last season, disgracefully in my opinion. I think Voronin will come good. He'll never be a Torres - and he may be well down the pecking order with Keane's arrival - but at least he's here, working hard, and doing his best. And so, in the meantime, and because of that and because he's a Liverpool player, he'll get my support... however childish that may be to some people.
