What concerns me most about everthing Hicks has done is the following; He came into the club openly admiting he didnt know much about football. 6 months later he feels he is qualified to sack rafael benitez and replace him with jurgen klinsman. I agree, my priority would be a wide player/player who can play in the position Kuyt is playing in. But to be honest with you Im not alonso's biggest fan as Ive said on previous occasions an I think he will be off in the summer or should I say It wouldnt surpise me if he was. If we still intend on playing this formation that would require us to get a centre mid to play alongside masch and behind gerrard. Lucas has potential and I like the way he keeps the ball and his positional sense seems good. Whether he is good enough long term I think its hard to say. but either way we would need aother centre mid should alonso go. I agree with u though that a top wide player needs buying. Disagree with that. Was probably our most dangerous player (i admit it wasnt hard) against united at anfield when he came on as a sub. I think his fitness levels are a concern. Hopefully he will adapt to the pace of the prem. He is quick, strong, direct but agree he lacks confidence. He is one of them that could turn into a top top player and iv got a feeling he might look a different player next season.

you play gerrard in the middle for me every time. I personally think where gerrard is playing now with torres suits him down to the ground. My concern would be if torres was out injured I think in this formation there would be far too much pressure on Gerrard. But havin a world class striker in torres complements him so well. Imagine havin the formation we have now with someone like fabregas in the alonso position. Would be immense.

Im in he middle in regard to Bentley. I probably need to watch more of him to make a definite decision. He is defo better than anything we have on the right but whether he will solve the right sided problem im not sure. Im going to reserve voting on this one till I see a bit more of him. What I would say in Bentley's defence is he scores goals(can do it from nothing) is a good crosser of the ball and is a good set piece taker.

Not a better passer of the ball than gerrard. I have no doubt his pas completion would be higher, but gerrard usually looks to go forward. Alonso goes sidewards.
