  1. I remember watching Keane play centre back for Nottingham Forest and in centre midfield and he was fucking supreme. He was the first player I looked at and thought that he would be the bollocks for us. £3.3 Million or something like that? I heard a story that we had bought someone like Paul Stewart and didn't have the funds to complete the deal. £2.2 million we spent on that.
  2. He is in need of a rest. He has looked knackered at times. We need to look at the best way for him to play less for Argentina, you can't keep playing without a break. I see the best defensive midfielder in the world infront of a solid quality defence. What a magnificent base on which to mould a great attacking unit, trusted to press forward with freedom to express themselves. Quite why we have such a great defence and Mascherano and play cautiously is frankly beyond me. Why is EVERYONE back at corners etc with no out ball? Babel said in an early interview words to the effect that he is only instructed on his defensive responsibilities. I would leave that to the defence and Mascherano with the attacking players having a defensive responsibility, to be defensively aware, but who focus on attacking and winning the bloody game. Instead, we have a great defensive unit, one of the best, and get everyone else focused on doing as much of their job for them that they can.
  3. 1. Gerrard. quality play, made my heart beat with pride when he set up Nando. 2. Sami Hyypia. 3. Insua.
  4. I think its also great for him to be playing in such a good defence with the captain of Argentina playing in midfield and for a manager as good as Rafa at organising defences. He has a good chance.
  5. Its fantastic to watch a young player coming through. Its even better for me if i feel that they have a real shot at success. I wish him all the best.
  6. The star of the team in my view. Fowler was just there to put the ball into the net for Mcmanaman. Macca set up so many tap ins. My favourite player of the time. I saw him play at Crystal Palace I think it was in the semi of a cup in the 1990's where he had the ball for 90 minutes and absolutely took the piss. Yes, he needed a free role but he had the energy and skill to do it. Would love him now (and John Barnes!)
  7. Because I really am a cunt, I hate people and their filth and know that every behaviour you display is in order to get something that your filthy self desires. Everyone thinks I'm really nice and that I believe in doing good. Cunts. Hello everyone.
  8. Ngog, fuck me I don't get it. Scored next to nothing at PSG and comes in above the likes of Nemeth. I do appreciate that he is comig back from injury. Babel, I've lost it with this one. Absolutely no chance of making it with us. I've been looking for a sign with him, tried to convince myself, but no. His performance when he came on tonight was almost laughable.
  9. Blimey what a goal. Brilliant technique that.
  10. I remember him, he was the most amazingly slow player I had ever seen. Stig, I did dislike. I was always amazed at the 'new' Thuram, European cup winner, Djimi Traore. He gets my vote I think. Probably a lovely chap, but in general terms a massive liability on the pitch.
  11. I think Babel is a striker. He has all the skills needed to be a winger but it doesn't seem to work for him, as intended. I agree with Kaizer, his best work has come more centrally. Babel on the wing. He looks like a player playing out of positions, unsure and often trying too hard. Its not natural, thats really what I'm seeing. He may well be the best option we have for the wing at times, either right or left, but if he is to reach his potential, it will be up front, IMO.
  12. The old 'I like Alonso more than Mascherano' debate, eh Kaiser? I like how you learn and are able to change tactics. You were pulled up on this on YNWA. You now choose to include Mascherano in some of your MOM votings to avoid getting pulled up in the same way. You have said, in this thread, that Mascherano is a "superb player in his position". Tell me about the position that he plays, the value of the role in comparison to other roles and whether you would play a player in that "position" on a regular basis, even if that player was Javier Mascherano?
  13. I was thinking that too. I'm much happier with our leveraged buy out in comparison with Thaksins money and the many human rights debates that we could have had.
  14. Sometimes I can see why Liverpool fans are seen as precious. Gerrard has been a top performer and he did one thing wrong where the full facts are unknown and yet that is a problem for some. Souness, in my opinion our greatest ever player, makes a bad mistake at an all time low point in his life, APOLOGISES AGAIN AND AGAIN, yet will remain outcast by some from the club that clearly still means so much to him. Well, I forgive them both and I love their passion for this club. I fucking love them.
  15. Rashid is right, we need better. To that end, I would sell Alonso and sign Flammini for free. He played left back to last seasons CL final so has Barry type versatility and is more mobile and technically better. Then, use the money for the wide areas. Wonderful.
  16. Danny Shittu. Always brings a smile to my face.
  17. You should take over Tom Hicks' PR campaign, coming up with shit like that. Engineering concepts or people into the heart of good reds. Your a snake and I'll be watching out for you, lid.
  18. Thats the best thing I've heard in ages. Thanks.
  19. Man United -V- Chelsea Arsenal -V- Barcelona Liverpool -V- Roma Fenerbache -V Schalke
  20. Do you remember that quote about being bought a lampshade and not a sofa? We need to sign the cunt who bought the lampshade to do Rafa's buying.
