  1. I heard LFC found out he had a hole in his heart and wanted to cancel his contract? Don't know how true it is like? Just what a mate told me. Maybe completely false.
  2. On my first night of hols in Thailand. Watched the game in the Koh San Road with 4 scousers, 3 of em Evertonians. Boss lads, but getting ripped by 3 blues because we are getting fucked by Villa is not nice. First half I thought we were unlucky. 2nd half we were cluleless. Gotta be said better ball from Suarez to Gerrard in the first half would have led us being one up for sure. What makes me laugh is the bellends who called for Kenny's head last year got their wish. Why fucking moan. We are where we are. Get used to it. Kenny Dalglish on the ball, he was the greatest of them all.....
  3. FSG are experts in spin full stop. In February, after beating Cardiff, they were interviewed on tv saying "how happy they were with Kenny." Three months later they sack and humiliate a club legend. Then there was the pugwash statement "We can compete with anyone in the transfer market". Well put your money where your mouth is in January and re-sign Torres from Chelsea. I understand from Martin Broughton who me and my mates met in the park at Fulham for the away game, whilst he was walking to the ground, say "that their commitment to building a new ground was fundamental to them taking ownership". Spade in the ground spins to mind here. Dont hold your breath on Anfield redevelopment either. Then you look at the scandalous decision of loaning Andy Carroll without a replacement and surely you can see this lot are at best very naive. Prices to watch the club are soaring. For heavens sake they are charging season ticket holders who sit in the middle of the Kop more money than others in the Kop for cup games. This isnt the US. What begs belief in my mind is that so many are buying into their continued conveyerbelt of bullshit. Whilst I understand that salary wise we were punching above our weight, tell me why they didnt demand a resolution to the Joe Cole situation at the start of the season. Get him off our books and thats £4m off our salary billl for the next 3 years. If Hodgson didnt want him nor Kenny then surely that should spell the end of that contract? I could go on and on about pricing out locals, encouraging day trippers, killing the atmosphere etc etc but whats the point. They own the club, they will continue to spin, the club will continue to be divided by those who are happy to be fleeced and those that can see through them. Once upon a time our supporters were more interested in winning trophies rather than finishing 4th. I ask any red to answer hand on heart that if Kenny won the FA cup final last season, would they have laid down and accepted his exit for the arrival of Brendon Rodgers as his replacement because of our poor league position like we did this summer? Until the club is sold to its fanbase this will continue to happen I'm afraid. I believe FSG bought the club with the best intentions due to the hope of financial fair play idea. But the fact that it hasnt come into full effect and maybe wont ever be upheld due to legal reasons, it wouldnt surprise me if they are actively looking to sell the club behind the scenes now. There is no way anyone can compete with Citeh and Chelsea. Its lucky we have the draw that our players buy into our tradition as we could have lost Skrtel and Agger to Citeh at the begging of the season for the fact they could gain a major pay rise. FSG will serve up mediorocity and sell it as progress. Its what they are good at.
  4. I think for the masses that havent watched episode 4 yet, Friday could be the catalyist where a lot of our support start to question Brendon Rodgers after the screening of his team talk before, duringhalf time and full time at West Brom. I dont know why they screened it. That should be sacred and all it does is make a mockery of him. Of course they wouldnt show what he said to mix it up tactically so why bother with any of it full stop? Its a real shamefor Brendan; because of the shambles of losing Carroll and no replacement arriving we really dont have a plan b up until January. I feel sorry for him, he has been hung out to dry by whoever is responsible for not getting a replacement for Carrol. When travelling to West Brom I was telling my mates that this is the biggest opener for years due to the issue of the run of tough games straight after. It was paramount not to lose that first game and I remember saying to them that probably Norwich would be our first win of the season if we didnt beat West Brom. I'm no mystic Meg, but in my humble opinion, teams have already worked us out that we are a one trick pony so to speak. There is no different dynamic to worry about especially if we go a goal down, we dont change anything. He is putting all his faith in us winning by Plan A. Last Thursday against Udinese proved that point. He is a very young coach and he is really going to have to work hard in the next transfer window to bring in players that offer us something different. The youngsters have done very well so far and not one of them has let us down. But we cant expect them to carry us until January. Other than the fact the team needs more time together to gel, Brendon needs to keep carrying on and keep his fingers crossed that our luck infront of goal changes. What is a concern for me is that the so called 2nd team in the Europa cup seem to understand and play his style more effectively and attractively than the first team at times. Does he work better with young players?
  5. No, I appreciate that, but they originated from one source somewhere. Surely somebody can shed some light on that? Without that source then there was no story. Was it Duckenfield or the Government?
  6. I don't understand why they didn't ask that journo about where did these "Allegations" come from. I appreciate he had a job to do and McKenzie is the biggest scum bag on the planet but that would be the question I would have wanted answering on that programme tonight. I was there that day and I can say for certain there was no one raining coins down on the coppers down below. It just didn't happen.
  7. Having just watched Moneyball I wonder if during the meeting John Henry asked Roberto Martinez for ideas on birthday presents?? Maybe Rogers gave a better answer.:tease:
  8. What really makes me laugh is those blaming Kenny and Commoli. They really need to get a grip of themselves. Remember the lauded Fernando Torres abandoned ship at the 11th hour of the Jan 2020 transfer window. We had, at best, hours to find a replacement and with £50m in our kitty, whoever we bought at the 12th hour was going to be vastly overpriced to make the most of the opportunity. Ashley took full opportunity to make as much as he could out of the deal, lets face it Carroll didnt want to come did he. Please consider how long we had left to gain a replacement and the options available. I am sure Kenny was planning on a Suarez and Torres partnership. Also lets appreciate that FSG could have said NO to the Torres bid from Chelsea, but they chose not to of course and took the money. I dont blame them for this as £50m is a lot of money and Torres was not on fire at them time. However regarding shirt sales; he was number one and could have been a big part of their future marketing and sponsorship campaigns. At an aftermatch interview on Sky Sports after the Blackburn away game last season, Brad Frediel said that Downing was just as shite in his first season with Villa, but settled down in the second season and became the player that made him so attractive to buy. Lets face it, the season before he came to us he was on fire and I understand he was the one of the top assist players that season. Last season he was a massive let down to Kenny. The club and the shirt are weighing him down too much, he has buckled under the pressure. Kenny's Diouf signing. Carrol for me was another who let Kenny down. Not until the Newcastle away game where the Geordie "faithful" showed their bile for one of their own did Carroll come to realise that we were now his club and that he should start playing for the shirt now. Since that day, the supporters put an arm round him and his performances and more importantly effort started to improve. Before that, lets face it, he was woeful and did not look like he wanted to be here. So if people want to blame Kenny and Comolli then fine, but please consider the late transfer window in Jan 2010. Kenny's signings in 2011 of Henderson, Adam and Downing werent the highest calibre but someone took the decision to buy young british talent to galvanise the team. Carragher and Gerrard have always wanted a more british spine havent they? For all but a handful of games last season I thought we played attractive good football and did enough to win every game. 2 finals as well; in my book a succesful season. Not for FSG. Failure to qualify for the champions league cost Kenny his job we were told. Well, Mr Werner & Henry; I wonder how you expect your new puppy Brendan Rogers to achieve CL qualifcation with just 2 recognized strikers at the club? To me this tells me they are selling up. There is no other explanation to the firesale of Maxi, Kuyt, Spearing , Carroll, Adam, Eccleston, Aqualani not to mention the want of sale of Pachecho, Wilson and Agger (and probably Cole). 7 gone, 4 in, Allen, Sahin, Assaidi and Yesil. Our squad is definately weaker coming out of the transfer window than going in. We are told our normal annual transfer budget is £20m since Rafa has been here. This summer we have spent £28.3m. We have recoupled in £8m from outgoing players. We have reportedly saved £24m off the wagebill. FSG havent spent a penny over the standard annual transfer budget. Click the link below to see how much or little they have put in since they have been here - £50M net spend since Hodgson was here. Lets not forget the Standard Chartered and the Warrior income. Not a lot eh? Liverpool Transfers | Premiership Transfers
  9. The club died this summer for me when they sacked Kenny. As a season ticket holder since 1984, I went to every game last season and I can only think of 5 games all season where we didn't deserve to come off the field with a win. I thought we played really well all season but the Arsenal game was the one where the bubble burst with regards to the players motivation in the league campaign. We played Arsenal off the park yet lost the game. Its football, it happens, remember the 2001 cup final at Cardiff? I don't mind us not having a sugar daddy owner; I was convinced given time Kenny would turn this around. Two cup finals in a season is a successful season for any club, but FSG wanted return on their investment and that meant Champions league qualification. I wonder if this was made crystal clear to Kenny at the outset of the season that failure would lead to him losing his job? I think not as otherwise I think eggs would have been put in other baskets. Looking back I felt very proud beating Man City over two legs last season to get to the new Wembley for the first time. A fantastic performance from the team over 2 legs. Although financially poorer we could compete with the money boys under Kenny. Last season reminded me very much of the 1986/87 season. The year before we won the double. 1987 we finished runners up behind Everton and lost a cup final against Arsenal at Wembley when Rushie scored. It was not the age of the super fan but I guess there were lots of rumblings from supporters concerned if Kenny had what it takes. Kenny went out the next season and bought Barnes, Beardsley and Houghton and the rest is history. I honestly feel that if he was still here now, we would see a massive improvement next season with a couple of signings. The players loved playing for him. The cup final proved that our 1st eleven that day were sadly not quite good enough against a team like Chelsea, but it wasn't helped not having cover in the left back and defensive midfield positions which I think were an issue as both Speo and Enrique suffered with poor form towards the end of the season. Kenny proved last year we can compete against the sugar daddy clubs without the same financial clout. We done the double over Chelsea, beat Arsenal and Man United and beat City in the cup over two legs. Unfortunately our so called supporters on Twiter and other internet forums looked at the results rather than the way we played. I wonder if half of them wanting Kenny out actually watched half the games. Someone pointed out to me after the cup final that we hit the post more times last season than Wolves final points tally. I don't know if that is true but if so then it does show how close we were to being better than we finished. We now have owners that are going to run it like a business. There is no emotion involved in their decisions and I hope they know what they are doing because I'll be honest with you - I don't. Listen to Werner's review of how happy they were with Kenny after the win against Cardiff and you wonder what really changed between March and May. The answer is 16 points from a possible 39 points, prior to that we gained 42 from 78 points. The Arsenal home game was key to our downfall after that game I think. However the spin he gave about Kenny after the cup final win and then the way they got rid of him stunk for me. For what Kenny did after Hillsborough, he should have been given next season to turn things around as a given. I don't know many that wouldn't have given him another season. The original poster has given us a very balanced account of FSG and what they stand for. My take is that I am not upset with them for running the club as a business, more so for not showing loyalty to a man we are forever in debt to and I think many others feel the same as me.
  10. All those that were so keen to get rid of the King, I hope don't get too upset when we fall further behind. Massive pressure on FSG to get this right. I don't personally hold much faith although RM will get my full support from day one if appointed. We have to as a fanbase get fully behind whoever is chosen.
  11. Harry Redknapp aint fit enough to lace the boots of Kenny Dalglish. God help us all if this is true. They clearly dont have a clue. Who is advising them to interview him, Purslow?
  12. The OP states exactly how I feel. In fact I'm fucked up with flu at the moment and I'm sure as hell bet that its been brought on by the news of Kenny being sacked.. .Seriously I havent felt as rough as this ever. Like I said to my mate at work this week; it feels like your parents have died in a car accident and you are just waiting for your new foster parents. It wouldnt matter if Mourinho, Guardiola, Messi and Ronaldo turn up - it means nothing as nobody can replace Kenny in my eyes. Kenny was my idol growing up and always will be. Fuck the accountants. Whats the point in shelling out on cup ticets next year if they dont want us to win any. We are in a recession FFS. :wallbutt:
  13. Excellent post. I agree with everything bar the comments that Carragher and Skrtel dealt with everything. In the first 20 mins, crosses were comin in where a better team would have scored two or three. In my opionion, Gerrard should be used right midfield now, certainly in a second half of games. He was inept in the first half; looked like he did against Newcastle, a half arsed attitude and performance. He was not effective in the hole behind Suarez like he needs to be. It was a big risk not playing a holding midfielder and it showed at times but I thought Shelvey did very well. Henderson appeared to step up after Shelvey was subbed. Like mentioned, Henderson made some cracking long range passes. Both are our future; a bit like Souness had in mind for Redknapp/Hutchinson but whether they will get the time to settle into a pairing I dont know. When Lucas is back its a no brainer isnt it. Thats if he returns into the same player after such a bad injury. I hope its not a Mo Sossoko episode. For me, players like Suarez and Gerrard arent getting dogs abuse, because the sky genereation like to put all the blame on the youngsters but they are equally responsible for our poor run and they too should look to raise their game. Gerrard improved to a much acceptable standard in the second half which, can be said for the rest of the team. Agger the game changer - who'd of thought?
  14. Andy Carroll has apologised to Kenny Dalglish for walking straight down the tunnel after being subbed at yesterday's game. He said he was aiming for the bench. :whoops:
