  1. Thou shalt not question Stephen Fry. (39 Seconds in.)
  2. I've applied with a couple of agencies on Dave's ESL but I think things are quiet enough there at the minute. I wanted to be gone before Christams but that's looking doubtful now.
  3. I graduated a year ago and am not sure what career path I'm going to choose. Im hopefully heading to South Korea to teach English for a couple of months; maybe even a year but beyond that Im not too sure. The last few months, I was pretty sure I was going to get into teaching but reading a post on here from Section 31 about people from university ending up in teaching or the police really got me thinking about whether I was going into teaching for the right reasons. I suppose I was heading down that direction by necessity and I wanted to ensure that any further study I did would lead onto something tangible; hence doing a PGCE which would lead into primary teaching. My last degree was in Modern History and Politics which I can resure you has not lead to a tangible carrer for yours truly. I sometimes really do think that I would have been safer off getting a job straight away after finishing school rather than getting a degree as employers don't seem to place any worth in non-practical arts degrees and would far prefer any worthwhile work experience you may have. Rambling on a wie bit now im sure; anyhow, been doing a little bit of voluntary work with youth clubs and the like and am thinking of going down that route; youth development officer, or something along those lines. Does anyone have a similar job and offer any advice?
  4. I wouldn't so much mind the non-conformist attitude displayed but what the hell were you doing in Asda at 11 am Sunday morning anyhow? Surely; that's no time for shopping.
  5. Really? You may not be a fan but he attracted nearly 10,000 people to a Commonwealth title fight tonight for fucks sake. I read your boxing posts on here and can see your a big aficionado of the sport; surely you can see that he's good for boxing if a fighter at such a modest level can garner such interest and hype. Who knows; Some of those one-time only fans who Rogan attracted to the sport may stick around to see how Paul McClosey gets on as he defends the European belt and hopefully rises higher up the light-welterweight ranks. If he's being 100% about his injury which I think he is; you'll probably get your wish and that will be the last we see of him anyhow.
  6. In fairness, when I saw the way Rogan launched at him in the first round from the get-go; I knew Rogan had no intention of going 12 rounds with him. I think he knew what ever injury was hampering him that his only chance was to get Sexton out of there as quick as he could. All credit to Sexton though; he used his jab effectively and I think he had a very good game-plan to try and thrawt Rogan; he was very economical with the amount of punches thrown and in the way he was pushing Rogan back when Rogan tried to clinch so he could launch his jab. Very difficult to see who would have prevailed if Rogan hadn't been injured; Sexton's stamina might have been tested in the later rounds and you can be sure Rogan would have took him out this time. I hope he isn't forced to retire over what ever injury he's carrying anyhow; hopefully he gets a few big more pay-days so he doesn't have to go back to doing the taxi-run to Belfast International!
  7. I certainly don't want to see Rafa sacked yet. What decent manager would we be able to attract to work for those two cunts with fundings for new signings as limited as they are right now? However; isn't it a bit ridiculous for those defending Rafa right now to use the "lack" of money Rafa has supposedly had to spend as a reason for our poor performances? He managed to get virtually the same squad minus Alonso to second in the league and nearly pip the Mancs to the title in the end. Some people here seem to be suggesting that we should downplay our expectations now all of a sudden. Have things changed so much in the last few months that it isn't reasonable to expect second or better this season as well? What would a reasonable season encompass this year for fucks sake? Fifth? Sixth? Can someone do up his net-spend for the last few years to see if Im reasonable to expect fourth?
  8. Question Time screens all audience members so they offer a decent representation of all ethnic backgrounds and political viewpoints. Presumably, the applause came from the BNP members ando thers of a far-right presuasion who also would have been in the audience.
  9. I think you make a lot of good points but this point shouldn't really matter. Call me naive but why should the location of the fight matter as to the decision? It's the same with the Malignaggi-Diaz fight. Would it be too much to ask for fights to employ impartial judges who won't be influenced by the crowd?
  10. Yeah, I agree with that. People over-exagerrate at times the agenda or lackthere of certain broadsheets. If you had to put up with the Irish version of the Indo, you would perhaps appreciate how lucky you are. It's the most popular paper in this country and most of it's articles are just taken direct from the British broadsheets. The British broadsheets are the beez kneez, trust me.
  11. I suppose this isn't the time to say that I read the Times most days then. Even worse than that; Im Irish so have to go someway out of my way to buy it as you can't just get it in the local shop.
  12. It's being shown on some new channel set up especially for the series. Primetime, channel 480 on Sky. Id say I'll probably buy it.
  13. Bacon and cheese coming out of a tube? Am I the only one that thinks that sounds rather disgusting?
  14. Are you sure that some of you aren't just tight arses? I suppose some of you are the gimps that like to have their cupboards labelled when house sharing? I personally thought that was the saddest ever thing I encountered during my time in uni. My mate also lived with one gimp in particular that used to label every personal item he bought from milk to pizzas, etc.
  15. I thought that was a very entertaining event anyhow. Great to see so many knock-outs in 3 round fights. The fact that it is only three rounds also ensures that the fighters give it their all for the short duration somewhat compensating for the relative lack of quality in the tournament. I think Audley was a cut above any of the other fighters in the tournament but I wouldn't fancy his chances against any of Rogan, Sexton, Skelton in the British/Irish domestic scene let alone see him fighting for world titles. I don't see anything wrong with him holding on to his dream though. He is obviously somewhat arrogant and most certainly a bit deluded about his chances but I do get the impression that the money isn't actually his motivating force for hanging around. More power to him.
  16. Im pretty sure I've heard some variation on this story as well. I don't mean to piss on your chips or anything but they look a bit dry. This thread reminds me of a thread a few weeks ago on football365 about someone taking a dead dog in a suitcase across London in the tube that had been told to numerous people. It's obviosuly an urban myth too.
  17. Ah, fuck Arthur and Diageo day. When is Smithwicks celebration day? That would be more my thing.
  18. My friend and I have just bought 2 bottles for a wie festival we're hitting in County Clare today for the weekend. The bottles are not to be tampered with until the party looks like its dying at around 6 am Monday morning. I'll let you all know Monday or Tueday how we get on.
  19. Yeah; I'll take one sure. Bag and River would be your best bet Andy.
  20. Is that the girl from that show There's something about Mary a few years ago? Turns out she's a man? But in answer to your question; yes I would.
  21. She would have to be some sort of mutant; a hybrid creature of some sort for me to refuse and even then; I'd say I could be convinced if only for the comedy value.
  22. It's the drink of kings; love the stuff.
  23. I read Calzaghe's book and he reckons that Collins ducked him; chose to retire rather than face him as agreed for the WBA Super Middleweight belt as Calzaghe "couldn't fill a church." Calzaghe ended up fighting Eubank instead for the vacant belt.
  24. I thought my life was exciting; being stalked by foxhounds and all that nonsense but that's nothing compared to this. We stand on the precipice and either we accept Red Eagle's (the Elder Age) plan for salvation or we're all fucked Id imagine. Count me in.
