  1. Looking for a new laptop. I know fuck all about them ,found the Acer Aspire 5920G for £569. 15.4" CrystalBrite widescreen Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 (2 GHz, 667 MHz, 2 MB Cache) 4 GB MB 250 GB BLU RAY DISC COMBO DRIVE ATi Mobility Radeon HD3470 dedicated 256 MB comes with ms office and a laptop bag any good?
  2. I don't mind that model, however I don't think you can implement it while a manager is already in place. Restructuring like this would undermine any manager at a club if someone is appointed over his head. In order for a DoF to work there must be a reasonable relationship with the manager, appointing one during a managers reign will almost certainly cause friction. If and when a new manager is appointed a change in strucure should be considered
  3. --------------Reina------------ -----Carra - Hyypia - Agger----- Darby-------------------Dossena -------Alonso - Gerrard--------- ---------Kuyt---Keane---------- ------------Torres-------------- It won't happen but I'd like to see this. We have had some good results/performances playing a 3-4-3 under Rafa. For me it's a formation in which most players are playing in a comfortable position. Hyypia must start in whatever formation we play, he is still our best defender and possibly his aerial presence is still sorely missed in his absence.

    Pepe Reina

Spot on about Buffon. Reina edges past Cech,Casillas etc for me though. Cech looks broken since his injury and i'm not convinced Casillas could play in every kind of league whereas Buffon and Reina imo could. I think Germany have some good keepers coming through in René Adler and Manuel Neuer. Both Hart and Foster look promising for England.
  5. Not every player who isn't good enough for us is shit. Carson is a decent keeper but miles behind Reina. Suprised only the promted teams were interested.
  6. Kaka is a great player, and has a class and grace about him that Ronaldo does not. If Real Madrid had any sense they would stop chasing that cunt from the Mancs and buy Kaka instead. That would keep Kaka away from chelsea and and an unhappy Cronaldo at the mancs who will sulk his way through the season. Milan claim they don't want to sell but making statements earlier in the summer about how "the fees for Kaka and Pirlo would clear our debts" doesn't suggest they would discourage large bids. He would not of even considered Chelsea in previous seasons but the presence of Scolari makes it a lot more attractive to him
  7. Downing is a good player. I think he would provide us with good balance particularly in a 4-4-2, similar to that given to us by Kewell a few seasons back when he played left and Gerrard right. He currently better than Kewell was then and a lot fitter. He is an intelligent footballer who can offer width and crossing, but can also comes inside and can play a shorter narrower game. He isn't rapid but is quite a strong runner who last season added more goals to his game. Capello has stated that Downing is the player who has suprised him most, in that he is a lot better than he thought.
  8. Carragher chief casualty in retreat from wasteland - International, Football - The Independent "When Jamie Carragher first produced a wallet in front of the childhood friends he still socialises with in Bootle he was taunted so mercilessly for betraying his working-class roots that he was given no choice but to dispense with it in the nearest bin. He has not possessed one since."
  9. There was a deadline ,I think? Tom Hicks rejects DIC bid - Liverpool Echo.co.uk Despite denials suggesting otherwise, the ECHO understands there was a deadline which demanded a response to the offer before midnight and Hicks has now met that with a flat refusal, putting the ball firmly back in DIC's court.
  10. He's on the bench today.
  11. He's been picked because he has dual nationality Spain and Serbia. Spain don't want to risk losing him so they have called him up. In my opinion he is not ready yet and he will pick up a cap but won't go to the Euro champs this summer. Big potential though and apparently a very good hard working and determined attitude.
  12. I've stated before that I would't pay £17 mil fo Mascher but seen as he is costing nothing like that then I don't have a problem. I'd also like to say He has had some very good games since I last posted and has shown more to his game than I had previously credit, so I appolige to Mascher as I know he values my opinion very highly.
  13. Pennant has a lot of the tools you think would be required to be a good player. He has an excellent first touch has reasonable skills and decent pace. Unfortunately he plays like he hasn't been coached since he was about ten years old. His off the ball play both when attacking is poor particularly when the ball is on the opposite side of the pitch. His goal return is pretty abysmal and defensively he is a liability(although he does try). Also wish he would hit his crosses with more pace rather than floating them in. A trip to the Gym (with CharleyKnight by the sounds of it) wouldn't go a miss as he is pretty weak, should take Yossi with him too. That said he has had good games and is not a bad player but not good enough.
  14. Think he's Bosnian actually, and yes he is a fantastic footballer and would be great alongside Torres.
  15. Rafa is mates with McClaren , does any body really care?
  16. I'm sure ther was some talk of him buying out his contract in the summer, or not having long left on his contract. Fantastic player, skillfull and fast.
  17. I don't actualy think cronaldo plays like a traditional winger he and most of their forwards Tevez/Rooney/Nani/Giggs tend to be allowed to play with a lot of freedom. Also a lot of their width comes from Evra at fullback.
  18. Polls like this are flawed because of personal opinions of players character rather than footballing ability. I haven't decided yet though, Del Piero was at his best when i was younger and less cynical and seeing superstars was a rare treat in the odd ITV champions league game or Football Italia/highlights on Sgorio etc. Ive seen a lot more of Totti as an adult when i have understood tactics etc but am also less in awe of players because of mass exposure. Can we not add Baggio to the poll too ?
  19. Allardyce did an effective job at Bolton but that shouldn't be confused with a good job. He didn't leave great foundations there as witnessed by there form early season. He is also proving to be inflexible tatically, trying to recreate Bolton's 433 system at Newcastle by shoe horning players in to positions in which they are uncomfortable. The true test of a manager is his willingness to learn adapt and change in order to provide improved results and success. He also needs to stop whining like a little bitch and get on with his job until he gets the boot.
  20. You can't tell what a person is like based on what they do on the pitch, or what newspapers tell you they do off it. If you haven't met someone how can really can't tell, and even then it is still only an opnion rather than a fact.
  21. What are his mental problems?
  22. Depends what you want, if a player can contribute effectively in the form of goals and assists from a particular position it does't really matter what that position they naturally play. Positionally he is similar to Yossi,Joe Cole,Hleb etc and would play from the left/right in a similar manner although Bentley probably crosses the ball more often. As it happens I rate Bentley but then I also rate Yossi so with regards to signing him I would't be adverse to it if we didn't have to fill other positions such as centre backs/full backs etc. I know you enjoy watching Arsenal and they don't play with wingers. Width in modern football is been more and more frequently provided by fullbacks.
  23. Joey Barton needs to seek some form of help. He has serious problems with anger and violence which could destroy his career. He is however not without talent. Despite this if he can in anyway contribute to fat Sam getting the boot then great.
  24. I'm a big fan of Santa Cruz even though he hardly scored for Bayern. He was only available cheap because he was made of glass,so I could understand a lot of clubs not taking a risk.
  25. I wouldn't pay that money for them either, and personally find the Mancs transfer policy excessive and offensive. Neither of them or Mascherano are as good as Xabi so I don't see the need to spend that much money. If we didn't have have Xabi then we would need to sign a top quality midfielder but as it stands we do have him.
