Yeah you are right. Reading about liverpool was shite for a month or two, Unless it was about hicks possibly selling. There was no motivation from anyone.

Second to Torres, Crouch has the best goals to game ratio at the club. Without Pennant he wouldn't. I brought it up because both players had been brought up in the thread. I wouldn't class crouch as really average. His style of play and height make him too awkward for most defences to deal with. Pennants style of play compliments him perfectly. Even if they are "average" I would get rid of kuyt kewell aurelio riise voronin before I would even consider selling pennant or crouch. Pennant unfortunately, and Im not saying hes amazing is the only winger we have with the ability to beat a man, get behind and put a decent ball in. If hes an average player at liverpool the rest of our wingers are shite. Everyones constantly talking about getting better wingers, Then the same people want rid of peter crouch. That doesnt make sense at all. Whats the point of good wingers if our strikers are midgets and n'zogbia is a higher quality than anyone we have on either wing. Of course we all have our wish list with a pro evo style buying spree but being realistic, He would be a decent addition.

Too many people on this forum judge football skill by personality. Peter crouch without Pennant would have about 2 goals this season. N'zogbia is quality. Who gives a shit if he talks to the media, Newcastle is a shambles. He is ten times better than anything we have on the left.

Yeah hes been replaced by Senderos. Celtic are more than capable of beating Barca at Celtic park, If they do well here and get a 2 goal cushion they have a chance of putting Barca out. When I think back to my childhood. Around the 90s I always remember seeing champions league football and thinking how good the Spanish, Italian and back then German sides were. They dominated Europe. Its changed now. Im seriously of the opinion that the top 4 in England are the top 4 in Europe and to be honest I think it has alot to-do with Roman Abramavich. His money pushing Chelsea from a sub-standard 4th place side to champions league hopefuls has raised the game of the other big guns of england to a standard the rest of europe just cant keep up with. Barca, Inter, Real, AC, I would rather play those 4 than United, Chelsea and Arsenal in the later stages of the cup.

Xabi Alonso has given boss Rafael Benitez a timely boost ahead of Wednesday night's Carling Cup quarter-final tie at Chelsea with the news he is fit and ready for action. The Spanish midfielder has been out since suffering a metatarsal injury in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal back in October, but after missing the last 10 matches, boss Rafa Benitez revealed he is now back in time for what promises to be a busy festive schedule. "Xabi is training normally and should be available for the game at Chelsea," said Benitez. "We are going into a busy period with lots of games so it is important to have out best players available. "So Xabi's return is a big boost." The return of Alonso adds further strength to Liverpool's midfield options ahead of the clash at Stamford Bridge, but they will have to continue to cope without defender Daniel Agger, who is still not ready for a return to action.

The problem was the same problem every year. We get scared of the attacking threat united pose. Our center midfielders always hesitate going forward. Our wingers aren't that good and the gap between midfield and the strike force becomes far too big and easy to defend agains't, Then united catch us with a set piece.
