  1. Agreed, they all had their scarves above their heads and were awaiting YNWA when Z cars suddenly came on. A few of them looked a little confused to say the least and I don't think they had a clue what was going on but they respected it none the less.
  2. I have to admit that I had my reservations about Z Cars being played but I was wrong. This turned out to be a very fitting gesture and the rendition of YNWA was superb. RIP Rhys lad.
  3. That's pretty much the team I'd play, not really bothered who plays out of Mascherano or Sissoko though.
  4. Depends on the full-back, Gary Neville, Tony Hibbert or Ashley Cole for instance............. .
  5. Agreed, we were in control until we scored and then we let Chelsea have far too much of the ball. They ran the rest of the first half and had a couple of excellent chances at the start of the second. After Pizzaro missed that header we pulled ourselves together and bossed the game again.
  6. He wasn't bad but he wasn't that good. Wright-Phillips took the piss out of him a couple of times which was worrying as he seems to struggle when he comes up against a winger with pace, although he did have a good game when facing Messi last season.
  7. Agreed, call me paranoid if you want but I was a lot further away from the incident than Styles and I knew it wasn't a penalty. How he could be so close yet get his decision so wrong beggars belief. It's not like it's the first time we've been stiched up by a bent ref when Chelsea are in town either (take a bow Mike Riley). I don't see why it should be considered so inplausible that Styles is on the fiddle, it happens in Italy all the time so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if corruption was rife in the English game. Especially when you consider the amount of money around and the fact that Chelsea are owned by an extremely wealthy criminal. Styles is a fucking crook and the two points that he robbed from us yesterday could prove to be the difference between second and first come the end of the season.
  8. You tend to be pretty reliable as a source mate. Do you think the interest is sincere and are we likely to make a genuine effort to get the lad?
  9. I object to the fact that a slightly above average footballer has been elevated to the position of a great one by virtue of his looks.
  10. Probably shouldn't be saying this but I'm pretty pissed. Anyway, a mate of mine from work grew up with Thommo on the Ford estate and he only sees him now and again now, He did see him at a barbeque earlier this year, not long after that Wigan v Arsenal game where Wigan were winning until late on and Arsenal scored two late goals. The winner as some may remember was scored by Henry after an appalling back pass by Thommo played him through. My mate asked him what he was playing at, to which Thommo replied "I had a wedge on an Arsenal win if you know what I mean." Basically confessing to throwing the game in order to win a bet, I think that tells you all you need to know about the lads attititude and commitment.
  11. The man is a cunt of the highest order and he personifies all that is wrong with the modern phenomanon that is the cult of celebrity. We must be nice about him though because he does an awful lot of work for charity, he just doesn't like to talk about it.
  12. That's unfair on Pennant Paul, for the first half of the season he was terrible. His performances significantly improved around Christmas time and for the most part of the second half of the season he was our best and most consistant attacking player. As a person he's very difficult to like but people shouldn't let that cloud their judgement of him as a player.
  13. This is one of the many reasons Carra is my favourite Liverpool player of all time, even ahead of Fowler. What a fucking joke of a radio station that is, no wonder McKenzie used to own the shitty thing. The presenters and majority of the listeners are just England loving, S*n reading, cockney bell ends. The cheak of saying that about Carra, he is the antithesis of a bottler. Pricks. Fair play to that Manc though, he was by far the most intelligent caller whilst I was listening.
  14. Of course you would Jason, that's because you're fucking shit.
  15. I rarely comment on these transfer threads and the reason for that is that I haven't seen enough of most of the players we're linked with. I read a lot about football so I've heard of pretty much all of them. If they play in La Liga I tend to see a bit of them because I have Sky, I've seen Babel play one or two games in the U21 tournament but that doesn't make me qualified enough to pass judgement on whether or not he's good enough for LFC. I've seen very little of the likes of Mancini and Queresma as I don't get Italian or Portuguese games. Unless you see these players play fairly regularly I really don't know how you can determine how good they are.
  16. This is great news for us. It will help prolong Carragher's career and give him some much needed rest during the season. It'll also give him next summer off, though by the looks of things the whole England squad will be having next summer off.
  17. Agreed, I can see where Parry is coming from even if he does appear slightly hypocritical. The problem however is that the standard of reserve football is so poor, if young players are not loaned out then they have no way of gaining vital experience and their progress is halted.
  18. He was guilty of poor decision making on a couple of occasions during those highlights but he does look very talented. A loan deal with a Premiership side or Celtic would do him the world of good.
  19. Alot of teams we come up against, especially the lesser sides tend to stick two men on Alonso as they know this severely restricts our attacking play. Hopefully with the addition of a couple of top class players it won't be so easy for teams to do this as there will be alot more attacking threat for them to focus their attentions on. If Torres signs tommorow as is expected and we get a top class winger in then I reckon Alonso will be a revelation next year.
  20. I'd love love them to go down but it's not going to happen. Like Cath says their are too many inferior clubs to Everton. I think the likes of Wigan, Fulham and Bolton are really going to struggle along with the promoted sides, maybe with the exception of Sunderland depending on who they sign. I hate to admit it but the blueshite have got their best squad of players for some time, though they are lacking in numbers. If they don't bring many new faces in and get a few injuries they may struggle, chances are they'll finish in one of the lower top half positions however.
  21. RIP Dirk senior, I've been saying it for a few months but I'm convinced Dirk will have a storming second season with us, especially if he's allowed to play as a proper centre forward.
  22. Strange, I thought he did. Do you know when his current one expires then?
