1. They are the stand out stinkers. Certainy a whiff of pump coming from the general dircetion of Dudek and Mellor though. Riise and Warnock were pretty average as well.
2. The normal retirement age is 48 but officials can carry on with a reduced workload. With Walton and Mike Riley on the shortlist to replace referees' boss Hackett - the successful applicant is expected to move to PGMOL this summer before taking over from Hackett next year - that could leave just 13 referees available next season. Uh-oh!
3. Lifted this from bbc. All thats announced so far... http://Man Utd accept £80m Ronaldo bid All thats announced so far for those who can't view the link. Man Utd accept £80m Ronaldo bid Manchester United have accepted an offer of £80m from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo. More to follow.
4. I would be. I'm not convinced there's enough sense of achievement there for him with the resources they have.
5. Some retired ref hit the nail on the head a while back about him. Basically said he's a crap manager who relentlessly berates officials to cover up his own inadequacies. Obviously his little tantrum over Rafa is just an extension of that. He conveniently forgets we played a lot of second string players against Sheff Utd on the first day of that season. This is truly boke-worthy. Iain Dowie should have appeared with a revenge writ to Jordan. It's purpose would be to prevent the future capturing of similar images.
6. Ye, looking forward to it. It's the kind of game in which I must find a fickle reason in order to have a preference to one of the sides. Thus, making things more interesting. For this game I shall be supporting Bremen due to the fact that their central defender Naldo gave Barry Ferguson a dead arse in last seasons game against Rangers. Get in Bremen!
7. I think baconface wrote a letter of congratulation to king kenny after blackburn won it. I'm sure it's in Kennys autobiography. However, poopypants doesn't make up the rules, he merely participates so fuck him. He tries to monopolise everything from media, refereeing authorities to transfer market. I can't stand the man. If it had been chelsea I would not have enjoyed it one bit but i would have been comfortable with some kind of congratulation for hiddink if it was prompted.
8. That's pretty fair and about right I reckon. Also, the only reason I'd have evra over aurelio is fabios injury problems. Otherwise, I doubt there's much difference.
9. This summer is massive and what happens at old toilet will also play its part. If Ronaldo went I think a wave of optimism would sweep over all of us. I wouldn't put money on it but I wouldn't be astounded either. You just never know what'll happen. I think cautious optimistim is the name of the game.
10. I know that really hurts. If they get 4 the draw has played a massive part in it though. To win it this season we would have had to do madrid, chelsea, barca then the filth. They've had inter, porto, under strength arsenal and then barca with no full backs. There are no gimmes in european football i know but they've not really needed anything monumental to get to the final. That is the ultimate nightmare them getting 4. Fuck sake can't even bare to think about it. The positives are they cant really strengthen by any real significant margin as their squad is already so good. Van der sar, giggs and scholes are getting on. Hopefully tevez may fuck off. Really they'll be doing well to get the same amount of points next season as this I think or at least I hope. We have more or less hit our target in the league this season. Next seasons target is to finally have that trophy. Please god let it happen.
11. My sources confirm Simons dog escaped and went on to fulfil the lifelong dream of a being a light entertainer. Thus, we have a positive conclusion to the story as Simon must have been the single biggest influence on the dog.
12. Quite a good article. Not sure about full back postion being a real issue. Now that Daggers signed we can shift Carra out to the right if need be. Hes not great carrying the ball forward but hes solid and can cross it quite well so should be good enough backup. Insua looks to have real potential so should cover Fabio well enough. We suffered last season from Aggers injury and that was rectified in last seasons january window with skrtel so the gap had already been closed a little before we signed any players prior to this season starting. This was shown when skrtel got the injury at city and we were relatively unaffected compared to last season because we had agger as well as sami. Aurelios managed to stay relatively fit all season and riera, although inconsistent, has brought some width and good performances to the table. In my opinion these three things are what has closed the gap. If Barry is on his way, xabi stays, we get someone else like lavezzi from napoli as the rumours are saying and it turns out to be a good signing. We should just about have some kind of parity with the mancs squad. They are fortunate to have the luxury of a player like tevez as backup. If he fucks off as well it should help as they surely cannot find someone else of that quality to play second fiddle. This would make them more vulnerable when resting the likes of rooney and maybe, more importantly, less dangerous when they're chasing a game and throwing all their forwards on.
13. Some excellent recommendations on here. Kudos to all. I seen Bon Iver, Hold steady and Vampire weekend at last years ATP festival. All were very good. Here's a couple of others I got into from that festival you mightn't have heard of. Jens Lekman. This guys a swedish folk singer, kinda but he uses samples and stuff to. Of Montreal. These guys were really good live and had a great stage show. This included a guy employed to appear on stage and jump up and down angrily on the spot to the chorus of one of their songs which is about a girl rejecting a guy at a club. Was very funny.
14. Haha that image completely summarises chelsea. On a seperate note did anyone else notice essiens totally shithouse tackle on iniesta? It was like a stamp from the side, very dangerous. Slightly similar to the one he did on the kaiser but less obvious. Tremendous player he may be but he really is a dirty shit. Some poor soul is going to get a broken leg or similarly nasty injury from him one day. Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread, I haven't read every page.
15. I watched him in both milan derbys this season and was pleaseantly surprised at how well he played. Especially in the second one that ac lost. The magic was definately still there. Disguising passes here, there and everywhere. He was really dangerous the whole game and Inter were really struggling with him. However, thats two of the biggest games of milans season and ive no idea how he performed over the whole season and with the wages he'd cost I doubt it'd be worth the risk.
16. In fairness, I seen an interview with a fulham player which they did in the dressing rooms. Think it was Mark Schwarzer. They were ridiculously small like. For a premiership club it looked pretty embarrassing. Although, if you constantly pooped your pants involuntarily. Then had to change in close proximity to others this would obviously be more of an issue.
17. Agreed. I think they did a better job of dealing with the other Ferguson as well. I recall poopypants being in front of their disciplinary panel all the time during his Aberdeen days.
18. I had a part time job at a call centre and I once dealt with a Mr Dick who resided at The Cock Inn, no wind-up. Also, there's a slightly strange but funny guy I seen playing live locally a while back who composed this little masterpiece in the name of Tokyo Sexwale. YouTube - Tokyo Sexwale
19. Great stuff from rafa. Only possible complaint is that he may have listed a couple of other things as well. Namely, the amount of dissent wayne rooney gets away with every week. Which also makes a mockery of the respect campaign. Poopypants speaking about referees constantly before games. The latter really enrages me. Why are you speaking about the ref before the game has even kicked off?! Total fucking nonsense. Free speech and all I know but not before the game. The FA should outlaw that completely as it's just yet another thinly veiled attempt to influence 50/50 decisions. "We will need a strong referee for this game. The crowd here can get on top of a referee." By strong, he of course means one that will wilt under his ramblings. Steve Bennett, Mike Reilly and Rob Styles are obviously all of a sufficient strength to ref United in his eyes.
20. Don't you mean arsenal ladies? Seeing as they are capable of drawing with spurs, like arsenal did last night.
21. They are a good side to watch in fairness. The hype just goes a bit overboard. I'd hate this tit to be our captain though. I recall him absolutely bollocking cliche for making an error which led to an equalising pen in that game. Cliche was a little unlucky as he actually recovered and won the ball back fairly but the ref gave a pen. The lad looked crestfallen. Gallas then comes over screaming at him. Im sure that was exactly what he needed at that moment. Gallas then acts like a 5 year old with his sitting down on the half way line. Absolutely pathetic.
