  1. Strangely enough, the minority of the staff you refer to, in my experience so far, seem to be the older staff who have now found themselves in positions of power within the schools, as heads of departments, which compounds the problem. Although that said, the benefits of teaching do seem to attract those that are there for the stability and benefits rather than the profession itself, and there are several members of my course that I wouldnt want teaching my children.
  2. Currently training to be a teacher and as such I am in touch with 30 odd student teachers in a similar situation. The common consensus amongst us all from our experiences this year is that the problems seem to lie with the management of the schools. Teachers trying to address antisocial behaviour are more often than not, not backed up by the schools management teams, and as such feel they are wasting their time when raising problems. At my first placement one a newly qualified teacher was assaulted whilst I was there, the child in question was sent home for the day and allowed back in school the next day as she had problems at home. Whilst I don't doubt that she had external issues to deal with, it sends out the wrong messages to the pupils when they see this happen, and gives them carte blanche to do what they want. So the answer in my opinion is stronger management of schools with more support, percieved and real, for the teaching staff.
  3. So you are agreeing that half the people whose opinion you'll happily listen to are gobshites?
  4. Owen's stats look great, but why does no-one seem to remember how long it took him to get back upto speed after an injury? He'd generally be poor for a game or two before picking up his game, and then the goals would follow. So calls for him to come in as a bit part player or backup seem pointless to me, as he wouldnt ever really get the run of games to find his form as a backup player, and if he did the chances are his body would fail him, as it has done so since he joined Newcastle.
  5. Played it last Friday night, thumbs were killing on Saturday morning. The increased sensitivity of 360 pad makes some of the moves a bit more difficult to pull off than they were on earlier consoles, which I suppose creates a new learning curve. The new characters seem OK (apart from the fat bastard rip off), but the story mode was a bit short - I liked the original were you had to beat all the fighters, not just a handful - completed it as Ken and he didnt even get to fight Ryu?
  6. I know there is a lot of demand for primary PGCEs and they are difficult to get on. But if you're just looking for experience have you considered volunteering? You'll probably have to pay for your own CRB check, but from what I understand very few primary school will turn down a volounteer, especially if you have relatives or links at the schools you approach. Several of the TAs / LAs I spoke to in primary school used this to get in the door.
  7. One of my mates pissed the bed when bladdered, woke his bird up next to him and managed to convince her she did it, apparently she was crying while she changed the sheets.
  8. People in your class are misinformed, my brothers job is to run the courses for his uni for prospective PGCE students to take equivelency exams in maths, english and science and I know that at least one of the lads on my PGCE course took them to qualify
  9. Dont bother, you can just do an equivelency test when applying to uni, which they'll arrange for you.
  10. I used this site PSPISO - Powered by vBulletin Didnt really know what I was doiong but it was actually quite easy - they have some idiot proof procedures!
  11. Mothercare is my tip for the drop, everything is overpriced and they're always empty. Safe fitting of baby seats is their only bonus, but thats a one off purchase that wont have you going back to buy nappies...
  12. Gutted I missed the deadline, was all set for a last minute vote to hopefully decide the thing and got caught up with family stuff. Too late now, but I voted for Coyote and against Cantorii in semis and would have remained loyal to the end
  13. Thanks, that pspiso site did the trick eventually, highly recommended to anyone that wants to do this, had to register but the tutorial section was really useful
  14. Bump... Need some help doing this, been on the psp forums and they are all too techy for me to understand, they talk about homebrew, Pandora and loads of other things I've no idea about. All I know is I've got the old fat PSP which someone updated for me last year to firmware 3.52 so I could play downloaded games. Just downloaded FIFA 2009 today and its not working. After doing a bit of digging I've discovered it needs a later version of firmware to play (apparently 4.01 at least) and I have no idea how to do it, and have just wasted an hour of my life on the above psp forums and am none the wiser. Help me TNF you're my only hope...
  15. Gotta be the whale due to being sponsored by Jesus, all his has to do is have a word with Daddy to make sure he backs a winner.
  16. I can only assume this is an attempt at reverse psychology, and you actually want us to ruin Leeson and your childrens' Christmas by voting coyote? So I've done as you wish, a vote for coyote it is!
  17. Had it last year, hurt like fuck, but I bought these menthol crystals from chemist, add to boiling water in bowl, towel over head, worked like magic to ease it - only lasted a few hours though then start again, but way better than any drugs I tried.
  18. spoke to him last night, said he's hoping it'll be ready for boxing day but not 100% sure it'll be done in time
  19. he's not answering, will find out later and update thread this evening
  20. gis 2 mins I'll give him a call
  21. Its my mates mag, I'll try and find out, in the meantime try the boss mag facebook site, might be something there
  22. Been mentioned earlier but all those that are above him in the list for creating chances are regular corner takers, and stats like this are shit for proving anything, who decides what a chance is? Was Reira's goal a chance this week? if it was every time we get the ball from goal 30 yards out its a chance, so how many chances have we created this season using that criteria?
  23. This site just gets better and better, I've read pages of Benny bashing and Warnock worshipping, finally open up a stream to see the second goal, thought I'd stepped into the twighlight zone!
