  1. The PL must be the last league to implement this
  2. Yep, totally agree with that.
  3. FØCK OFF HICKS!! (In a Kevin Keegan style rant) I would love it to see that fat fuck turn up at a match soon and get the message 1st hand from the fans
  4. Skrtel`s teammate at Zenit, Erik Hagen, has just been interviewed by a norwegian website about the signing: He is a very promising player with great heading ability and good pace. If he cuts out the elementary mistakes from his game he can go very far. Playing for Zenit he has commited several mistakes that have cost us points. I don`t think he`s been cynical enough when needed. He`s by no means poor with the ball at his feet, it`s more to do with errors of judgement. Surprised that he signed for Liverpool? I know the club has been working intensely on selling Skrtel, and I`ve heard previously that Liverpool were interested so it`s not very surprising. Good in the air, and quick. That doesn`t sound like a bad combination? No, the English game should suit him well, but he`s lacking in experience. Full interview here: Nettavisen - - Liverpool-kjøp må kutte ut barnefeilene
  5. That was the kid who started soccernet.com which was bought by ESPN. That kid didn`t start ESPN though, it`s been around since the 70`s I think.
  6. have we played a good game since Pako left?
  7. Fantastic odds! No doubt we`d win it once every 12 years with the team we`ve got at the moment.
  8. I`ve heard of things like this before, how referees have meetings prior to a tournament or a new season and then single out 2 or 3 players to watch out for. For some of these players the extra attention is well deserved (i.e. drogba, inzaghi etc.) but there`s no doubt that tall players get a raw deal. For Norway`s national team we`ve seen this happen to Carew and back in his day Jostein Flo

  11. Pires Ginola (before he turned 30) Schweinsteiger Stoichkov
  12. 15 mill would be a great bit of business, play him on the wing away from home, and at right back at home. He is without a doubt one of the most exciting young players around.
  13. I like the look of this transfer, for footballing reasons on one level but just imagine Heinze`s level of motivation going to utd`s main rival. He`s gonna be well up for this!

    6 Years

Anyone know what he was on at Atletico? Apparently 90k a week is a step down for him.
  15. He`s been around a while and proven himself in the bundesliga and in Europe. I`d actually be prepared to pay more for him if necessary seeing as transfer fees are likely to surge this summer due to the new TV deal
  16. Given that Rafa has close to 40 million to spend, my shopping list would look something like this: Out: Cisse 7 Crouch 10 Alonso 20 Bellamy 8 In: Alves 20 Torres 27 (buy out clause) Berbatov 30 Hyppiä replacement 5 If we get Alves we`ll have excellent cover down the right side, meaning Gerrard can play in the middle. Depending on who we play we could have Alves & Pennant or Finnan & Alves on the right. Berbatov is a fantastic player, and although I like Crouch as a player I have no doubts that Berbatov would be a massive improvement for us. Torres`qualities have been discussed on other threads and I think he could rediscover his old form with a move to a top side like Liverpool. There is also the fact that he`s played loads as a lone striker in Spain, whereas here he would be alongside Kuyt or Berbatov.

    Carlos Tevez

I`d definitely swap Xabi for Tevez. Not directly with West Ham of course, but if the money from a Xabi sale would fund the purchase of Tevez then I`m all for it. We have great depth in central midifield and Xabi hasn`t been on top form for the last season and a half. When he`s not on top of his game he doesn`t have physical presence or work rate to "fall back on".
  18. Decent player, creates and scores some goals but we should be setting our sights higher and look to make 2 or 3 world class signings. Henry, Alves and a replacement for Hyppiä, or something like that :)
  19. I`d put Zlatan Ibrahimovic on that list as well
  20. I`ve got that too, they`ve had it running for 5 years or so and the value for money you get is fantastic!
  21. I agree to some extent, we can be very hard to beat and therefore frustrate the best teams in the world, what we lack however is the attacking play to blow away teams away from home. I sometimes feel Rafa should be more confident and optimistic in his approach, as it will rub off on his players - I do however think he can deliver number 19 given time and money. We badly need a couple of class players who can take on a man and get past him.
  22. Good call! Has he ever scored from outside the box?
