  1. I cant look past Spain at 7,5 - Their squad is right up there, if not the best in the tournament. + They've got experience and needless to say, gelled as a team a long time ago. Play this tournament 7 times and they're sure to win at least one of them no?
  2. Moyes' dad was Fergusons coach way back in his early playing days in Glasgow. They obviously have a personal connection.
  3. It was a clear penalty. Also, Aspas wasn't offside when played through earlier in the 2nd half
  4. He can play as a striker, but was primarily used as an attackin midfielder last year. Versatility is good, no?
  5. Ha ha! The fuck? Who's gonna defend against opposing wide players there? Coutinho and Gerrard? And Soldado out wide... Ever seen him play? He's a classic centre forward, and centre forward only type player.
  6. He was player of the season in the Bundesliga in 2010/11
  7. Aah, what a haven this place is. I'm also happy with our signings so far, and I'm fully confident there will be more to come. Thing about Aspas is that people only look at his transfer fee, 8-9 million pounds was it? Thtat was only because of a release clause. Pretty sure peiple would be much more excited by him if we'd paid 15 mill.
  8. Think he has great qualities, and brings us raw speed we haven't had since Torres 09/10. My major worry is his mentality and workrate
  9. You could easily reverse that argument. Seeing as they only recruit locally, they don't have much use for a huge transfer kitty. It's all about developing talent anyway, but obviously, no one is interested in losing their best players for free.

  11. Stunned! Absolutely stunned that You would Bruce (and Pallister) in your team. Remember thinking in the early 90's that the best evidence of how weak the PL was, was that man utd could win the league with that pair. Got shred to bits everytime in the CL
  12. Does Rodgers want his "wingers" to put in crosses? Doesn't seem so to me seeing as he usually plays a right-footer on the left and a left-footer on the right. Think he wants them to cut inside more often than run to the byline, and that the fullbacks provide the crosses.
  13. Played for my team in Norway, Valerenga. Would be happy with him as backup for Suarez, but at 26 I don't think he'd be interested in being a backup
  14. Completely agree. Covers a lot of ground as well, I'm expecting a much improved season for him.
  15. All of them good players I'd argue. Best by shit? Peter Ndlovu, hat-trick at Anfield for Coventry in 95 I think
  16. I've thought about that Ipswich team myself a few times. They played some great football and their playmaker, Martin Reujser, even got into the Dutch national team. Noone should be surprised over how large a part psychology plays in football though. Just look at our own clubs' recent past and how the ownership saga affected everyones moods and performances.
  17. We are paid more than Wigan, much more
  18. Agree, they would still have enough firepower to challenge/defeat the mancs
  19. I see now that the meeting is scheduled for Thursday. 15 out of the 18 clubs have confirmed that they will atted, Sporting Gijon have declined. Their supporters are reportedly incensed and going "loco" on their forums. Hopefully the mood will filter through to the management and the people will be heard.
  20. The chairmen of all Primera clubs, except RM & Barca, are set to meet tomorrow to discuss possible actions against the distribution of tv-money under the current deal. They're apparently threatening to play their youth teams against barca and real! Vival la revolucion!
  21. gazzetta claims rafa sealed his own faith ("autoesonerato") with his rant last night, only a matter of time before he's sacked... both from karlsentk on twitter
  22. rafa "i decicate the win to my family, to spain, to liverpool supporters (!) [...], to the staff, to the players, to [walter] samuel"
