I wouldn`t be surprised if there was quite a bit of politics involved in these "deep debt" and "cant afford to pay wages" stories. Laporta has just resigned as president after 7-8 years, the clubs most successfull period ever and I`m certain they could easily have paid the players' wages in June if they wanted to. Not paying them however, is a way of making Laporta`s regime look bad and making the new president`s job look tougher.

Fantastic player, has produced the goods regularly for 6-7 years now. I think he`s won the league six years in a row now. (Even though his Juventus titles obviously don`t come with much glory) At Juventus he relegated Del Piero to the bench and he won the Player of the year award in Serie A by a mile this year. If you watch some Serie A you would know what a great player he is. A lot of people say "He`s never done anything when he`s played us", but look at it, who has? Benitez is fantastic at shutting down our opponents, especially in Europe, we never get outplayed. In the last five years we`ve kept Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, PSV, Leverkusen, Marseille, basically anyone we`ve played very very quiet. Doesn`t mean all the players in these teams are shit though does it?
