  1. Holy fuck, that's even better. "You need testing in the thought, you do, you 100 carrot cunt." Si. You like the planet and all that hippy shit don't you? VHEMT YKIMS
  2. They come in different flavours? What black magic, what heresy is this? Quavers are quaver flavour, and that's cheese. Ish.
  3. The way to do it is to bend over and give it a side-to-side "Just checking the wheel bearings" type shimmy. That way the lasses get to perv at your arse as well as your mechanical prowess. Guaranteed twat tsunami.
  4. To be fair, when it comes to reporting stuff like this they're fucked if they do and fucked if they don't. Tell everyone it's going to be a bit of a damp squib and they unwashed masses will be whining about how the authorities and media never warned them. So, err on the side of caution just to cover their own arses if nowt else. Also, to be fair, it was the interaction between that system, sea surface temps and interaction with the jet stream that made/broke that system, but try explaining shit like that in few minutes of viewer attention span.. Again, easier to play it safe and tell people "WIND! RAIN! SURGE! RUN! DOOM!" Hurricane Fluttershy. Deserving of rep. *edit* Well, that was weird. As soon as I posted this, I had a recorded phone call from the Enviroment Agency, a message stating "This is not a flood warning. However this call is to confirm that your number is registered with our system for automated flood warnings in the future" Hmm. Off to the conspiracy theory thread!
  5. Glad I never mentioned the toast trick now. Make someone a couple of pieces of toast. You want butter on that? Yes? Give them margarine instead. There they are, expecting a nice bit of buttery toast and all they get is a gobful of emulsified yellow vegetable fat instead. That'll learn 'em. Waterboarding has got fuck all on that.
  6. Pandas are shit, really. Shit bamboo munching sorry excuses for a proper bear. Fuck 'em. There. I've said it. Fuck em right in their infertile panda holes.
  7. Torture and kill? That's a bit harsh mate. How about "Make him a cuppa, but put the wrong amount of sugar in it and make it in a cup with a chipped rim so it catches his lip slightly, causing minor irritation"? Now that's what I call payback.
  8. The beer is safely upstairs. That's a relief...
  9. Been watching this for about half an hour now. If I was that lass I would have bitchslapped him ages ago.
  10. OccupiedAir, Ustream.TV: OccupiedAir is an independent news team reporting from protests & the peoples movement across the United States. We provide l... Fuckin' wow.
  11. All the best to the both of you, have a groovily wonderful day. Don't forget to save us all a bit of cake, otherwise I'll be obliged to kick yer bollocks in. Ta.
  12. From a nerdy point of view, it's a fascinating state of affairs. Been watching the development of this on Weather Underground. As far as NYC is concerned, it could have been worse. That's not to say that it's not bad as it is, but it appears the system is being nommed to a certain extent by another airmass, and also the track of the system is taking the worst of it away from the city. Still wouldn't catch me going out there in flip-flops, string vest and a kiss me quick hat... Take care out there, all you east coast US folks.
  13. Agree. Freeview has done me sound for years now. I'm not one for watching telly much anyway, the odd programme or film but if it is on, it's usually just as background wallpaper. Road Wars and Traffic Cops though. I don't go out of my way to watch those, but when I do I'm hooked. Got to love the sub-plot of "Don't even think about it. We will catch you.."
  14. Oooh Matron! What kind of stuff is it? One problem I have is where to put it all, so if it's interesting enough even if I don't have it myself I'm sure I can find a good home for it. If it's in your way though, don't put yourself out. Anyway. Back to nerd stuff. I'm happy with my nerdery. I stopped giving a fuck about what people thought years ago as the ones who disparaged such things tended to be the kind of person I wouldn't go out of my way to befriend anyway, so no great loss. There's a bunch of LARP'ers around here who have invited me time and time again to join in. Must get around to it one day. Spending a day prancing around the woods with a plastic sword and silly costumes sounds like a great day out.
  15. This bit really grinds my gears. It sounds like they're almost making an excuse. What. The. Fuck? Surely anyone with a single shred of humanity or concience would realise that the above is not appropriate behavour towards *anyone* whatsoever. Well, Jim Davidson excepted. Fucking people.
  16. Haha. And that's the difference between an aspergers-esque socially inadequate neckbeard nerd and a generally friendly and sociable, if a bit hairy and hippyish, nerd.
  17. I make a living (sort of) from computers, but it's more a labour of love than a living, which is why I'll never be rich from it... I'll happily play, tweak and otherwise fiddle with them for free. Domestic PCs are just the tip of the iceberg, here in my workshop is half of my vintage collection which includes an Amiga 2000, A1200, A600, A500, A500+ along with 1081 and 1084S monitors. I drove to Bristol to get the 1084. Also a Dragon 32, 2 Electrons, a BBC B, Acorn RiscPC and a Commodore PET. I've got more at home, these are just the ones I keep here and play with inbetween jobs. I'll never make money from that lot, but I just love 'em sooooo much. Also got a shitload of brochures, old copies of Byte magazine and various other age-related gubbins. I've got a shitload of Scientology books, tools and literature here too, including a Mk V E-meter. It's all a load of bollocks, but seriously fascinating. Should Tom Cruise ever visit mid wales, I've got his auditing needs covered. I've also got an amateur radio licence, and I homebrew my own equipment. I can happily spend hours with my radio stuff, running around the bottom field hanging wires up from here, there and everywhere and then checking for resonance and performace is a lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon. I've got my car sorted for mobile radio ops too, boxes of wires and odds n sods in the boot so I can lash up temporary antennas if I get the urge as well as the car mounted stuff. I keep £500 worth of Icom radio underneath the passenger seat for when I get those "I fancy listening to a group of old farts talking about gardening on 3.690Mhz LSB whilst" whilst driving. I hardly use the radio for actual voice communication, data modes mostly (poniez via slow scan TV last week, for example..) or just listening to all those swooshy noises you get on the short wave bands. Finally, sci-fi books, comics and cartoons. Lots of, all well thumbed or watched. *deep breath* I seriously need to get out more...
  18. An old favourite. Ulli's Roy Orbison in Cling-film site A new favourite. Philrotica: sexy tales of the former Genesis drummer Any more?
