  1. I'm sorry but as bigger cunts as they are, there is no way a referee would call any footballer a Monkey in the current climate, never mind a Chelsea player.
  2. I highly doubt in the current climate a referee would be stupid enough to make racist remarks to players. This looks to me like Chelsea trying to smear the official, claiming themselves to be the victims of racism, thus taking the limelight off their own handling of their racist captain.
  3. Listen to it every week. I like it. It's not perfect and I didn't always agree with what's being said but its a good way to pass the time while playing Fifa or walking the dog. Neil Atkinson is very good as you've pointed out.
  4. Allen who has pulled the strings for us all season? Sahin maybe but certainly not Allen.
  5. Really enjoyed it, particularly last nights episode. The insight in to the dressing room HT was very interesting, and thought BR came accross brilliantly in that situation. In fact, I've liked him all the way through the series and I have great confidence that the club have made a great appointment in bringing him in. I don't really know what people were expecting from it really. It wasn't aimed at match going reds or life long supporters, it was a series aimed at the US and a wider world wide audience. It was purely a PR stunt and I personally think the club has came out pretty well out of it. Yes, there was a few cringey moments but its not been half as bad as some have made out. Really don't understand the huge negativity against it to be honest. Could have been a hell of a lot worse.
  6. Bang on. All this team is lacking is goals. I'm happy with every other aspect of the play. 2 clean sheets on the bounce also shows that maybe the early season defensive wobble is also slowly being rectified. I like how he plays players on form regardless of reputation. I like how he has brought through youth and trusted them, and look at the rewards. I like how he has bombed out the likes of downing, someone who too often didn't show the heart and fight when the going got tough. People may smirk and belittle him after watching Being Liverpool but I bet 99% of managers are exactly the same. The simple fact is if we had another 6 points on the board, which is the least we deserve from some of our play this season, then these little minor issues wouldn't see the light of day. The training routines I have seen on the show encourage me, and you can see that in action in matches as our play becomes more intelligent and expansive every week. BR has a clear project and plan, and it's one i like and I'm willing to get behind for the long haul. He is building something. It's going to take time and there is going to be trouble along the way but that's all I hoped for this season. At the end of last season I didn't see any direction. Going to Anfield was tedious and painful too often. Like Rafa's first season, I wanted this year to see signs of something we as fans can believe in and support, knowing that the club is steadily moving along the right path. I am confident that we are seeing that. How far we go depends on how much FSG are able and willing to invest in Brendan and trust his judgement. I genuinely believe that if they back the manager 100% we can be up challenging within 2-3 years. Young players will be encouraged to sign for the club when you see the progress and faith shown in players like Shelvey, Suso, Wisdom and Sterling.
  7. They'll probably have to play a few matches behind closed doors and will be fined a few grand. Danny Rose will have his red card upheld. Guarantee they'll do no more than that. However, if the incident happened in England the book would be thrown like never before.
  8. I'm made up an opposition player hates playing against one of ours, a compliment surely.
  9. Cheers for the insight Coop. I was a massive fan of DJ , retweeted a lot of his posts and had a load of mates then following him subsequently. The lad had me in stitches. I can fully see why he has took the route he has and I'd have no reason to disbelieve any of his story. Looking at the club's PR track record over the past years none what has supposedly happened would surprise me and I certainly see no reason to give LFC the benefit of the doubt. We are a train wreck PR wise. I suspect the lack of tangible evidence will save Chang but if this is the way he behaves then the club really need to get shut. Embarrasing and amateurish.
  10. Luis Suarez hits back at Fifa's Jim Boyce over 'cheating' claims Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has said Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce just "wanted to get publicity" with his remarks about the Uruguayan. Boyce said an incident involving Suarez in the Reds' game against Stoke was "nothing less than cheating" and called simulation a "cancer" in the game. But Suarez has said: "This guy [boyce], I've no idea who he is. "I don't know why he has been talking about me. He certainly can't be well-known and he wants to get publicity." The 25-year-old who played for his country in Friday night's 3-0 World Cup qualifying defeat by Argentina, went on to tell Argentine radio: "Let him carry on talking. My job is to play football and to try to do so in the best way possible. "What he has said does not affect me. I am not interested in what he has to say. It's been important to have the support of the Uruguayan FA and the people. "I have lived through a lot in the past year, with people saying things about me, but I have continued playing and proving my job is what happens on the pitch." Play media Diving a widespread problem - Owen Boyce's remarks prompted the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) to write to Fifa defending their player and demanding that the 68-year-old Northern Irishman, who is Britain's representative on Fifa, be referred to the governing body's ethics committee. The letter, signed by the organisation's president Sebastian Bauza and general secretary Anibal de Olivera, described Boyce's remarks as "at odds with the principles of world football governing". It continued: "The code of ethics of Fifa, in its article three, clearly states: 'Officers should be aware of the importance of their role and the obligations and responsibilities that entails.' "Deliberately ignoring his position and role, Mr Boyce has referred specifically to a football player, encouraging and provoking hostility towards him." The letter also included a list of six steps the AUF wants Fifa to take, including withdrawing its confidence in Boyce and expressing its regret to Suarez.

  12. Announcement on Anfield redevelopment expected Monday by TheAnfieldWrap // 13 October 2012 // 0 comments LIVERPOOL supporters have waited many years and been through two changes of ownership since the club first made clear the desperate need for a significant increase in capacity for home games. Following the takeover by FSG in 2010 the club began to look at the possibility of a redevelopment of Anfield alongside the various plans to move to a new stadium in Stanley Park. The Anfield Wrap understands that an announcement will be made on Monday confirming that Liverpool intend to redevelop Anfield. The announcement, it is understood, will be made by Liverpool City Council and relates to the commencement of Compulsory Purchase Order consultations as part of plans for improvements to the Anfield area. Those improvements include work to redevelop Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield stadium. The intention, following satisfactory progress in the consultations which continue into next year, is for the stadium redevelopment to commence in 2014.
  13. Given our PR track record over the past few years I'm inclined to believe every word of this. Embarrassing.
  14. As much as he has frustrated me so far, I think there is a player in there. He has made some really intelligent runs and his movement on and off the ball has impressed me. He has looked largely poor in possession and his first touch has been disappointing but there are a number of reasons why that could be. He has looked like be is trying too hard for me. Still think its far too early to make a judgement though and as much as he may not be making a massive contribution now, his absence will be a loss to our paper thin squad.
  15. I wouldn't say we have been worker out or are a one trick pony at all. We are crying out for a genuine proven goalscorer. That's it. We are still battering team, still creating a shed load of chances, still hitting the post 4 times in a game like on Sunday. Address that problem, score more goals, and we will take off. That, and a few teething problems with the defence that will be ironed out (Lucas returning will improve the defensive side massively) are the two reasons why we are where we are. I'm quite happy and excited by every other aspect of our play.
  16. Aquilani for me. Carroll scored a modest number of goals, one being a winner against the blueshite at Wembley. He also very nearly single handedly clawed us back to level terms in the FA Cup Final. Aquilani arrived injured, made a handful of appearances, disappeared on loan for two years and eventually left for about one tenth of what we paid for him. If Carroll leaves we will atleast return 50% of his transfer fee. Have no problem with Carroll either and believe he will go on to be a fantastic player. We are probably just the wrong club for him at this time. So Aquilani for me.
  17. Just goes to show that we very rarely get it wrong when we let a young player leave the club, despite the hysteria at the time. Ince may go on to buck that trend but we'll see.
  18. But he is. He manages the national team. This whole project has been set up because the national team hasn't won a scrap for almost 50years and look as far away from doing so now as any time since 66. What's the point of training world class players through youth level if by the time they make the grade and reach the full squad they're going to be asked to sit deep with two banks of 4 and hit the big man up top? I recognise that this as a long term facility could be a great investment in English football far beyond Hodgson's tenure but at this time and maybe for the next few years players will be trained and schooled in an attractive brand of expansive modern football which is totally at odds with what they'll be asked to play once they reach the pinnacle.
  19. Building a world class facility like St George's Park and having Roy Hodgson at the head of it is like building a state of the art Championship Formula 1 car and putting Susan Boyle at the wheel.
  20. Do you not think then that the club's manager should be briefed by club officials immediately after a match before he speaks to the press? Had BR been aware of the stamp after the game he would have surely mentioned it. He isn't thick and seems very media savvy. Pulis hammered Suarez and wrote today's headlines. We all know that Suarez would have been hammered anyway but BR could have at the very least got our retaliation in first. Our recent history is littered with examples of extreme naivety at best on the clubs part with our media dealings and PR. One example I can call on us Kenny's run in with Shreeves after the OT Manc game last season. KD had no knowledge of the handshake incident whatsoever 2hours after it occurred. It was already headline news worldwide and anyone with a brain knew it would be hot topic post match. Kenny hadn't been briefed, immediately went on the defensive, and the club soon issued a pathetic grovelling apology to Sky and Shreeves. It was a total embarrassment that could have been avoided. We have been a PR disaster in recent years. I'm not blaming anyone individualy because I don't know who would be responsible for this kind of thing, if anyone. It's just my belief that we should have someone briefing the manager of what he is likely to face imediately after the final whistle. The fact that Brendan is issuing his statement 24hours later after the headlines have been written tells me that either the people we have doing the briefing aren't very good at their job, or we don't have anyone doing the job at all. I'm not pointlessly sniping at the club, this is an important issue in my opinion.
  21. To be fair I highly doubt Brendan seen the stamping incident by the time he spoke after the match yesterday. However, we have a communications department who should have pre-empted what the topic of discussion was going to be (diving Suarez) , made sure BR was shown the incident and therefor give ln us atleast a fighting chance of setting our own agenda. Instead, as always seems to be the case, we are left playing catch up and closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Pulis is a fucking snidey cunt who new exactly what he was doing. He knows the agenda against Suarez, his master Ferguson would have well briefed him on that. By straight away setting anti Suarez agenda after the match it totally takes all focus away from his ale house tactics and Huth's stamp. If it was Suarez who'd commited the stamp on Huth there would be a meltdown of English football and a lynch mob of millions marching to Liverpool to deport him. I don't blame BR , this should be dictated from above him. Lets set our own agenda for once.

  23. There is so much wrong with this paragraph from the Mail it's untrue. Liverpool hit the post 4 fucking times but were no more deserving of the win than Stoke?? Some cunt gets paid a wedge to write this bollocks.
