  1. Typical Rod Liddle article. As has been said he is a columnist. He is trying to be controversial. I actually thought the odd comment was quite amusing and a fair bit of truth as to how St Gerard has been treated in all this. Lot of oversensitive people on here who play into the hands of the whole conspiracy against us / victim culure here. The article merits a tut. A roll of the eyes maybe. Get over it and don't prove the london media point about scouse paranoia etc etc.
  2. Sorry to hear you've become a victim of the conveyancing crunch mate. crap time to be a conveyancer so i'd say take the herts job but its reasonable for it to take a couple of weeks to up sticks and move. That gives you the ideal get out if the london job comes good. "Really sorry but can't manage the commute and too many problems/ties to move etc". I wouldn't pester the London firm - not worth the risk pissing them off by being seen to be trying to bounce them into a quicker decision. As someone said, if they put a stonking contract in front of you then you can drag that out for a few days easy. And lets face it solicitors are notoriously crap at actually signing things like employment contracts and partnerships deeds. Thats what i'd do. You may end up shafting Herts but you've got to look after no 1 here and thats the safest way to protect your position i reckon. Hope this all works out for you TK.
  3. "For the journey" Lloyds TSB - or travel sweets in a tin.
  4. I'm seriously regretting having 3 kids under the age of 5 . . . . . . and not having had the snip after #2. I know they're wonderous and give so much back etc etc but whilst individually they are angelic little cherubs put the three together - particularly armed with swords and they are causing absolute bloody mayhem. Even a bad hangover clears up after 24-36 hours . . . . I've only got 4 years till we're through the worst i reckon . . . . .
  5. I had an A plate one of these little beauties. £600 in the early 90s. It was nothing but trouble from the minute i bought it.
  6. Glad to hear he's in the right place. I was worrying about your little 'un in the middle of the night last night - couldn't sleep and was worrying about all sorts including your baby's temperature ! Just checked on here for progress report. Big risks of febrile convulsions at those sort of temps so you did the right thing as paul suggested. Hope all ok. I'm sure he'll be fine now. Kids like to scare the shit out of their parents on a regualr basis i find.
  7. Bought series 1 to get me through the night feeds for our new baby. I was due to do the 3 am feed last night but got up early to watch a few extra episodes during my nightshift. Watched episodes 5-8 from midnight till 3am this morning. Disturbed that this little fella may be subliminally absorbing the vocab and his first words may be "Yo Motherfucker get to the pit". It's ace telly. Really enjoying it. Watched one episode in the hours of daylight and the mother in law wandered in and watched it but she prefers Inspector Frost !!!!! I reckon I could be investing in the full kit over the next few months. Good stuff.
  8. Mathew Wright was the target of my image search but having Fiona Philips in as well is obviously a BOGOF - maybe they can share the one bullet. His inane grin annoys the hell out of me. Utter twat.
  9. its the bloody mouse i found in the airing cupboard today - its really got to me. I'd be no good doing a bushtucker trial.
  10. founmf s b,oodu ,oudr n the aueinf cipbiard todau
  11. I did some food shopping in Iceland today but made clear i was lured in purely by the good value offers and not because of those effin irritating adverts with that dreadful Katona woman. Also making lots of homemade soup - pulses are where its at.
  12. Another outstanding call from the Section man. She is da bomb.
  13. What the fuck am i doing ? watchin MTV ? and up at 1am ? I must be in a parallel universe ?
  14. Not played any computer game since Manic Miner on a Spectrum PC (apart from the odd go on Alone in the Dark on a 90s PC). Played tennis on a mates Wii the other night - what a laugh that was. it was ace. Want one but reckon i'll wait till the kids are a bit older. Youngest is still only 4. Next year for us ( i mean for him) i reckon. What would people recommend for young kids on it though ?
  15. Real Red - you are an absolute gent. Sorted. the Uninstaller and then redoing the instal of the new version has sorted it. Much appreciated. thanks.
  16. Just IE. I'll try the Flash removal tool and then try again. I dont understand the Javascript question !! (I've checked that the scripting things are enabled in Tools - Options - Security though)
  17. Anyone see the Lincoln impersonator on Simon Schama's America who wanders round Gettysburg doing this every day. It was ace.
  18. Nice to see the wonderful professionalism and respect for patient confidentiality from Nurse Watson blabbing to the press. Outrageous betrayal for the poor old (spud) bugger. "Speaking of the vicar, A & E nurse Trudi Watson, of Sheffield's Northern General Hospital, said: "He explained to me, quite sincerely, he had been hanging curtains naked in the kitchen when he fell backwards on to the kitchen table and on to a potato. "But it's not for me to question his story. He had to undergo surgery to have it removed." She advised anyone tempted to use such objects in sex games to think again. "It can be very dangerous and potentially life-threatening," she said.
  19. Given he has come across as such a bumbling muppet when i have seen him during this campaign that is a very eloquent and dignified speech. Its a shame he allowed such a nasty campaign to be run in his name. and nice lime green quoting by the way. WTF ?!
  20. I'm getting really pissed off now - can't view any of this video content. Any of you techie peeps able to help ? 48 of you have read my help post on the techie thread but nil help. PPPlllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaassssseeeeeeee. http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/tnf-techy-nerd-forum/69909-flash-player-update-download-help-needed.html
  21. Not in the same league as the great theatrical political oratory which dominates this list but as a parliamentary speech Geoffrey's Howes resignation speech at the time it was made was electric. Given that he sealed Thatcher's fate with his mild mannered and carefully chosen words this merits a place. I remember watching it live. YouTube - Sir Geoffrey Howe vs. Margaret Thatcher
  22. I can't view any video content on BBC or Youtube and it keeps saying "you don;t have the latest Flash Player installed or javascript may be turned off". I have clkced on the update Flash icon and it takes me to the Adobe site and it says I have downloaded the update but it still doesn't work when i then try to view any video. I've done it about 6 times to no avail. Any of you techie guys and girls got any suggestions? (and yes i have rebooted several times).
  23. She probably smkoes a pipe with that deep voice. But she has glammed up lately. Not sure what is worse
  24. I used to get the train to liverpool on the wirral line every day. Christ those seats before they upgraded the trains were absolutely toxic. "Get your feet off the seat".
