  1. Just to throw a couple more in..... Kennedy by the Wedding Present My Reward by the Teardrop Explodes
  2. Great choice. Has to be in my top 5 of turn the volume up very loud.
  3. Life on Mars was certainly one of the highlights of British television in recent times and will probably go down as one of the classics in years to come - I thought it was that good. Ashes to Ashes on the other hand was very patchy in comparison. As stunning as Miss Hawes is her character is no where near as likeable nor generates the sympathy that John Simms managed.Ashes to Ashes still manages though to piss all over the majority of TV we are offered by British TV even if it didnt quite reach the heights as often as its predecessor did. It did have its highlights- the scene where Ultravox's Vienna is played springs to mind as well the great comedy value of the boyband conversation.Hopefully the new series will take with it the good bits and iron out some of the flaws.
  4. Ignoring all the bullshit and getting back to the original question. I havent heard of the law centre but be careful that they dont charge fees for working out the debt. Many firms take payment for setting up something you can do yourself(with a little help). These people are very good and it can be done all on the phone. CCCS - Free Debt Advice from the UK's Leading Debt Charity They will help you draw up a plan as to what you can afford to pay off the debt and even give you a reference number to say that you have contacted them. What happens next is that you need to contact the debt recovery people offering them said amount per month. This is where you need to be strong. They will always push for more or this case give you some bullshit about it being too late or threatening you with legal action. Just tell them the bailiffs will get nothing if they come round and if legal action is taken you will simply provide the court with the offer you have already provided them. If you do this and are firm they will accept because the alternatives costs them both time and money they will not be able to get back.
  5. Matt Smith announced as new doctor. Matt Smith announced as new Doctor Who - Telegraph
  6. Complete waste of time and effort. Probably have a team of civil servants (as well as paid consultants) to spend several months writing a paper to tell him what we already know. It would be completely unworkable. The internet is a global phenomenon. There is no way you could get even a fraction of the sites on board.
  7. Lost all will to finish the series after Song of Susannah. The Dark Tower is still sitting on a shelf to this day largely unread. Not to say there aren't some good books in the series but the quality, at least for me, declines midway through the story, peaking at a high with Wastelands. The criticism you could lay at the majority of his books(certainly since his early days) is all too apparent here as well. He really could do with an editor to rein in his excesses and his tendencies to stretch any story far beyond the number of pages needed to tell it.
  8. Only got into playing football because my best friends played for a sunday league side as kids. Football, playing the game that is, never really interested much. Always remember asking my mum for a pair of football boots for the first time and she came back with a pair of steel capped rugby boots. Oh the fun the other kids had when I turned up with them. For the best part of 3 years I was the kid who made up the numbers. Permanently sub and bought on for 5 mins if either winning or losing werent in doubt. All changed when I was 14. We were 7-0 down at half time and some kid who played for West Ham youth team was destroying us. They put me on and I spent 45 mins kicking him round the park(fairly I hasten to add) and never looked back. Got kind of embarrassing by the time I was 16. Aside from me and the goalkeeper every member of our team played youth team for either a non league or league team on saturday. In fact I was keeping a player from Gillingham youth team out of the set up. Still couldnt kick a ball to save my life. Never scored a goal in my whole footballing career. (Think the closest I ever got was a one on one with the goalkeeper. Hadnt a clue what to do in that instance so decided to run directly at the keeper. He went off with a broken arm.) And then at 16 i ripped my cartilidge playing rubgy which bought my footballing days to an end. Cant say the footballing world was missing much.
  9. Can we stretch the definition to albums that people should listen to but maybe havent? Underrated because so few people have heard them? Off the top of my head Tanya Donnelly - Love songs for the underdogs Cinerama - Basically anything of theirs Julian Cope - Interpreter
  10. From that website. 'Esther has trained in classical ballet for 5 years.' Thinking what I am thinking?
  11. Think his current role has more to do with Parry then anything. That is the ability to organize contracts and transfers is not in his remit.
  12. Eduardo Macía - title i think is chief of scouts over here
  13. So who would be a good Sporting director then? How about the guy that Rafa worked with in Valcenia? Hang on...............he's already at Liverpool.
  14. J = 4- I therefore 8i- 2i squared + 4 -i -10 = 0 2i squared - 7i + 6 = 0 (2i - 3)(i - 2) = 0 either 2i - 3 = 0 or i - 2 = 0 therefore i = 1.5 or 2 when i = 1.5 j =2.5 when i = 2 j= 2
  15. Oasis; example of making the same album over and over again with diminishing returns
  16. It differs from account to account to having songs shouted at him and being told to leave to having songs shouted at him, being told to leave and having beer thrown at him to all of the above plus someone trying to lamp him one to everything plus having glasses thrown at him first hand accounts tend towards the first one but that isnt so dramatic and you can bet which one the press will use
  17. The press have been saying the same old thing for years about Arsenal. It's all pleasing to the eye but for a big team Wenger's european record is quite frankly dreadful. This fact is overlooked by the press time and time again. Don't see why this year will be any different.
  18. Must be bored today but the registration C-GPPI does exist. It's a 10 seater jet available for hire though no mention of who owns it.
  19. Dont normally do this picture thing. Hope this works. Taken shamelessly from the forementioned thread obviously not
  20. Dont think we have ever finished 4th under Rafa so far? Why do you think we will consistently finish in that position?
  21. And to think; One London team Two managers And they still couldnt see what that had in front of them. Makes you laugh.
  22. He also told them that he would be leaving at the end of this year when his contract ended. Hardly the same situation at all. someone beat me too it
  23. Antonio Nunez Real Madrid £1,500,000.....................we didnt pay anything for the guy. Madrid werent going to offer us anymore for Owen even if we didnt take him.
