  1. I'm pretty sure we were drawn as the home team in the final. *listen to us, talking about whether or not we're the home team in the final.
  2. A day in the life of the Kewells: http://www.grapheine.com/bombaytv/play_uk.php?id=1838542
  3. Most likely to go: Dudek - Barring serious injury to Reina. Zenden - Even further down the pecking order with the arrival of Mascherano. Cisse - Permanently or on loan. When does his contract run out? Le Tallec - Same as above. Pongolle - Same again Fowler - I think he's been underused this year. With Voronin arriving in the summer I think he'll be going. Possibly: Crouch - If we sign a top class striker, someone else will probably go and I can't see it being Bellamy or Kuyt. Kewell - If someone's silly enough to put a decent offer in, Rafa would probably sell. Others mentioned: Pennant - I don't think he will go, he'll get another season at least. Hyypia - Will probably stay as cover, unless Rafa feels Arbeloa would be enough cover at the back. Garcia - Doubt it. Carson - Not if Dudek goes. The other youngsters - No idea.
  4. I saw a bit of "revista de la liga" last night on T.V. and Guilleme Balague reckons that due to the rift between Ronaldinho and Eto'o, Barca have decided to get shot of one of them and chosen to get rid of Eto'o. He's apparently been offered to the premiership "big four." Now I have no idea whether this is true or not but I would love it if we went for him. Taking age into consideration, I can't think of any striker in the world I'd take ahead of Eto'o. Even if this all just papertalk, at least he's the calibre of striker that the papers should be linking with us.
  5. Dave, how many times do we have to tell you? The new server's not for the transferring of your porn!
  6. It's been slow all morning for me too. Judging by the number of posts, it's been the same for everyone. Seems ok now though.
  7. I think the difference between the two is that the riverside is still included with the sponsors so everyone just calls it the riverside, where as arsenal have just called it the emirates without linking ashburton grove to it.
  8. They didn't say they will sell the naming rights, just that they will look at that option. They've only just got in the door and would be stupid to rule anything out without looking into it in depth.
  9. Hobbit: Bolo Trample of Woody End Elvish: Findaráto Yávëtil
  10. They haven't been brought here under false pretences. They know they have to work hard every day and show the staff that they have what it takes to make the step up. And if they don't make it here at least they will have had access to great facilities and excellent coaching that will stand them in good stead for the future. The problem with getting exceptional talent in this day and age is that every major club will know about them. All the major clubs knew of the likes of Fabregas and Messi, and we tried getting Rooney but his family weren't having any of it at the time. What you mean 3 or 4 like Walcott, Bale, Ashley Young and Micah Richards, That would cost us over 50 million! No thanks, I'd rather we keep buying the young foreign (and domestic) prospects who aren't over-valued. If just one of our lads become a first team regular they will have covered the cost of the others and the future local youngsters of the acadamy.
  11. I don't have any that I can think of at the moment but my brother has one where the light switches have to be in the correct position. For example if the hallway light is off but the switch is down he'll turn it on, walk up the stairs and then turn it off. Therefore I piss about with the switches all the time.
  12. A few more from my younger days. She used to scare me....she still does. I wanted to buy this album but my parents said no, so i asked for a record player instead.
  13. That's why I posted it. I instantly recognise it from my younger days but don't really remember much of the actual music on it. Here's another.
  14. Brains Brawn If those two joined forces they would rule the world.
  15. The day we have no need to strengthen any other areas of the squad AND 10million burning a hole in our pockets, is the day we'll pay 10 million for a 17 year old LEFT BACK who has no premiership experience whatsoever. In fact even then I can't see it happening and if this is the kind of signings people want when the investment comes in, we'll be as bad as chelsea. As has already been said, 10 million should buy you the finished article, a player at or near his peak with experience at the highest level, domestic, champions league and international caps preferably. The valuation of english/british players is ridiculous. Bale's a good championship player and has a lot of potential, but only IF he comes close to being the next Maldini will he represent value for money, and that's a huge if.
  16. I enjoyed the first series and am gonna watch and hopefully enjoy all of this one. I'm glad that Lawyer bird died. Do they give out law degrees in their cereals over there? I mean how stupid can you get. She's up against a government conspiracy that now reaches up to the president and she calls the local cops. I assumed they just blew up the shots they already had to get a closer look. Agree with that. It may not be perfect but it's far better than having to watch fucking soaps and "reality" tv. I remember thinking the same thing when he initially did it. Surely he wouldn't do something like that unintentionally? They haven't found anything yet so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. You guys that have seen it don't give anything away cos I'm just speculating here but the thing that came to me while watching yesterday is that surely he knew that once they escaped, the FBI would send their best profiler to track him down. Now if there's any consistency in the lead character he should already have a list of people, if not just that guy's name and what he/they will do as standard procedure.
  17. At the time I wanted Anelka to be signed permanently but for whatever reason it wasn't to be. His chance to play for us has probably gone now and it seems to me because in his career we're the only ones who've dumped him before he got a chance to get bored, he misses us the most.
  18. I don't think having a 'b' team in the lower leagues is feasable in this country because we have such a layered lower league system, unlike any other in the world. It wouldn't be fair if we fielded a team with our young potential stars against teams fighting for their existence. We'd have the best young players worth millions playing against an opposition club whose total value wouldn't come near to that of one of our players. If they go down that's it, what's the cost for our 'b' team? The only way it would be possible is if the 'b' team were financially independent of the club and that just means it's a different club with close ties to us. We may aswell form a partnership with an existing lower league club.
  19. I didn't want Pennant here but I understood Rafa's reasons for buying him. Now he's here we have to be patient. Yes he's been poor but let's give him some time to settle. It's not just foreign players who struggle when they move to a different (and bigger) club. Finnan being a prime example of this.
  20. For the good of the forum, it had to be done. That's all I'm saying on this subject.
  21. Agree with that. Unless Aurelio settles in and claims his place, Riise is our best option. Left-back has been our weak link in defence for a number of seasons in my opinion.
  22. Talking about Henry coming to us is like thinking about what you'd buy if you won the lottery.
