  1. My nazi employers have recently "blocked" access to message boards and forums but I am still able to get on TLW forums :) Not complaining like but was just curious. Can the techy nerds shed any light on this?
  2. Never one to let facts get in the way of his agenda is Fergie.
  3. Don't have a link, but in an interview in the Daily Express Sir Exlax was commenting on how his team are better equipped to become the first team to win back to back Champions League wins since the current group format was introduced in 1992. I'm paraphrasing here a bit but basically he said that it was very difficult to win back to back because it is much more competitive now with the top 4 teams from England, Spain & Italy all involved each year. Having said that he thinks AC Milan should have won it twice!
  4. Just had a thought, Sky's Goals on Sunday show is going to be pretty short this week!! LOL
  5. I'd been thinking just that the last few weeks. Liverpool and Arsenal, imo, have swapped positions this season, in that we are at the top (OK second) keeping pace with the leaders, winning big games against our rivals while Arsenal are stumbling along in 4th/5th losing to shite teams and upping their perfomance mostly for the other "big 4" teams and Champions League. Swap those positions and it just sums up the Rafa years doesn't it? Will be interesting how they play against Chelsea and Liverpool in the next 3 weeks. I think our game is a real chance to exorcise another ghost (away to Arsenal) and really lay down a marker that we mean business this season. It would also effectively really put them out of the race before Xmas (sound familiar?) as I really don't see them beating Chelsea at the Bridge on current form. then again as against Man U that is the sort of game that they are capable of winning. Going back to Acid's original point, Sky would be going way OTT if it was us instead of Arsenal in this current predicament. I guess Arsenals previous record is keeping the hounds at bay a bit but that can't last forever.
  6. As far as I can see they only miss 1 game on 20 December and we're away to the Arse that weekend.
  7. What odds would you have got for the top 4 , or 5 if you count Villa, all failing to score. This weekend just seems like a stall / glitch and we'll start the league again next week. Like a dud week. Nothing gained or lost.
  8. Red in Sweden must be pleased with Agent Gallas' work this week! ;)
  9. Its at home though. They'll have played all the other top teams (I'm including Aston Villa in this) at home in the first half of the season. Over the same period we'll only have played Man Utd at home and will have played all our hardest away games (on paper anyway) in the first half of the season. Alot is being made of Chelsea's great away record this year, but look who they've played.... Wigan Man City Stoke Middlesborough Hull Blackburn WBA We've already won at City and given the more mentally stronger approach this season, I dont see how we can't beat any of those teams. This is a season in which we seem to be laying a few ghosts to rest, so Middlesborough away is next on the list......oh and Arsenal.
  10. whats the fucking point of having a one off friendly when there is months to go before the next round of qualifiers? Just listening to the Chav match and with a few minutes to go JT is on the touchline with his boot off! Cue withdrawal! Me? Cynical? Surely not
  11. just had to laugh really when I heard this news. wouldn't be surprised if Terry had a twinge in his dodgy back. Funny (not really) how Ferdinands back always seems to keep him out of meaningless international friendlies. If Torres comes back on thursday with any sort of injury, I expect Rafa to go absolutely balistic! dont think Rafa can keep him out under FIFA rules
  12. Just realised that I've ordered over £500 worth of stuff from Amazon and didn't go through the ad on this site! Hope the Ed can forgive me!
  13. LOL, point taken! What I meant was a good solid performance along the lines of the Everton game, not a scrappy win with last minute goal or holding on for the win.
  14. On a similar point, well maybe, I've always wondered about home heating oil delivery tankers. Presumably, the meter on the lorry measures the fuel as it leaves the lorry tank and passes through the meter? Well at my house, the hose must be stretched out at least 80 yards to my oil tank. Does the pump on the lorry start pumping air down the hose to force the oil out or does it just stop after the required amount of litres have passed through? If its the latter then surely there is still some oil in the hose?
  15. I think the general doom & gloom is because although we can be pleased about the start we've made, there are some, and I include myself in this, that feel that something just isn't "right". Sure we've got the results, but it has been a real struggle so far except probably the second halves against Everton & WBA when the result has never been in danger. The whole football media community are just waiting for the wheels to come off because thats what Liverpool always do, out of the tiltle race before Xmas. OK, we keeping pace just about this season, but in my view each bad performance just chips away at confidence. Since the first Spurs game my confidence has taken a knock for sure and I'm really shitting it about tomorrows game as this is the sort of game where we have come unstuck in recent years. Probably only a solid result will maybe get my confidence back on track.
  16. Why not just change the Hard Disk? Its really easy peasy and if your Sky+ box is a few years ols, ie before all that anytime shit you get to use the whole of the disk for your own use, not half like the newer units. I've got a 160GB drive in mine which = 80 hours. Cushty!!! As for HD, they can shove it until they drop the £10 monthly charge!!!!
  17. I think a lot of the "tiredness" issues comes from the fact that we've had to work so hard in coming from behind/late winners etc. It must take it out of the players mentally which then manifests itself in physical tiredness. The flip side to that is that the team are likely to become more battle hardened for the rest of the season.
  18. Being a natural pessimist, I'm also in the "we will struggle to break them down..." camp and after the last 2 performances in particular I'm on a real downer. I know some will say that we have played OK and created chances but the lack of a real cutting edge up front without Torres worries me. Would be nice to see Keane actually getting 90 mins for once instead of the hook after an hour. I'm beginning to think that without Torres in the side we should play with 442 with Gerrard on the right. I just think he would be more of a threat against a packed well organised defence which is surely how WBA will approach this game. Oh and another thing, I really hate 5.30 KO's on Sultana with their crappy coverage, yellow graphics and generally poor presentation compared to the other lot.
  19. I have this great mental image of you Col sitting in ignorant bliss with an instruction sheet, screws, screwdriver etc whilst the reat of LFC fandom worldwide was having kittens and biting fingernails going through all the emotions!!!!
  20. Thank christ, i thought i was the only traitor to a british talent hater!!! Never warmed to Hamilton. I thought it was just me that thought he was plastic looking, with his painted on hair, gay sideburns, too smooth skinned to be human face. I think it may have stemmed from him waltzing into F1 and winning straight away. It was like "its not supposed to be that easy?" This was then compounded by the ITV media wankfest that followed. I think if he had worked his way up a bit slower it may have worked in his favour. And don't get me started on his dad  Always hogging the camera at every opportunity. Reminds me of Richard Williams and his daughters, " no! no! look at me!!!" As has been said, Hamilton & Walcott are definitely from the same mould and are T2000's
  21. I think I heard them also singing the "Steve Gerrard kissing the badge on his chest" at least once. "Full repertoire of songs" indeed. Does that also include a seemingly endless rendition of "Champions of England, champions of europe". Also ripped off from us (without the champions of england.......obviously)
  22. Would agree with most of that Dave. Only thing that annoyed me was that at times we seemed to get really sloppy and against a better team could have had problems. Saying that mind, it was probably the fast that PSV were so bad that our lads got a bit complacent and against a better team would have been concentrating more. Ther you go I've just answered my own point!!!!! Sorted!
  23. Just watched the 1st half of the Arse game. Don't know if this should go in this thread or the "wankfest" one, but seeing as its tonights match I'll post it here...... Jesus H, the wankfest commentary continues!!!! The whole half they've been going on about bouncing back after the Hull game as if we should be pitying them (as if!!). After they scored of course it was all sweetness & light and Arsenal are back on their bike after falling off (diddums) and that they wern't broke to begin with! Honestly, it reminds me of a family who has a favourite son/daughter who can do no wrong and when they do its brushed under the carpet as if nothing had happened!!!
