The real atmosphere died when The Kop went all seater. There's no way in the world you'll get the same atmosphere with fellas siting down with mostly strangers than you will when groups of 5, 10 or even 20 mates - often half-cut - are bouncing around next to each other.

And the atmosphere had on the wain for years before they put the seats in.

The manager and players aren't even allowed to sign autographs for fans.

Sadly this is the age we live in. It is all about money and commercial rights. But for me that makes Klopp an anachronism we should embrace and appreciate rather than a guy full of himself.

Again, I get that Klopp is annoyed with people getting antsy about the players passing it round at the back, it annoys me, but the way he was reacting on Saturday is not the response that should be happening.

See, I don't think Klopp wants the crowd to be happy-clappers. It's normal to groan and moan at missed chances or the opponent winning every 50-50 or the players not showing effort. He wants to cut out the moaning at a missed pass or a young player trying to do something difficult. Football is about decision-making and picking moments and Klopp thinks the fans also need a bit of coaching. I like the guy unreservedly.

A bit torn on this one. On the one hand I think a manager should just concentrate on the game and let the crowd support the way wants to. On the other hand it has to be said that the moaners in the Moan Stand deserve any stick that's going.

I can only deal with what I saw which is an incredibly aggressive reaction to much ado about nothing from Klopp. It does him no favours doing it.

When he celebrates a goal like a maniac do you also see that as an aggressive reaction or a man wearing his heart on his sleeve?

You people need to understand that we are not Man City or Chelsea or PSG ... we have limited resources, and to win with limited resources you need a weapon that money cannot buy. That weapon is atmosphere ... passion ... belief ... why can't we give him that ... is that too much to ask for? Apparantly so ..

It is not a coinsidince we tend to do well against top sides. The atmosphere in those games is one of encouragement rather than cynicism, belief rather than doubt, togetherness rather than division. It's not just about counter pressing and men behind the ball.

Klopp's mantra is you support the team from kick off to final whistle. Have your moan after the final whistle not, give the players grief during the game (although I could understand some of the frustration in the ground today). He isnt looking for self adulation during the game either as he believes that detracts from giving support to the team.

 

It appears some people want Klopp to bend to their way of showing support rather than bending to his. If people arent prepared to buy into Klopp's way then, there's going to be a division created between the manager and a section of some of the fans.
