  1. Imagine getting paid more than the national average annual wage per week to be basically a 'good guy'. Incredible.
  2. I like how the trophy has been in existence for 64 years and they have never won it and not been to the final in 40 years. Tranmere, Oldham, Bradford, Cardiff, Swansea and Wigan have all been to the final more recently than they have.
  3. As I said on the thread at the time, the club have a major issue with going to Old Trafford, it really needs looking at because it pretty much doesn't seem to matter how good we are and how poor they are we virtually never get a result there.
  4. Completely agree with this, it's the carpet bombing approach that's so tedious, he has basically Completely ruined a decent number of the threads on here.
  5. May be a turnout issue? Polling Station near me seemed pretty quiet at peak times
  6. Didn't the club try to sign Lou Macari before they got in Daglish and United stole him at the last minute?
  7. As other posts have stated, outwith asset striping (I.e. the new ground) I'm not really sure what the attraction is for their potential external owners/investors, the club is listing at a considerable rate, any medium sized business that requires £20m a month of loans to keep going as a going concern doesn't exactly scream investment opportunity.
  8. That Inter away leg was particularly annoying as if it hadn't been so loaded by the referee we may have beaten Celtic an United as the first UK/English side to win in the final. Mind you I hear that Eusebio who was upfront for Benfica may have been pretty good.
  9. Everyone seems to be moaning about getting managers from Portugal and the Netherlands, but isn't this an invetiability outcome caused by the monopolisation or the duopalisation of many of the leagues and domestic cup competitions in europe? The Dutch and Portuguese top flight are probably the only two where a notionally third/fourth sized club can be mobilised to win a title?
  10. I've met a few people from the UK who didn't know they were from Liverpool.
  11. That is ridiculous, the manager is basically the bulwark against them overspending again. All they had to do was not breach loses of greater than £105m over 3 years (excluding stadium and numerous other costs) and not only did that happen, in the following accounting period they managed to lose another huge chunk of money, hiring more staff and shellacking a load in transfer fees in the process. The indignancy of their fanbase is bizarre, if Liverpool had been run that badly (ala Hicks and Gillett) then loads of us would have been putting the boot in, instead they're just moaning at the arbitrary nature of the rules their club signed up to.
  12. I don't know? Physical prep ala- Diet?, Sugar levels?, Oxygen saturations? Testostorone levels :0)? Psychological conditioning? Hire a gang of rabid orcs in rubbish attire in a temporary stand in the week leading up to the games to shout abuse at the players non-stop? Play the Stone Roses and nick knack paddywack really loudly? Fuck knows, maybe try and have a look at what teams who have broken bad runs at particular away grounds did? Gather testimonies of things that went right at the games where we did beat them? (pity they can't interview Ged)
  13. That excludes 3 cup games, of which we have lost 2 and drawn 1. Also while it's not bad if we say had that sort of record at White Hart Lane against Spurs who have been finishing in positions not that far off United's during the period of time people would exactly be beaming with joy? I think there is far too much of an acceptance along the lines of it's a tough place to go, we never do well there etc. without there being a more systematic approach from the club looking into our preparations for the games themselves. Klopp in my view seems to view United and Everton far more like any other league game (as can be seen from consistent rotation of the squad in advance of those fixtures), this seems to result in a degree of success at home but for whatever reason results in quite poor returns at Goodison and Old Trafford during a period where a lot of the time we have been demonstrably the better side.
  14. In the most recent 7 wins there we've had there, the opposition have had red cards in 4 of the games (granted this is often due to frustration boiling over with only 2 having more of a direct relation on the outcome of the match) .
