  1. E 'Liverpool the destination of Dossena 16.05.2008 15.08 di Francesco Letizia - Tuttosport E 'Liverpool team in absolute pole position to Andrea Dossena, side left dell'Udinese ambitissimo by many European clubs: the Reds have already reached agreement with the player during the trip that the agent Federico Pastorello has made in recent days past in England. In the next few hours could be even already signing the new contract with the club English: emissaries of manager Rafa Benitez have already established contacts with Udinese to burn the competition and forge the deal as soon as possible. Anyone seen him play?
  2. Rather than have a Brown and Cameron fest, any others? David Miliband gets on my tits. He's obviously only the foreign minister because he agreed not to rock the boat for Brown. Typical new labour, he tries to talk the talk but just comes across as a smarmy tennis-playing no-nothing toff, with too much shit in his brains and too much lead in his pants. And like most of them, always starts every answer to every question with "let me be absolutely clear about this..." before saying exactly - nothing. Next.
  3. 2 in 2 for this man. Fucking ace. That goal was the sweetest out of the whole lot.
  4. I've never had any problems with my HD box, however Sky called on Wednesday and said that they needed to replace the box due to a recall. They offered 3 months free HD and came to replace it this morning. Everything was fine until this afternoon when the screen started to freeze and then go snowy before going black. I turned the box off from the plug for an hour or so and went out. When I switched it back on it seemed to solve the problem but it's starting again tonight. The only thing that's working at the minute is if I put the TV on standby and turn it straight back on again and it's working as normal. I have a Samsung LCD which I've heard may have a few issues working in conjunction with the box, however I've never had any problems with the previous standard and HD boxes used on there. Any ideas before I sit on the phone to Sky for an age trying to keep my cool?
  5. How many thought young Spearing had scored? From my position (...in the bar) I thought it was Jay and went mental. Then I looked like a twat because it was Dossena. Anyone?
  6. Well the name wont mean much to you but he is a pundit on the local Global FM costa del sol radio station. Anyway on the football forum today he stated the FA lacked Balls and favoured Livepool over the incident on Monday and that there was a poor victim and family in Bulgaria who have suffered immensely Just thought Id put a non LFC view into the pot
  7. Well done last night Dossena. Showed positive attitude before the match admittinghis performances had been under par, and was ready to work hard. Brought the attitude to the match and did better than most had expected. One of the few things to take from this match
  8. I read this in the metro this morning, and nearly burst out laughing. Then I sat there for 10 minutes just looking at it thinking who they actually meant, then i decided to get a picture of it so you guys can laugh and be confused too. Personally, I think it should have said 'Dossena doesnt deserve this position, and has his work cut out for him against anyone at all ever anywhere'
  9. Maybe a bit unfair here with Degen not even playing regulary yet, but in some ways I think Dossena and Degen maybe a step backwards in the fullback department. I might be wrong here but Rise gave more than his fair share of goals in his FKs and long throws whilst Finnan never gave less than his 100%. Dossena seems to be okay in the back and makes good crosses but will he contribute as much as Rise did? Finnan on the other hand was a servant and was always commited to the cause, to think that Degen was a free transfer makes me think that his club just wanted to offload him. To ask, did we take a step foward or a step back?
  10. Following on Woo's noted birthday wish on the good news thread, its JER's birthday today, so, Happy birthday JER. Its also Woo's bithday, so better give him a mention too. wouldn't want him feeling left out.. feel free to neg away, you know he likes it... Happy birthday Woo. ;)
  11. Isn't listed in our squad for CL qualifier according to uefa.com - Football Europe
  12. DOSSENA SIGNS FOUR-YEAR DEAL The Italian full-back becomes Rafael Benitez's second acquisition of the summer following the arrival of Swiss international Philipp Degen. Dossena, who has been capped once at senior level by Italy, is seen as the ideal replacement for John Arne Riise, who departed for Roma earlier this month. The 26-year-old began his career aged 14 with Hellas Verona in northern Italy, coming through the ranks before spending four seasons in the senior squad. His big break came when he signed for Udinese in 2005, though he was immediately loaned to Treviso FBC 1993 for a year. The defender returned to the Stadio Friuli ahead of the 2006-07 campaign, where his form eventually saw him make his international bow in a friendly against South Africa in October 2007. By the end of the season his move to Merseyside had been confirmed, with Dossena saying: "Liverpool are a great team, and it is great to be linked to such a famous club. I want to play Champions League football, the Reds have already won it and they often get to the big games. In England, they are on the same level as Manchester United." -finally
  13. I reckon I'd go for Jefferey Dahmer, showed some real hunger that lad. I did think about having a starting XI but thought thats a bit sick frankly. if you think not, I will PM my first XI.
  14. Have been away for a few weeks. A yes or no will do.
  15. Sorry if posted already guys.... Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | Liverpool | Dossena delight at Reds deal Andrea Dossena is delighted to become the first Italian international to play for Liverpool The Udinese left-back will complete his move to Anfield in the coming days after undergoing a medical on Merseyside earlier this week. Speaking exclusively to skysports.com, Dossena's agent Federico Pastorello revealed his client's delight at signing for Liverpool. "I understand he is the first Italian international to play for Liverpool - a great opportunity for him and he is really happy," Pastorello revealed. Dossena is expected to finalise his transfer in the next 48 hours before being unveiled by The Reds next week in a deal believed to be worth around £7million. "He had his medical on Wednesday and we are just awaiting the formalities of that but we would think everything will be signed very shortly," he continued. "An agreement between the clubs was hard, but we all found it and everything is now ready." The 26-year-old had a tremendous campaign with Udinese, which included his debut for Italy, and Pastorello admits Liverpool beat a number of clubs to seal his signature. "There were many teams interested in him," he confirmed. "He was the best left-back in Italy last year, arguably along with the boy [Juan]Vargas at Catania. "So it was natural that there will be interest in the best left-back in Serie A, but to have the chance to work with a coach like Rafa Benitez was something he could not turn down. "That was an important aspect of his decision and he cannot wait to get started."
  16. I was listening to a greatest hits type thing on the way down to work yesterday and I realised how much I like them. There are some awful tracks that have been done to death (we are the champions for one), but there are some humdingers. So, where do you stand on the issue. Black or white, no fence sitting.
  17. The side looks like it has little to offer in terms of distribution, patient and purposeful possession from the back when Aurelio leaves the game--that's not really to slate Skrtel who doesn't always look half bad himself, but they say this guy's clever going forward, anybody know how true it is?
  18. I'm in Leeds for the cricket on Sunday 20th July with 5 mates and I'm after a hotel or B&B to stay in. Can anyone recommend anywhere that's decent, not too expensive and preferably quite close to Headingley? Cheers.
