You're not being drippy at all. It's a traumatic time and one of the most stressful things you can experience. I was the same, I didn't want anybody seeing me being what I thought was weak either, nor does anybody else. I was probably too stoic for my own good because months later it bit me on the arse and I was a bit of a mess for a while. Like I said in my previous post, there is no right way or wrong way in this situation, all the people in your family will be feeling the same way. Say what you need to say to her, that's important and be there for her, she'll probably appreciate it more than she lets on but when you need time, take it. I really wish I'd used this forum back then, there's some really good people on here who are there when you need them. But you already know that.

Just read your post. I really feel for you and know exactly how you feel from when I was in a similar position with my Dad. Being the eldest of three and having two younger sisters I tried to protect them as well as my Mum who was completely shell shocked. I know you don't know me from Adam, but if you don't mind some friendly advice from a stranger, take some time for yourself. Lock yourself in that room and scream if you need to. It's a pressure release valve, and then do what you have to do. There is no right or wrong way to feel. I wish you well Mate.
