It’s not that they spend it on creating jobs but more that they’ll spend it on things that create jobs. More cars, clothes, eating out etc. I suppose it all comes down to the classification of ‘rich’. If you are talking about someone on 80/90 grand a year who would get rid of or have a gardener or cleaner if it depended on a few grand a year change in income compared to someone with millions who wouldn’t notice it anyway.

Obscene isn’t even the word for it. A few years ago I was completing on buying a house and had to go to the solicitors that deal with Alderley Edge / Wilmslow to sign. Starter is duck and pancakes, we’re lucky enough where they’ll shred it off the bone if you ask prior to pick up, then massive ribs in bbq sauce. Main is sweet and sour pork. But the pork has to be the pork fried in flour, not sliced pork in batter balls. Also substitute the sweet and sour sauce for the sauce out of the pan that they make the bbq sauce for the ribs in, has the remnants of rib meat with it. Half and half with the chips and fried rice. Plus whatever the lady fancies.

So for anyone who knows about these things, what’s the upshot? I’ve been paying 130 a month, did an actual reading the other day and basically that was correct within a quid. It also said when I’ve logged on today that the were increasing my DD to 300 a month from October. Is this now likely to reduce based on the announcement?

I didn’t say it was. I just mean the loss of tax revenue from the sales of diesel / petrol will be significant as electric cars become more and more the norm and they’ll have to make that revenue from somewhere.

It won’t be as bad as people are predicating. They’re doing that thing where they say it ‘could be 6.5 grand a year’ then it’ll be more like 4.5 grand and we’ll accept that and think we’ve got a deal. Like with diesel, 2 quid a few weeks ago. Now it’s more like 1.75 and nobody is moaning any more as it seems cheaper. Could this all be linked to the increase in electric cars? Losing money from fuel so bang the cost of leccy up. Whenever you see these peado hunter videos, no matter where in the country, there is always some scruffy Manc woman in a ratty tracksuit and with at least one crutch involved in the sting. Trying to use legal language but normally getting it wrong. I’m always suspicious of the members of the groups and feel they fall into one of 4 groups 1) Those who are genuinely concerned 2) Those who say they’re a paedo hunter because it sounds better than ‘unemployed’ 3) The types who have been refused from the police / prison service / SIA licence course because they’re too ‘keen’ (odd). These are usually the ones dressed in hi-vis jackets and outfits that look suspiciously like police uniforms. 4) Paedo’s hiding in plain sight and living it out as part of their fantasy. I also have a theory that there aren’t any actual kids on those chat sites. The only people on there are these groups and the nonces. I’m amazed that the paeds ever think that an actual kid is going to be there when they get there.

It’s nearly 3 years in. How long are they going to keep at it? You can’t have people having their lives constantly disrupted forever. This country is a joke in general but the current covid response is one I’d agree with. If it’s that dangerous going forward there’s fuck all we can do at this point except live as best we can and hope for the best. China is weird, given I’ve been there, brother lived there and married to a Chinese girl so visiting him and also getting reports of the numerous times he was hospitalised via poisoning from food or water, plus people loudly gobbing up jellyfish everywhere.
