    A complete clear out of all the bench warmers was badly needed, with benitez there were some cracking signings but also a lot of deadwood signed to pad out the squad. Good to see roy get on with it with out any fuss. Hopefully some of the academy players might get a look in.

    What a way to erase any lingering respect any supporter still had for Houllier, and not to forget this is the man who very nearly drove Gerrard out of the club and treated Fowler like shit. If he aint careful he will dissapear right up his own arse.

    Probably one of the better players out there as free agents go, if he stays fit and you know Hodgson will give him a good run, he may well prove a good signing.

    Palermo are taking the piss saying its too much, Hodgson has a knack of getting the goods from under performing players most of the time so would give him at least a season to see how it pans out. On the downside clubs know we need the money so will tend to fuck about when it comes to us selling players.

    He would be o.k as cover but nothing more, however if we lose Masch, Lucas and Aquilani he will play a lot more than maybe people would like, however if our chairman is correct and all funds from sales of players go back to squad building then we could get around 25 mill for the above 3, should get the club someone better than scharner you would think.
